Seasonal Environment:
We are located in a forest. With our beautiful atmosphere, guest should be aware of particular environmental conditions.
Spring pollination is extreme, meaning pollen will accumulate within less than an hour. This will impact decks, vehicles, outdoor furniture, and any items left outside. Decks are regularly sprayed down/cleaned, particularly prior to guest arrival. This does not stop the accumulation of pollen.
We have an abundance of wildlife from insects to reptiles to birds to mammals such as raccoons, deer, and even black bears. Birds may find shelter and nest on some upper deck railings.
Spring and summer brings many bugs such as mosquitoes, flies, ants, etc as well as additional wildlife that becomes far more active. The cabin does receive quarterly pest control.
During the fall, Weinhauser Tree Farms releases ladybugs throughout the area to protect their tree farms from aphids. These ladybugs may or may not be present during guest stays but if they are, they will be in large numbers. They can be a nuisance but are not dangerous to guest.
Dry season brings out our red dirt and can make highly traveled areas `dusty` very quickly even after exterior spray downs/cleanings.
During winter, all of our hardwoods lose their leaves giving the opportunity of witnessing more winter active wildlife.
Rural Environment:
We are located in a small rural community with limited resources. This include 1 internet provider, 1 electric provider, rural water districts, and propane tanks, no gas lines. All of these are provided, however, Kowi Properties and private owner are not responsible for outages.
