Wendy and Dave are great hosts, and the location and setting with superb views make for a great vacation. The bedroom requires a bit of clambering because of the beams in this rustic property but worth it.

What a fantastic property and such welcoming hosts!Dave and Wendy really made us feel so welcome and the attention to detail was outstanding. Eric and Rosie were also a great addition and it was lovely to be greeted by them when we returned ‘home’.We would thoroughly recommend a staying here, and are looking forward to booking again.

Charming hill top location

Great property & location with great views and walks immediately from the property plus delightful hosts. Welcome pack: bread, milk, beer and wine after a long journey make the difference.

Excellent gite with stunning views!!!

The gite was wonderful!!! It was equipped with everything we needed. It had a beautiful pool with excellent views of the surrounding countryside around it.

Fabulous Holiday

Great stay in a lovely Gite in The Charente The Gite was in a perfect rural location and had all the amenities we needed including a lovely pool ! The owners were friendly and very helpful and we would definitely recommend this for a relaxing time away !

Perfect Getaway!

Thank you for the wonderful stay! Absolutely beautiful location in the lovely gite,amazing views ,perfect for some peace & quiet to relax and star gaze on a clear night. Relaxing escape

Amazing

Absolutely fabulous, our hosts, Wendy and Dave were so accommodating and welcoming they made our stay extra special. Their property was more than I was expecting great location and extremely roomy, we had everything we needed for our stay. The pool was excellent and very well maintained. We will definately be booking again.

Peace and quiet

My husband and I enjoyed a very relaxing week at this cottage. It suits two people perfectly and the swimming pool was perfect for the hot afternoons. Wendy and Dave were very hospitable and friendly and their two dogs were a delight.

Very comfortable and well equipped accommodation in a great location with wonderful hosts

A spacious, comfortable and well equipped cottage with terrific panoramic views of the region. The property has great and secure space for pets and there is ample room for parking. It has a splendid and well kept pool with lots of space and seating for relaxing. The hosts, Wendy and Dave, are incredibly hospitable, friendly and helpful, and ensured we had a well stocked fridge of essentials on our arrival.

Where else would you find such a special place?!

A hill top pool with a view over a medieval chateau, surrounded by fields of golden sunflowers. Peace and idyllic isolation yet close to amenities, a glowing red sunset as you you enjoy your evening meal al fresco. Add in welcoming hosts, an ancient stone farmhouse ideal for couples or small families and this great value.

Perfect Gite

Lovely characterful property, with amazing views. Beautiful setting with a nicely furnished Gite. Great private pool, and peaceful patios to enjoy. Wendy and Dave were the perfect hosts, there if needed, but gave us our privacy. Lovely welcome pack , good location, would highly recommend.

Excellent gite in lovely countryside

We really enjoyed our stay and the gite and surrounding area met all our expectations and more. We were given a lovely welcome pack on arrival which was appreciated. Our little dog Betty enjoyed playing in the large secure garden and we loved our morning swim in the pool. Would definitely recommend this gite to anyone wanting to get away from the stresses of every day life.

A gite hard to beat

Loved everything: Views amazing, pool heated and extremely clean, Wendy and Dave great hosts, beds, bedding and pillows really comfortable, plenty of hot water, welcome pack, dog friendly, supermarket and vets close by. Will return without a doubt.

A perfect stay

The property was beautiful and set in large beautiful grounds. A good sized pool and comfortable seating: clean house with all the amenities you could need. It was great. Wendy and Dave were absolutely fantastic hosts: finding the perfect balance between being there to assist but not feeling like they encroached on the holiday at all. The location was also very good - about 10 mins drive to the local town and supermarket/petrol station, and 30 mins to closest "nightlife". There also many beautiful towns and cities within an hours drive too.

A week in Edon

A very well equiped Gite with character and stunning views over the Dordogne to the rear and Charente at the front. Dave & Wendy Whiting have obviously thought through what guests would need and provided an excellent welcome pack, probably the most comprehensive we have had over a period of 23 years of Gite holidays. They made you feel very welcome which gave a good "feel" to the stay. The little things had been thought of and these made the difference e.g. their's was the first BBQ where I felt that I didn't need to wrap the meat in foil first!
