Wonderful property and location

The villa is spacious and has amazing views. The location is very convenient for anything to see around Vicenza, and getting to other parts of Northern Italy was easy as well. It is perfect for a restful Italian vacation!

Christmas in Italy

We had a family group spending Christmas in Italy. The Villa was wonderful and the location is perfect for day trips around the region. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay

We just had the best time. Everyone at ai Nani was so helpful and kind. Wonderful people in a wonderful town. I would stay for months if I could.

Valmarana

This is a beautiful and unique property. The views are stunning. It is large and comfortable. 2 large , well equipped bathrooms. Kitchen is large and functional. Very nice cafe which has terrific coffee, lunch and views. The villa and museum are amazing and the location can't be beat.

Great spot. A bit hard to check in. No person on site seemed to know we were coming & we had no “walk thru” to acquaint us with the property. Contact by text was fine & we managed well. Mosquitoes were an issue, bring bug repellent. Parking was a bit difficult at busy times. Overall it was wonderful.
The main house. Tour is included.
Apartment is the 4 top windows.
There was a wedding reception during our stay. Fun to watch and respectfully ended at 10.

Magical Gem In Italy

Nestled in picturesque surroundings, Villa Valmarana is a truly magical retreat with all the amenities you will need. Its convenient location offers easy access to everything you could desire. During our stay amidst a heat wave, the villa's cooling system proved to be a gem, saving us from the scorching temperatures. The staff on the property was friendly and accommodating, and Google Translate came in handy for seamless communication. Celia, the responsive and exceptional host, made our experience even more enjoyable. With fond memories in our hearts, we eagerly look forward to returning next year for another delightful stay at Villa Valmarana.

A return to comfort and beauty

We (a group of 3 couples) spent 10 days living at Al Nani 2.It was a return trip for me & my husband. Loved the large amount of space and the full kitchen for cooking. The location is perfect. It's about a one mile walk to the historic centre of Vicenza which is lovely. A unique setting, the apartment is located over the musum. Situated on the hillside, we were convenient to many historic sites via cobblestone pathways. Vicenza and Villa Valmarana have become my favorite Italian destinations. As an additional note, Fyodor and Elena were so helpful. Will return.

Perfect stay in Palladian Vicenza

Ideal location for touring the treasures of Vicenza and the Veneto. The guest accommodation was over the top wonderful. One bedroom was clearly the "master" with frescos on the walls and ceiling, the other two bedrooms were very comfortable but nothing spectacular. The kitchen met all the needs of two gourmet cooks. Library was a bonus, with spectacular books on the region and the art. Nice dining and casual living areas. Secure parking was included in the costing -as was private tours of the villa and the guesthouse first floor rooms. As a family of artist and architects I would highly recommend this stay; it is immediately adjacent to Villa Rotunda and I walked over at sunrise, sunset, moonlight -and several times during the days. WONDERFUL!!!

I booked this attic apartment for myself and family for a week in late June. Since I visit Vicenza often having lived there, I had stayed here before in the autumn & gave it a high rating. It’s in a building with beautiful Tiepolo paintings in the rooms below. I was really excited about sharing it with family. I wrote the host before my arrival asking if the rooms had good air conditioning because of the dangerously high heat wave in Italy. She responded that it had a “cooling system” which her custodian would turn on the day of my arrival & fans could be added too if needed. Arriving at 930pm from a long day of travel, the apartment was closed up tight, windows shut, and no cooling system. Temperature was 31.5C (88F). Custodian knew nothing about a cooling system. It was suffocating. I texted the host saying it was impossible to stay there in those conditions, & all she said was “sorry, call VRBO” not offering a solution, explanation, any concern whatsoever. I spent the night talking with VRBO agents & trying to find another accommodation at the last minute for the 3 of us. Custodian put two fans in a bedroom & I tried to sleep at 3AM. At 330AM the fans blew out the electricity. I spent my whole week in Vicenza moving to different hotels & dealing with this. In the end, I was refunded the full amount when the host only offered 20%. Only positive aspect of this was the kindness, concern & help offered by the custodian. I cannot recommend going in the summer months.

Delightful Return to an Architectural Marvel

I first stayed here with family and friends in the year before the Pandemic. We celebrated the 65th birthday of our friend Paul in the spacious and beautifully renovated suite in the Foresteria. Paul had rented the property for us to enjoy for a week. Unfortunately, our guest of honour could not attend his own birthday party that year because of a near-fatal chemotherapy treatment. Five years later, with his health restored, he was able to celebrate his 70th birthday with us in person at the Foresteria. It was a joyous occasion--made all the more enjoyable by our magnificent surroundings. Paul, a retired architect, was very moved when he saw the Villa itself through the columned portico at the entrance. The rose garden was in full bloom, making our welcome to this magical place feel all the more delightful. The historical aura of the guest quarters is enhanced by lovely details such as painted decorations on the bedroom walls and ceilings; wonderful views of the Villa and the valley below it from the Foresteria windows; and preserved sketches dating from World War Two. Paul was deeply impressed by the convivial division of space in the suite. The bedrooms provide privacy and quiet at the back of the property. A large communal space with comfortable sofas and a well-equipped modern kitchen fills the front end. An admirer of Palladian architecture, Paul was thrilled by our proximity to the Villa Rotonda (a short walk away) and to the Palladian delights of Vicenza.

Great apartment in a special location

The spacious and well-equipped and clean apartment is a joy to stay in. One feels at home immediately in a tasteful atmosphere, especially with an acompanying visit to the villa and the foresteria with its beautiful frescoes. The apartment is well equipped with all necessities, including airconditioning which is a necessity in the warmer months. The cafetteria below is nice to get a simple meal, or just coffe or a drink. Form the apartment, it’s a 15 minutes walk into the heart of beautiful and interesting Vicenza, and just 5 minutes to the Villa Rotonda. We will definitely return some day and definitely recommend the apartment for an enjoyable stay to visit Vicenza and surroundings. Our message contact to owner Cecilia was easy and quick. On site Fjodor was very helpful and kindly welcomed us after we arrived much later than we had expected.

Schönes Appartement in phantastischer Umgebung

Schöner kann man in Vicenza nicht wohnen. Appartement ist mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht und liegt phantastisch (da es früher ein alter Speicher war, muss man zu Beginn die Holzwanzen etwas jagen). Tolle Terrasse (das kleine Café der Villa dei Nani lädt hier zum Verweilen ein) mit Blick in ein schönes Tal. Vicenza gut fußläufig erreichbar, ebenso ein großer Supermarkt. Wirklich ein toller Ort und wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt.

Perfect location!

This apartment is in a great location to see all that Vicenza has to offer especially La Rotonda! It has plenty of space and is very comfortable. Highly recommend staying here! The staff speaks little English but are very helpful. The cafe is a great spot for breakfast or lunch and is just right downstairs!!

Fantastic property in a beautiful location on the edge of a hidden gem of a city

Fantastic apartment. Spacious, well equipped, stylish and in an unbelievably beautiful location. Check in experience could be improved - very nice house keeper could not speak any English and the ins and outs of the house and what was and what not allowed were not obvious. We had to work it out from first principles.

Beautiful surroundings

It is a great shame that it was not made clear that there were a LOT of stairs up to the apartment and that apart from the formal gardens there was nowhere to sit outside and relax except for the cafe. Everbody was very pleasant and we had an enjoyable stay.

Dear Margaret, I’m sorry you found 25 steps a lot. It is a 1700 villa with no possibility to make a lift. All of the garden is always available to the guests staying at the house. My favourite one is next to the water well in “il giardino all’italiana”. With my Kindest regards

Real Italy

If you want to experience life in Italy, this is the place. You open your windows in the morning and take in the fresh air and see the beautiful countryside. You are outside of town a bit so the car is helpful but not necessary because cabs can be called. There is a biking and running trail very close as well.

Bam!

If you love Italian culture and history. You will love this place. You are staying directly above and around priceless works of art. Very cozy with books and family pictures all around. Our GPS was wrong and it took us a couple of tries to figure it out. Just go to the top of the hill and look for the famous dwarf statues.

Modern accommodations in a splendid historical setting

The apartment was everything we could have hoped for, and more. It is extremely comfortable, elegantly decorated and well-appointed. The atmosphere was relaxed, peaceful, culturally refined. The long salon was a beautiful place to come home to after a busy day of sightseeing in Vicenza and neighbouring towns in the Veneto. The Villa with its guest house (the "Foresteria") has the feel of being in the country, but we soon discovered that we were only a ten-minute walk away from an excellent supermarket (Interspar). The train station is only twenty-four minutes away by foot and five minutes away by taxi. The historic centre of Vicenza can be reached after a pleasant half-hour walk. We arrived at the Villa on a Sunday evening after the supermarket had closed, but we found a great little osteria (Il Buganiere) near the bridge going into town, not far from the supermarket, and we enjoyed a very pleasant dinner of regional specialties. The open kitchen in the flat made a simple meal or a group dinner for eight as easy as can be. The washer/dryer were easy to use and convenient. The views from the master bedroom and ensuite are unforgettable. The architectural details of the flat--the wood beams, the bedroom frescoes, the old-fashioned square windows--are wonderful. Our visit to the magnificent Tiepolo frescoes in the Villa itself (free for guests at the Foresteria) was a highlight of the entire trip!

Fantastic apartment in beautiful location

We have recently returned from our stay at Villa Valmarana and have to say that the experience was great. The apartment itself is very tastefully decorated, clean and everything you need is supplied. The large living area is ideal for large family groups and the bedrooms are also very spacious ( very comfortable beds ) . The apartment is situated within the grounds of Villa Valmarana which are stunning! The owner of the apartment is very helpful and contactable and provided additional info relating to the surrounding area attractions. We had a problem with the air conditioning and the owner fixed the problem within 12 hrs! I would definitely recommend this wonderful apartment and will return if we are visiting northern Italy in the future !!

Rare Find

Villa Valmarana i Nani is a rare find for a family desiring three bedrooms in Vicenza. The apartment, located in the foresteria, is spacious and comfortable. It, along with the villa itself, provided a wonderful setting for a family gathering which the owner helped arrange.
