This house is in an excellent location and with its own parking, couldn't be better. The host was lovely and helpful. The house has everything you need, but perhaps lacks a little on comfort with only one sofa for potentially 6 people. As there were only two of us it was absolutely fine.

Perfect location

Perfect home base for all the sights we wanted to see in Amboise, and such an easy, pleasant walk into town to restaurants, the chateau, and Clos de Luce. The lodge had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and the grocery store across the street is so convenient.

Fantastic property in a fantastic location with only a 15 min walk along the river into the main square of Amboise and a perfect base to explore the rest of the Loire and its chateaus and vineyards from.The property was very clean and had everything you need to enjoy a week in the Loire including off road parking and a private, well sized rear garden. The house was well stocked with everything you needed with a well presented kitchen nice living area.Jean-Loic was excellent with the communication and was great to meet him as he came to wish us bon voyage on the last evening we were there. If we return to the Loire we will be looking to utilise this accommodation again.

Delightful week in Amboise

Very good location for the town and markets. House was very comfortable and grateful for the fans due to the heat. Lots to do in the area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you for the welcome gifts!

Amboise

A great place to cycle from. Convenient for walk into Amboise and shop opposite. The owner was lovely and we appreciated the welcome gift. Lovely viewpf the river.

Our stay in Amboise

A perfectly place house with a large garden and off-road parking. Very near to the center of Amboise allowing us to walk to the town very easily. Three large bedrooms (two King doubles and a twin) with three bathrooms. Cosy kichen/diner and lounge. Free wifi was a great help as well as UK TV channels. Very helpful host too.

Perfect place for Amboise and the Loire

We’re so pleased we stayed at Jean Loïc’s lovely country house. Amazing views of the Loire from the upstairs bedroom, 5 minutes walk to a wonderful boulangerie, 10 minutes to the centre along the river. Spacious, clean, well equipped and a very friendly and personable host too! Easy and enjoyable drives to some of the best chateaux in the area. Leonardo DVs house was a particular delight. Highly recommended.

Peaches a bonus

Well appointed and a great location just out of town centre. On the main road but slightly set back so quiet. A great place to explore Amboise and the Loire from, we cycled everywhere. Off road private parking and secure bicycle storage. As mentioned the peaches in the garden a delicious bonus. Intend to return to Loire to continue exploration and this property is top of list for next booking.

Loire revisted

We were initially worried about parking outside, but Jean reassured us it would be ok. The house was immaculate, lovely big comfy beds and everything you could need in the kitchen (not that we did much cooking) Garden was a real haven. Walk into the town was longer than we expected, but we are in our 70’s so took our time and got used to it. Shop over the road proved very useful and I think the boulangerie at the end of the road sells the best croissants in the world!! Highly recommend if you are going to stay in Amboise.

Great stay in a lovely well situated house

Well appointed 3 bed, 3 bathroom property within a 10 to 15 minute walk of the centre of Amboise. Nice lounge and very well equipped kitchen overlooking a beautiful garden area with gazebo, table/chairs, loungers and plentiful off street parking. The Loire river is at the back and is a lovely view from the back bedroom. It was very hot when we went so I guess the only thing missing is aircon which it would certainly have benefitted from (been told not too many french properties have it though). The owner, Jean-Loic, is an extremely friendly & helpful guy who gave us ideas of what to do in the area. Great Boulangerie 5 minutes away which sold amazing pastries and a Netto across the road for groceries & cheapish petrol. Could do far worse than this lovely property in an ideal location.

This is an ideal location, walking distance to Chateau D'Amboise, the Friday/Sunday markets and the other main sights of Amboise. Across the road from a good sized supermarket and a gym. The kitchen was well appointed, the bedrooms were spacious with drawers and hanging space available in each. The view of the Loire was wonderful and the garden had the added bonus of fresh peaches! (September)It was great to have a washing machine, dryer and airer. Lots of cleaning products were available to use. Our only negative was the WiFi was a bit sketchy, especially when upstairs. I ended up turning off my access to it and using mobile data as it did say no internet available quite a few times.

A superb location, with views of the Loire from the rear bedroom. Excellent for walking into the town - you can walk along by the river and takes about 12 minutes! Local supermarket opposite makes this an ideal property!The kitchen is well equipped and everything worked as it should. We enjoyed the garden which is fairly private and appreciated the sunloungers in the fine weather. An excellent spot from which to tour the area and visit the magnificent chateaux. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Très bien situé.

Si vous voulez visiter les châteaux de la Loire, alors ne cherchez plus, cette maison est très bien située. A 10 min à pied du château d'Amboise, 15 min pour le Clos Lucé, pour les autres châteaux compter 30 a 40 min en voiture. Possibilité de faire de belles balades à pied ou en vélo, le long de la Loire. Concernant les commerces de proximité, il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour faire ses courses à pieds. Une bonne boulangerie au bout de la rue, un supermarché juste en face. La maison est très bien équipée, comme si nous étions à la maison, un très bon wifi. Mr Le Net est hyper sympa, un grand merci pour le cadeau de bienvenue. Nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir.

Je commence par le moins bien, la météo exécrable mais notre hôte n'y est pour rien bien sûr. Gîte sympa. Ns avons apprécié que chaque chambre soit dotée de sdb. Pour nos visites des châteaux et autres, extrêmement bien placé. Hôte charmant. A recommander.

Très bon séjour

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour, proche des commerces, du centre et de la piste de cyclable, ce qui nous a permis de ne pas prendre la voiture pendant toute la semaine.

Eine tolle Wohnung mit einem sehr freundlichen Gastgeber

Die Wohnung ist gut eingerichtet und einem Top Zustand (besonders die Badezimmer). Die Lage am Fluss ist toll, man hört allerdings die Straße vor der Haustür (deshalb nur 4 Sterne). Jean-Loic ist ein sehr freundlicher und aufmerksamer Gastgeber. Vielen Dank für eine entspannte Woche an der Loire.

Great Location to Amboise

First class household kit with everything you would want in near mint condition. House has a lovely garden for evening drinks/ supper and just a 5 min stroll into centre of town. Great bakery near by and a small grocery shop almost opposite. Jean-Loic popped by to ensure all OK

Good situation

The property is on the banks of the Loire with easy access on foot to the town of Amboise. There is parking on site and a small supermarket is only across the road. The property was very well equipped with everything you might need cooking- wise though we ate out most nights or had a barbecue. The slightly wild garden full of nesting birds was a delight. We caught the train to Tours and drove to Blois, Villandry, Azay Le Rideau all within easy distance. Good birdwatching along the Loire - teens and a cuckoo were particular delights.

City stay

This property was ideal for cycling along the Loire and visiting other towns and the Aquarium. It was also very conveniently located for walking into the town. Jean-Loïc recommended several places to visit and restaurants to eat at. He left macarons from Bigou (the best Salon du Thè) and champagne. The garden was a pleasure to sit in when too hot to go out and the view from the upstairs bedroom over the Loire was amazing. We would definitely recommend this property.

Excellent séjour

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Amboise. Le gîte est bien placé, proche du centre ville. Le marché est à 5 minutes à pied. Il est assez grand et bien équipé. Le jardin est très agréable. Nous avons également apprécié la vue sur la Loire et les décollages de montgolfières. Le propriétaire est charmant. Nous le remercions pour ses attentions.

Handy House for Exploring Amboise and near to most facilities.

We had a very enjoyable stay here on the outskirts of Amboise. As other visitors have said it is very handy to have Netto over the road, a Boulangerie about 5 minutes away and the Market almost at the end of the garden twice a week. We enjoyed walking by the river into Town and to the Da Vinci house and exhibition. The Restaurant Manureva down the street was good value and quality for lunch and dinner. Jen-Loic took great care to make sure we had arrived safely and went to the trouble of delivering a kettle for the English to make tea. We particularly liked using the outdoor covered seating area for meals and relaxing in the garden on the recliners. The equipment and features in the house left us with nothing to comment on. Everything you could want in white goods and kitchen equipment is there. For cyclists the Loire Route is at the end of the garden and we used it to walk to the next village as well as into town by the river.
