Unwind in this spacious 2-BR/1 bath Black Hills Retreat in a historic 1910 sandstone building in downtown Hot Springs. Blending modern comfort with timeless western charm, this inviting space features a king bedroom, a second cozy bedroom with dual comfy twins (trundle), & flexible living areas perfect for families or small groups. The refreshed bathroom includes a tub/shower.

Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, A/C, heating, TV, fast WiFi, and access to a washer/dryer—everything you need to settle in with ease.

Step outside to coffee shops, dining, galleries, and the theatre—all within walking distance. Stroll along the Fall River and take in the nearby waterfall (across the street), or venture out to Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, the Badlands, & Sturgis.

We had a great time. The apartment was very spacious and clean, and it was a great location. We can highly recommend this apartment. The host is very helpful and well organized.

This apartment is in a great location in DT Hot Springs making it easy to walk to eating, movie house and the walking path along the springs. If you have any physical issues with stairs, might not be the place for you. It’s a bit steep. But, The new host of the property, Dar, is wonderful and will make sure your stay is easy and comfortable.

We had an excellent stay at this property in Hot Springs. The host was amazing and communicated very well from start to finish. The apartment itself was exceptionally clean, recently redecorated, and fully stocked with everything we needed. It was the ideal setup for our family of four. The centralized location made it incredibly convenient for getting around. Overall, it was exactly what we were looking for and perfect for our stay.

The apartment was as expected. The on-demand hot water was a little tricky to get used to at first but there was no issue. The contacts were accessible and very responsive. Very cute place to visit and the apartment was comfortable at the end of a long day.

We fell in love with downtown Hot Springs for its history and small-town feel. This 100+ year-old sandstone building tells the story of how the town was built, and that mattered to us—we believe in preserving what makes places special, not changing them. My husband especially loves historic buildings, so this one checked all the boxes.

The location doesn’t hurt either—right across from the Fall River, next to the waterfall, and just steps from great walking and running trails. You can easily walk to coffee, shops, and restaurants, plus relax at Moccasin Springs Natural Mineral Spa or Evans Plunge Mineral Springs.

What makes this property unique is its blend of history, setting, and character. Built in 1910, this sandstone building was once part of Hot Springs’ early “Medical Block,” alongside Highley’s Drug Store (now the Chautauqua Artisan Market). Today, the loft-style suites sit above street-level retail and office space, offering a tucked-away retreat in the heart of downtown. Both street-side suites feature views of the Fall River, waterfall, and scenic walking trails, while the studio offers a beautiful perspective of the Black Hills rock formations from its kitchen windows.

NOTE: This space is best suited for guests comfortable with stairs, as access is via a single, significant staircase, and the open stairwells may not be ideal for small children.
