Stay in a 2018-built contemporary beach house with access to the beach from the backyard. It is located in Primrose Sands, a convenient half-way point between Hobart and many historic and natural attractions on the Tasman Peninsula, including Port Arthur and the Tasman National Park. Primrose Sands is the perfect base for visitors who want to explore south east Tasmania while enjoying picturesque country surrounds and a beach right on their doorstep.
The space
The house is a contemporary, spacious design completed in mid 2018. The house features lots of cosy, vintage furniture, a wood heater for toasty fires and a spacious balcony off the kitchen and living area. There are big picture windows upstairs and in each of the queen bedrooms, which look right out to the water and surrounding hills.
Children & Pets
- No charges for children 6-year old and younger
- Pets are allowed, but not in carpeted areas (bedrooms) and/or on furniture
Kitchen
The kitchen is fitted with modern appliances, including the necessities + dishwasher, microwave and espresso machine.
Bedrooms
the master bedroom includes a private deck and an ensuite with a bathtub. Both queen bedrooms and the master bedroom face the water with an amazing view. All bedrooms come with a heater and spare blankets.
Bathrooms
Both bathrooms are specious and offer light-heating. Toilets have the Japanese cover system with in-built bidet to be used if desired.
Outside
there is a spacious backyard area with a terrace and a barbecue for guests to use, and direct access down to Susans Bay beach. The yard is fenced so pets can run around and a kennel is provided. There's room in the driveway for up to three cars to park comfortably.
The Beach
Susans Bay is directly accessible from the backyard, with a short walk down a bush path to several access points. you can also access the sandy beach on the opposite end of the bay with just an easy 10-15 min walk, and while walking you will enjoy spectacular views of the water and surrounds. Susans Bay is sheltered and ideal for swimming, with water that's often at least a few degrees warmer than neighbouring Primrose Beach. Susan Bay beach and Primrose beach are opposite to each other so on a windy day one or the other will be nicely sheltered.
Amenities
linen and towels are supplied, as well as basic bath and cleaning products. We try to only use environmentally friendly products whenever we can.
Pets
Although we allow pets, they are not allowed inside the beach house. A cosy, large kennel is provided in the back garden for any puppy to use.
Environmental responsibility
We care a lot about protecting our beautiful environment, so whenever possible we choose natural and environmentally friendly products and tree-free toilet paper. The house has been furnished with many re-loved and vintage items. We have a tank to catch rainwater and we provide separate bins for recycling.
Interaction with guests
We don't live in the area, but will be available to contact by phone to assist should any problem arises during your stay.
