Ptarmigan House is a shabby chic 3bdrm/3bath, private cottage-style home located just minutes from downtown Homer, AK. All amenities a vacationing couple, or family would need or want are here, including new appliances, and a new BBQ grill on a deck with panoramic views of Kachemak Bay. Every detail has been attended to, including La Creuset cookware, and beautiful pottery dishware in the kitchen. Beautiful 4 poster beds outfitted with ultra-high thread count sheets, and new mattresses will ensure a peaceful nights rest. Flat panel TV's and an X-Box 360 gaming system are on hand for those times you just want to kick back and relax. Comfy leather couches and hand painted furniture in the living areas guarantee your stay will be relaxing and stress free. The house is impeccably clean for the most discriminating guests. The 3100 sq. ft. home, built in 2009 will sleep 8-10 comfortably. If you are looking for the ultimate home away from home, then the Ptarmigan House is it!

This place is such a gem! Our family of six enjoyed this home so much that we stayed in that night and cooked. The views are incredible with this hillside home. We saw a super full moon rise over the mountains. It was clean, smelled fresh and had super comfy beds. Host was quick to respond to questions. We will definitely stay here again.

Wow! This house was perfect for our group. It was beautiful and the view was spectacular! The house had everything we needed and the location was great. We hope to come back to Homer sometime and would definitely stay here again.

We loved everything about this beautiful cottage! The view is absolutely breathtaking! We enjoyed hanging out on the deck taking it in and listening to the birds when we weren’t busy adventuring. We even got to see a moose and calf walk right through the yard. The kitchen was well equipped, beds were very comfortable, and the layout was great for three couples having a bedroom on each level. It’s just a short 10 min drive to the Spit and town. We didn’t want to leave!

This was the most charming house we stayed in during our trip. There was more room than we expected and it was so wonderfully decorated, we felt like we were truly home. The house was very clean. The checkout procedures were very easy. The location was further up on the hill which gave us the view we were looking for. A quick ride to town or the Spit. And thank you for the gift basket and coffee. Those little touches are always appreciated.

Great Views - Great Place to Stay

We really enjoyed our stay at this home. The views just made this stay even more amazing. The home is well kept, just as described and it was perfect for us to spend our time in Homer. We would definitely stay here again.

This place was absolutely gorgeous. One of my most favorite VRBOs ever. The weather in Homer was beautiful, so we took advantage of the view and the back deck. We did not want to leave.

Amazing View and accommodations. Location was perfect going to and from the Spit. Very comfortable home: space for everyone after spending the day on the boat or trail. Beautiful and spacious yard. We saw eagles, ptarmigan, and moose from the yard.

This was an incredible cottage. The view was outstanding! Could hardly believe how beautiful the scenery was from many rooms in the cottage. The decor was beautiful and well thought out. Furniture was comfortable and kitchen well appointed. It is also close to restaurants, shops, coffee house and the Homer spit. I would definitely stay here again.

This place is a gem!

We had a wonderful stay in Homer at this house. It is beautifully decorated, spacious and has absolutely amazing views. It was the perfect home base for our family to visit Homer and there is a huge yard for kids to run around and play in. We would definitely come back to this house if given the chance!!

Heavenly Homer Weekend

Homer did not disappoint, and the Kachemak cottage was the perfect place to stay to enjoy all Home has to offer. The cottage is beautifully decorated, fully appointed, offers space for many visitors, and has a view of Kachemak bay that is unbeatable. Highly recommend using this as your home base when visiting Homer.

This beautiful vacation home was comfortable and spotlessly clean. It has a spectacular view of the bay, is centrally located and was well appointed. Highly recommend it!
