Makani Sands #302 is a 3 bedroom 2 1/2ba townhouse on the 3rd & 4th floors with 3 lanais with spectacular view. Quick access to our beach and BBQs. This beautiful condo is filled with art work by local Hawaiian artists. Gourmet kitchen with new sub zero freezer. Upstairs, master bedroom is on the ocean with a jacuzzi style tub and a private lanai on the ocean. Guest bedroom has queen bed and private bath, lanai has mountain views. Downstairs is a 3rd bedroom with twin beds that can be made into a king bed upon request. There is a sofa bed in the living room and a 1/2 bath off the hallway. New curtains in the living room and Tiger Bamboo floors upstairs. There is quick access to our beach for swimming, kayaking and snorkeling and there is a front row seat for whale watching during the winter months. Family vacation in Maui 2025

Right on the beach

Family of 5 adults - just the right size for us and can’t get a better view of the ocean. You can walk outside and go down a few steps and be in the ocean if you would like. Only downfall of the condo is that there is no room in twin bed room to put your luggage and things. A/C was hard to figure out how to work but we finally got it going as well. We would stay again when going to Maui

Nice Condo!

Nice property and great location. Amazing ocean views right from the lanai. Crazy amount of art work! Tammy made everything easier. She answered all our questions and was always easy to reach with any questions. Would definitely book here again!

Great views!

I left a longer review on the property manager site, so I'll leave a shorter one here. This place is alllll about the views. It was incredible to watch whales and sea turtles right from the Lanai and listen to the waves as we fell asleep. My only wish is that there were more space to store our luggage and supplies. We loved the art, the location, the overall vibes and would definitely stay here again!

Nice location, dated condo

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had family meet from Japan, Colorado, and Connecticut in Maui for the first time since 2019. The condo itself was well situated despite the fire in Lahaina. The problem was with the dishwasher which appeared to be original to the condo. When we discussed with the front desk that it was not working, it appeared to be an issue which had been plaguing the previous visitors, and had been reported on before. So a handyman was sent over, who reported that it needed to be replaced. And in the process of inspecting it, he managed to loosen something, because for the next 2 days there was a constant leak in the kitchen, which made the tile turn into an ice skating rink. Each of the children staying in the condo managed to slip and fall at least once. When the front desk was informed of this, they were nonplussed. As this was new years eve it was difficult to get someone to come over but a handyman eventually made it and found the leak source. However, the dishwasher was never replaced and honestly, I doubt it ever will be. So good luck to the next set of occupants, anything advertising a functional dishwasher is probably a lie. Otherwise the place is nice but very dated, does not appear to have been renovated since the building was constructed.

Stunning views!

We came in winter to see the whales and this place did not disappoint. Sitting on the lanai watching the whales swimming by was the most amazing part of our trip. You can also snorkel right outside the property which was nice. We will definitely be coming back again! Thank you.

Fabulous! Fun! Family!

This temporary home away from home provided the perfect place for us. The decor is beyond what we could have imagined. The location is steps to the ocean. The simplicty of access to the condo and the check out process was so appreciated. The notebook of expectations was informative. I'm already making plans to return because my Ohana enjoyed themselves so much! Mahalo nui loa!

First timers in Maui

Our family loved the property! Their was 6 of us and we fit very comfortably in the condo. The views were something out of a magazine from our lanai. Tammy was easy to get ahold of with any questions. The only thing to really say was the condo was not stocked with toilet paper or paper towels, and their was only 4 bathroom towels so we had to keep washing, and the a/c was not working very well....but those things are minimal compared to the great location, the relaxing vibe, and the size of the condo was great. We would definitely recommend for anyone with families to enjoy. Hopefully we will be back soon!

Maui Stay

Makani Sands checked all the boxes. We wanted to be in a quiet location, on the beach and close to various stores and shops. The unit 302 was perfect for our group of 7. Nice to have AC. Check in and out was perfect with Tammy. Tammy was super responsive and on property if we needed anything. No complaints.

First timers

This stay was absolutely exceeded our expectations!! Everything was perfect. Tammy the property manager greeted us and treated us like family. The water, the amenities all of it, just absolutely perfect. We met other guests on the Lanai and enjoyed every visit. We WILL be back! Top Notch!

Good Stay Overall

Reviewer Comments: Many good things - some, not so much....Location a little inconvenient as far as access to eating and shops - right on the beach which was WONDERFUL!! Kitchen fully stocked with dishes spices etc but tiny ants around the sink area (they didn't bug me that much but might bother some) - one bedroom on the main floor which is awesome but only a powder bath next to it and other full bathrooms are upstairs - which was fine but there was no room or shelves etc to put stuff in the powder bath for those using it to get ready in. Patio was way overcrowded with furniture and hard to move around...Overall it was a nice stay....

Great beach access

Very nice location, quieter than other busy areas, but easy walk or short drive to restaurants. Very nice beach and patios overlooking ocean and sunsets.

Great space for 3 generations

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I took our son, his wife and their daughter to Maui for a week, so needed a larger condo. We have stayed in 302 before, and knew it would be perfect. The granddaughter had her own room & bathroom, and the son & wife also had a full bath & bedroom to themselves. My wife and I took the master suite & bathroom.Kitchen is large & very well stocked, and the 3 lanai make it easy to eat together or enjoy coffee or reading alone.Location is RIGHT above the surf... A key for us when choosing.Pool is comfy and lightly used, so fun for the family too.The decor is very 'Hawaiian' and just lovely. Lots of paintings, sculptures, tiles, and other decor pieces.

Lovely Location But...

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Makani Sands is a great location, close to so many amenities, walking distance to some, short drive to others. But at this particular time repairs are being made to to the sea wall at the condo next door and listening to a jack hammer and backhoe are not my idea of an ideal vacation. As in many locations on Maui this year the sand on the beaches is seriously missing. At Makani Sands it is a treacherous climb up and down over slick rocks. Condo 302 is way overloaded with furniture and collectibles so that there are no horizontal surfaces available for anything you bring with you. So much furniture on the lanai that you cannot get around it to be seated. Very treacherous spa tub that someone thought could be converted into a shower that doesn't work at all with a safety handle that falls off the wall during the night in the master suite. We would not rent this unit again.

We did not like the shower in the main bedroom. It can be difficult to get in and out safely. A/C was nice. The condo has way too much stuff, including the dishes and decorations. The heated pool and grounds were very nice.
