Amazing property

The directions supplied by the owner were spot on and made the drive from San Diego very easy. The views were amazing and the property immaculate. This was my first time coming to Mexico like this, and it will not be my last!

This was a beautiful location. The property is well maintained. The amenties were as described. The host was exceptional in communitation. The directions provider we easy to follow and broaght us right to the villa.I would definitely book this again and soon!

Second time stay

Michael Always responsive and pleasant. Only negative comment is the check in time 4 pm is to late specially when you are coming from San Diego and check out time also should be at 12 minimum if you checking in at 4pm

Beautiful

The home was very clean and comfortable. The master is amazing, you can hear the waves outside while you sleep. The only downside was in the other bedroom you could hear the cars highway all night. It would not keep me from staying again however!!

My hubby and I actually check the surf in the mornings without getting out of bed... rather we just lift up our heads to see if it looks good enough to head out 🤣. AWESOME PROPERTY

Property is perfectly well located, beautiful views ; great for entertaining and have a wonderful time; very secure. Property need to be better maintained, look not very well cleaned, rusted doors and kitchen cabinets. Need better tv cable options. to be considered Luxury Great customer service from management (owners).

Very nice stay, just as presented

We had just one night at Club Marena. The villa was exactly as presented, very clean and comfortable. We had no trouble accessing the condo and enjoyed our short stay. Great outdoor patio area and water views. Second story master bedroom was large, comfortable, and had its own ocean front patio. I will note, this property does not have a beach, but it does have lots of nice ocean front views and a pool. Surfers will love this property as there were lots of nice breaks. Beach goers might want to choose another location. That is certainly not related to the villa. If you are not concerned about a beach, then you will very much enjoy this property.

It is my favorite part of staying there. We love our morning beach walks and hunting in the tidepools at the end of the beach. At extreme high tides the water can come all the way up the beach and I just checked and it does look like it was unfortunately a high tide during your visit, so perhaps that was the problem. Good security/good 3 days

Nice to have a garage, good, wi-fi and security, beautiful views, good for 1 couple as only one master bedroom with view, other bedroom very noisy right next to the street. Needs updating, carpet,bathrooms, bedding and a professional cleaning staff. Nice enough owner easy to contact but wish I would have had a refund on the cleaning fee as the villa had some issues with the bedding,bathrooms and kitchen.I We could not get into the club house, the key would not work on the door. Security said our key would work but it did not.If a guest is paying a $300 security fee for damages, you might think repairs would be made to fix the things that are destroyed, like the kicked in 1/2 bath door on the first floor.makes me wonder.... why is the door kicked in from the inside? The heating unit looks as if it had not been maintained since the beginning of time and the door to the unit is in the master bedroom, but the door would not close properly.... With all that being said, I would go back back if only for the quiet and beautiful views, We did eat at most of the recommended restaurants, K38 surf taco shop. Tampanco. excellent latte,food and atmosphere. Splash, chili rellenos are awesome and good sunset view. There was also a place that served truffle garlic french fries, my brother loved them. I do not remember the name, more of the gourmet style menu.everyone was friendly and welcoming. We drove to El Salto and did the hike, that was great. No water at the waterfall but a true commune with nature none the less We were the only people there, they charge 30 pesos per person for parking. It is a lovely campground and they are building in the area. After the canyon hike we drove to La Mission beach and walked for miles on the wide desolate beach before driving back north to Puerto Nuevo for lobster at Oscars. Returning to the US via the Otay Mesa boarder crossing

Hello Debra, Oh, it was soooooo nice to read your review and that you tried all of our favorite things, even the waterfall hike... you may be our only guests that have done that one 😊! My apologies for the villa feeling inadequate as this is in Mexico and has a standard a notch below most properties in the U.S. And unfortunately it is an HOA policy that guests are not allowed to use the clubhouse as it is reserved for owners (against my vote btw 🤣). Fantastic ocean view

Villa 12 at Club Marena was an excellent location. The ocean views were spectacular. Recommend for a couple to get away for a weekend.

A wonderful foray into Baja California

This was my first VRBO experience and it exceeded all of my expectations. The host was very professional, communicative, and offered thoughtful suggestions on how best to fill our time. Romantic getaway

really nice place

beautiful oceanfront property with nice views. Heated kids pool, oceanfront pool and jacuzzi were great for us and our 1 yr old. nice waves right out front and nearby. I would advise printing out your booking information as one of the guards gave us some trouble for not having printed proof of the booking. It all ended up ok but would be good to have just in case. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Amazing memories made

Our trip was absolutely amazing. The villa is nice and clean. The views were great. The surf was excellent. We will definitely be going back. We had a rough time with one security guard when checking in. I had written my sister in law on the paper that she was coming but as the last minute she couldn’t go and because her name was written on the paper and wasn’t with us, he was extremely rude and made us go online and redo the paper work as well as go reprint it before he would let us in and refused to help us find somewhere that we could go get it printed. I needed to use a restroom and he said I could go walk down the street or find a bush. He told the next guard on to give us a hard time as well. Thankfully he was very nice and didn’t. We made it all work and are thankfully familiar with the area so we were able to get our paper reprinted shortly with no problem. If we were not regular visitors of that area it probably would not have been so simple. Other than that it was amazing and we didn’t let it ruin our stay. We will definitely be going back!

Great property.

Great location, private, secure. Great surf out front. The HOA has an extreme amount of nitpicky rules. And the security guards enforce them all to the letter. No kids under 14 in the any hot tubs. No surfboards in the common areas, no wetsuits hanging out to dry. No kids in the clubhouse. Read the rules and expect them all to be strictly enforced. Every guard, all day. There were a few families there unrelated to us and they all got harassed by security, threatened with fines ect. And for all stuff that should have been non-issues. Got forbid a 12 or 13 year old wants to warm up in the hot tub after he gets out of the water. There is a clear separation between owners and renters with totally different rule sets. Overall, great experience though. Best for families with kids over 14 years. And the security guards aren't shy about checking the ages against the ages you write on the check in sheets.
