The property itself was run down and dirty. The location was great.

Eleuthera 2018

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay at Coriolana. The house is beautiful with an easy walk to the beach. We had a full house with 2 grandchildren. They loved the beach and the pool.We were very well taken care of by the caretaker, Bobbett. She is a lovely lady who did so much for us. Windermere island is very secluded and private which was a big plus for us. The Club is really nice. we had a fabulous dinner there one night. The food was excellent. My only comment is that when looking at the ammenities when searching for a house, the Windermere Club is not as advertised. It was shut down years ago and only recently opened with JUST dining. They have a pool and tennis, but no boat rental, kayaks, jet skis etc. Luckily we knew that before going in, and were not interested in that.We rented 2 days of boating from a great captain from Cape Eleuthera. He took us to LightHouse Point which is a MUST SEE...before Disney destroys it.All in all...a fabulous trip. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Just to clarify, old Windermere club closed perhaps 20 years ago, and the current club opened a few years after the old one closed. The club never offered (nor advertised) boat rentals, kayaks, jet skis, etc.. It has a restaurant, bar, fitness room, heated pool, and tennis.

Coriolana House, Windermere Island, Bahamas

Flew into ELH airport. House was 1.5 hour drive from airport. Roads are rough, lots of potholes, speed bumps are hard to see. Stopped at supermarket in Governor's Harbor to get supplies before going to house. Arrived at house 4pm, everything was unlocked so we just went in, put on bathing suits and went straight to the beach in front of house. Water was beautiful and warm. 4 bedrooms each with own bathroom. 1 bedroom off main great-room, other 3 bedrooms are off the pool area. All bedrooms have French-doors to front patio. Main room has big sofas for about 9-10 people. Large dining table plus a smaller dining table in the corner. 3 outdoor areas for eating also. Outside sofas also. Tiki hut with comfy seating on beachfront, also good to watch sunrise from. Pool was large and great, we spent every evening in the pool before dinner. Kitchen was well-supplied with pots, pans, plates, cups, glasses. Has 2 ovens, gas stovetop, microwave, toaster oven, toaster, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, water cooler station, pantry has a few herbs and spices. Dishwasher was broken, but I see it was NOT listed as an amenity. About 8 beach towels avail. Washer & dryer avail. TV, lots of games, books, videos. Good AC in all rooms. Housekeeping was good. Beds were comfortable. Eating out is VERY EXPENSIVE (food and drinks). We cooked a lot. We brought some supplies from US. We really enjoyed ourselves and would book this place again. House is very secluded, we went in August 2023.

Excellent long weekend

Fantastic property on a nearly deserted beach. A very well-stocked kitchen, spacious living room, and a variety of outdoor spaces to enjoy the views. We look forward to returning in the future.

Special place for special times.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I almost didn’t want to write this review because I didn’t want to share my secret place. My wife and two kids traveled to Eleuthera and rented this house on the beach. It was so beautiful that we’re are thinking about going back every year. Outside of the beautiful beach and the lovely historic home, the highlight was the wonderful house keeper Bobbett who got all the groceries we needed and even cooked us an amazing Valentine’s Day romantic candlelit dinner on the deck porch which was a surprise for my was such a wonderful school, definitely the place to go if you want to have some privacy.

Visit During COVID 2020

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We arrived on Saturday in the middle of the COVID curfew and we can understand that this year has been very different, however, knowing we were arriving, we would have thought that the house and pool would have been cleaned thoroughly before our arrival. The kitchen was our most concern as no one would want to use the dishwasher. The stove/microwave and refrigerator needed serious cleaning. The pool was cleaned on Monday after our arrival. Had problems with toilets flushing and overflowing. Need to have lights outside on the deck on ocean side. Small throw rugs on granite in bedrooms need to be eliminated, as it is very easy to slip and fall.The house is a beautiful house, just needs a good cleaning throughout. We would definitely return.

We are glad to hear that you found thehouse beautiful and would definitely return, but very disappointed to hear that the house was not in proper condition when you arrived. We apologize for the issues. The owner is in conversations with the caretaker to ensure that this does not happen again. 2021 note: This guest did indeed return in the summer of 2021, and said "This recent trip was totally different from what we experienced in November, 2020. Kitchen, appliances and pool were clean this time and Bobbett came everyday and cleaned. Also we did not have the issues with the bathroom toilets that we had last year."

Lovely retreat

Reviewer Comments: With gracious assistance of house manager, Bobette, who kindly organised so much for us from airport pick up with car rental to bone fishing, grocery shopping and catering. The house is reminiscent of a Mustique English- style villa and beautifully appointed with lots of entertaining space and well equipped kitchen. All looking at the fabulous blue ocean.
