After hurricane Ida damage, the Reel McCoy River Retreat is back and now has 4 bedrooms plus a bunkroom, 3.5 bathrooms, game room (with pool table/ice maker/big screen tv), covered downstairs seating/play area that overlooks the river, fish cleaning station and pier on the banks of the Tickfaw River. Our lighthouse camp has a fantastic view of the Louisiana Tickfaw River that you do not want to miss! Beautiful sunrises and sunsets! Great river fun for all ages!

Near New Orleans and Baton Rouge our rental is perfect for a week long family vacation or even a weekend getaway. With the moss filled cypress trees and nearby Cajun cuisine, you will really get a taste of Louisiana culture! The Reel McCoy River Retreat is located on the main river between Tin Lizzy's and the Prop Stop (near Lake Maurepas)!

If you come to the “Reel McCoy River Retreat” for an adventure, you can participate in many watersports right in front of the camp. You can fish from the deck and swim, tube, kneeboard, ski, wakeboard, etc. You can play pool in the game room! Or you can watch the activity from the deck on the banks of the river. Our entire family has had a blast on the Tickfaw River for the past 20 years & I'm sure your family will too!

If you come to relax, you can enjoy a nice, quiet sunrise/sunset with a great view! You can read a book with the peaceful surroundings. You can soak in the hot tub overlooking the river. You can bring inflatables and relax in the water! You can take pictures of the Louisiana scenery and may be lucky enough to see one of the several American bald eagles that call the Tickfaw river their home.

Great vacation rental

The house was very accommodating for our large family. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed for meals. We really enjoyed the boat house for entertaining and playing pool. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and the neighbors are very friendly! I would definitely recommend this property.

Perfect River House

Lots of amenities on the river

Terrific place to stay. Super spacious. Great location on the river. Many different outdoor spaces - balcony with tables and chairs overlooking the river, lawn with fire pit, huge screened porch, ground floor deck. The host was highly responsive. We plan to visit again next year.

Amazing place!

I cannot say enough good things about this home! I am so happy we found this! The home was very spacious and fit our family perfectly. We loved having the separate area downstairs and the wrap around porch was great. We also loved having the game room to hangout in when we didn't want to be in the house anymore. Being on the water was a great touch too. Thank you for opening your home up to us. We can't wait to visit again!

Sportsman’s Paradise

This house is huge! It has everything you need and more! The views of the ticfaw are breathtaking. You can access Ticfaw, maurepas and blood river by boat easily! The scenery is beautiful. It’s so peaceful and tranquil. I will return again and again! Hopefully really soon! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Great Spring Break Getaway

Great Spring Break week on the Tickfaw. Perfect location between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Felt like you are away from it all but only minutes from anything you would want. Quick hour trip to everything that is New Orleans and 45 minutes to Baton Rouge and LSU. We had a great time with 2 teenagers and LSU daughter was able to come join us after school. Like others have said, pictures do not do it justice, plenty of space and everything you would want. Rooms are spacious and everyone gets their own bathroom. Very important for the teenage girls. We all enjoyed the game room and being right on the water. Star gazing after the hot tub was a big hit. All around great trip, and we look to come back again.

Amazing river retreat

This was our second time to rent this wonderful river home. This time we stayed for 9 days. Words cannot explain the peacefulness of this place. Our kids and grandkids were able to come on the weekends. Had a blast riding jet skis, boating and tubing on all of the waterways. We caught fish everyday off of the dock. Enjoyed watching the sunrises and sunsets from the house and also while riding in the boat. There is house is very spacious, comfortable and very well furnished. It is a great getaway place for a family or a group of friends. The views of the river is amazing from so many different places. The owner's are very accommodating and easy to deal with. Have already booked to go back in August with a group of friends.

Beautiful Views, Great Home

The house is roomy and comfortable. The beds are nice, and there is a great setup for entertaining and cooking. I would return here in a heartbeat... The sunrise and sunsets here were awesome. Our group LOVED the house. The only negative was not having access to a boat. One of the major reasons I rented the place was to enjoy the water and take a boat out. I did not see that a boat was not included in the rental before getting the rental agreement. That was a big bummer for all of us. Other than that, it was a perfect place to enjoy a long weekend.

Super Bowl Weekend

Our stay was really good!! Everything is as listed on the site. The neighborhood was fantastic. Being on the water was super cool, boats, jet skiing, and fishing. The people were very friendly and inviting. The hosts were great and available when needed.

Perfect River House

We enjoyed our stay at the river house during the christmas holiday. It was the perfect place to catch up with family and even enjoyed the view. We fished, boiled shrimp and played pool. We will definitely be staying here again. Plenty of room for everyone.

July Fourth/Senior Trip Getaway

Great location on the Tickfaw River with exceptional views. Very short boat ride to the Riverside Marina and Boopaloos! The neighbors were very friendly and helpful and the owners were as well. We will certainly be booking here again.

Hi! We are the McCoy family. We have four children and 6 grandchildren! We are living proof that fun can be had for all ages at a Tickfaw River Rental!

Our Family Story: We bought our first boat approximately 25 years ago, and have enjoyed every moment! For 20 years, we rented a camp on the Tickfaw River with many family members. These vacations have been fun for every person involved. Throughout the years we have had elderly and babies join us for the fun!

After 10 years of renting a camp, we decided to invest in our own camp and call it the Reel McCoy River Retreat. The location is close enough to New Orleans or Baton Rouge, so you can invite people to visit for the day! Relax & enjoy your time away from the city. This camp really has the best view of the river! You can ski right in front of the camp! You can bring inflatables and relax in the water! You can sit in the game room or the hot tub & look out on the wonderful river view. Head up to the lighthouse and watch the sun set on the horizon! Nothing beats relaxing & watching the sunset on the Tickfaw River.
