The Space:

This first-floor condo is located on the Gulf on the East End, and features pool access, a boardwalk to Gulf, and a grassy common area leading down to the water. Inside, you'll find an open-concept layout, a beautiful sunroom, and a fully-equipped kitchen.



The open floor plan includes the living room with plenty of seating and TV. The fully equipped kitchen has all the comforts of home. Sliding glass doors open to the common area and lovely view of the Gulf. A short walk leads to the swimming pool and boardwalk extending to the Gulf waters. The complex sunroom near shopping and dining.

We enjoyed our stay. For the most part the property was enjoyable. It is an older unit. Upon arrival the outside of the units appeared very worn and unkept. Many of them had broken handrails, but luckily we were in a ground-level unit, and didnt need stairs.There were a couple of minor things that would have been nice including better pillows. The bed pillows were VERY thin and flat. The king size bed had 2 standard sized pillows that were very thin and flat. (There were pillows in shams, but they didnt appear to be the cleanest.) There were also no washcloths. There were plenty of towels and hand towels, but no washcloths that we could find. There was a nice kit of laundry and dish soap that was great to have. That saved us a run to the store. We really did enjoy the stay. The unit is centrally located on the island and very easy to find and access. The complex was very quiet and great for relaxing. The view of the gulf was very limited, but the walk to the pool and beach was super quick and no trouble at all. My son loved the pool and the wasy walk to the beach. It was a nice experience for our first trip to DI.

Great quiet beach vacation!

Place was perfect for our family! The condo was well kept up and kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook. We most enjoyed the private beach and pool. Neither were ever crowded. Great place for a week stay!

We had a wonderful vacation! The only suggestion I have is to update the master bath toilet. The condo was great and fully furnished!

Nice condo, good location

Condo is as the pictures show. Nice, clean and towels and some toiletries provided. Quiet area, quick walk to beach and nice pool. A few blocks to the bike path that runs the entire island. I'd highly recommend for families.

Family of 3

We stayed here for our first family vacation, and liked it so much we are coming back next year with more family! The condo was very spacious and allowed for plenty of family activities. The location to the beach is unbeatable. The only con we had was the sliding patio door was very hard to open and shut, but it did not deter from our stay.

Unfortunately, our stay at this condo was very disappointing. While the location was nice, the cleanliness, condition, and maintenance of the property were not what we expected.We found visible mold and heavy dust in the return air vents, extremely dirty floors (our children’s feet turned black from walking barefoot), and no mop available to clean them. The condo had significant wear and tear, including cabinet doors repaired with hot glue, loose headboards, drafty windows, a sliding patio door that would not open, and ripped/dirty patio curtains.The beds were very uncomfortable with old mattresses and extremely flat pillows. We found stains on towels, sheets, and comforters, including what appeared to be an old blood stain on a sheet. The shower had rust, and there was a questionable plastic piece around the shower spout.The kitchen was poorly stocked, with no coffee, no basic seasonings, and melted utensils that need replaced. Burnt plug in and the TV also repeatedly interrupted our viewing by trying to switch programs.We texted the host before arrival because we had trouble locating the condo, but the message was never opened and we received no response.We followed all checkout instructions, including washing dishes, stripping beds, and placing towels in the washer. We documented the condition with photos and hope these issues are addressed for future guests.

We had a great time. They need to provide forks and a spatula. All other kitchen items were pretty well stocked.

Beach vacation

Condo was very centrally located and close to the beach. We were able to ride bikes to Fort Gaines, the aquarium, walking trails, park, and stores. Condo was clean and suited our family very well. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and we were able to cook almost daily. The short walk to the beach was perfect and we could see the ocean out our back door. My only complaint is that the beds were very hard and upstairs neighbor came in for several days and stomped around and moved furniture all night. Overall, we had a great time and a very restful much needed vacation. We would definitely recommend.

Very Noisy

The property was ok. It wasn’t extremely clean and honestly you can hear EVERYTHING that your neighbors are doing. It’s not for a quiet, sleep-in vacation.

cozy condo

this condo was as described. the only issues we had was with the ac, fridge (took hours to cool when we initially got there) and the silverwares drawer track breaking. but over all it was great! the beach access made up for all of the small things. Kids and us enjoyed every moment! thank you for the memories!

Surf Club

If you are looking for a low-key, quiet destination then this is your place. The Surf Club has a pool or you can walk just a bit farther to the beach. As recommended, bring your chairs (any beach activities) that the kids want to play with. Hit the store beforehand and you can make burgers on the charcoal drill provided. Or you can go down the road to Skinner's for a surf/turf style take-out dinner. You can walk the beach and collect shells, you can see sand crabs and aquatic birds. We even saw dolphins. Our stay was just what we wanted- sun, fun, & relaxing!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the Surf Club location! While the property is older, the unit was very well maintained and clean! We had two minor issues that were resolved promptly, including locking our keys in the unit, returning after a full day out in Mobile, and having someone at the property management office within 10 minutes to give us an extra key. Very impressed, and we'd love to come back someday!!

Surf Club Manager Denise was welcoming, helpful and friendly.. Dauphin Island is a great place to stay if you want to relax and walk along the beach. Surf Club Unit B-9 is a place where you can feel at home with all the comfort and conveniences of home including wi-fi, cable/satellite and DVD player. The cost was quite reasonable as well.
