It was great having your family stay at Mas Palmas. We're so glad you enjoyed everything and would love to host you again!

We certainly appreciate all feedback so thank you for sharing. However, in this case, it does seem like these are fairly minor details or issues that were out of our control. Oceanview: You can see the ocean from the master bedroom and the pool. We have plenty of photos that show what you can expect in regards to view. In the description on our page, we have, “pocket ocean view” so our guests can align with expectations. Amber, the dog: Yes. She does bark. Which helps to keep the house, you, and your belongings safe. The house has never had any issues of safety and we plan on keeping it that way. She’s the main reason we don’t have monkeys or possums in the kitchen! We suggested that if you had a problem with her barking there were a few ways to solve- put her in the garage at night or use some of the earplugs we have on hand. These are can be used for howler monkeys or kids/spouse making the noise, we thought it might be a good idea to have some on hand. These are suggested solutions to an uncommon problem. We're sorry she barked during your stay but she was trying to keep you safe. Bees: Yes, this was a freak thing that was out of our control. The swarm was indeed removed by the fire dept. as per local law and they haven’t been back. We also spent 4 hours on the phone trying to find your whole group new accommodations. We called every hotel, casita, and property manager south of Jaco to try to find you a new place just after Christmas (the busiest week) and ended up refunding you the night for the whole property. We felt it was the right thing to do. As for the living room furniture: We’re in the process of getting all new cushions for the living room with durable waterproof fabric. Not sure these minor complaints are are enough to warrant a 1 star, but that's your opinion.
