Cypress Flats features a newly remodeled 2300sq ft home with all the amenities to make your vacation one to remember. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, bathroom, and a separate TV, the guest bedroom has a queen sized bed and a walk-in closet, the "sleeping porch" has five twin beds and a TV for playing DVDs, there is a large den and dining room area with another television. There is a separate building with a washer/dryer. There is covered parking in a large carport. Other amenities include a picnic table, inner tubes, and BBQ pit, There are two kayaks and two paddle boards that come with the property. Bring snorkel gear if you have it, the water is gin clear and there are tons of fish!

Quick trip

Some of the pros of staying are:Kids had a great time. Loved staying near the river where the kids had easy access to kayaking and paddle boards. They also loved having the ability to fish whenever they wanted. The cons were: The inability to have a fire at night in a fire pit, it was chilly at night. We also felt like we were being watched. There is a house that sits right next door and it would be impossible to have any privacy if they had been home or would come outside. We appreciate the fact that they rent it out so we can enjoy it. Not sure if we would ever right there again just because of location to our needs.

We had a wonderful time. The children enjoyed swimming in the river. We did some fishing. We saw plenty of wildlife. Very enjoyable trip and would recommend anybody to try this location.

Peaceful easy feeling

That about sums it up ! Very peaceful place to watch hummingbirds, or float in the river. My older married kids enjoyed kayaking and paddling boarding. Did a little fishing and a whole lot a sittin and enjoying the peace and quiet.

Perfect trip!

We loved this house! The location is perfect and the house was very welcoming and comfortable. The river access is perfect!! We fished non stop, used the paddle boards, and inner tubes! We have rented in Kerrvjlle before, but this place can not be beat! Our family loved our time! The stars at night were incredible and we loved all the wildlife too — hummingbirds, deer and tons of fish! We definitely want to return! Lori is super helpful and responsive as well!

Lovely home!

This place was so awesomely I'm so happy that we came here! The house is big and is equipped with everything you'll need! The master bedroom is huge and I love all the sitting areas! My four boys had a blast in water kayaking and tubing! The owners are so thoughtful and helpful! Thank you for the basket and wine bottle! We plan to come back!

Great family weekend

The house was well-stocked and comfortable for our group of 8. We appreciated the comfortable dining areas inside and outside, the charcoal grill, and the firepit area. Our kids, aged 9 to 14, really liked having their own area in the "sleeping porch." The creek was warm and clear, so we spent lots of time kayaking and snorkeling from the dock. The house was clean and comfortable. Lots of water toys and the washer/dryer were a bonus.

Amazing waterfront house!

The views were amazing from this house! Tall bluffs face clear, calm waters. The wall of windows make you feel outdoors even when you're inside and include an up close view of the bird feeders that bring in hummingbirds, cardinals and woodpeckers. The house had everything we needed to have a really fun time: kayaks, float tubes, grill, etc. The location wasn't far from the wineries, Kerrville Folk Festival and other attractions. Would definitely recommend this rental!

Great Family Vacation Spot

Beautiful water behind the house, my almost 5 year old caught (and released) about 100 perch in one weekend and was absolutely thrilled. My husband caught a couple of bass and was also thrilled. Grandma & Grandpa loved the memories of fishing, relaxing, BBQ & game playing. The house is comfortable and convenient. Always felt like the hosts were just a phone call away. This is our second time here & we will likely be back!

Can't wait to come back !

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect ! There were 2 kayaks, 2 Stand Up paddleboards, and a huge variety of inflatable floats and tubes that provided us all with hours of fun on the creek. We all took advantage of the fishing poles provided and enjoyed some catch and relase fishing. The water access was super close to the house and easy to get in and out of the water. It was the perfect spot for our kids who range in age from 4 to 16. The water is clear and refreshing, and perfect for swimming. The host left us a nice welcome bag, and a well stocked house. We can't wait to come back !

Dreamy stay for August heat

I will definitely come back to this property. While the house worked out nicely for my family, the backyard and creek is the wow factor. The backyard and creek are so serene and the water was cool, even in the August heat. The creek is dammed on either end so there is no boat traffic - in fact, we only saw one kayaker the entire stay! The backyard is shaded almost in to the afternoon, at which point the water becomes shaded. I have to mention that the shade is provided by some beautiful Cypress trees that line the water. Every floatation device thinkable is at the property and so is an abundance of towels. The owners have bird feeders out which are frequented regularly - a plus if you like to bird! We brought our snorkel gear and had a good time swimming around the rocks/artificial habitat looking at the fish (there are A TON of fish). The only downside to report is that the house smelled like a smoker had been in the house prior to our stay. The smell seemed to lessen as the weekend went by - we either got used to it or some jerk violated the rules and smoked indoors before us. Regardless, you do not want to miss out on this rental!

Great place for a family or group

We just returned home after a 5 day stay at Cypress Flats where we enjoyed ourselves greatly. The house & furnishings are not high styling, but they're just right for a family or group that doesn't want to worry about things getting broken or dirty. It's perfect for a creek-side home. The house is essentially two long rectangles, like a shoe box divided the long way, on two different levels. You enter into the kitchen. On the right is a smallish bedroom with a queen size bed & an ample closet. Outside this room is a modest size bathroom. Next is the kitchen & eating area & on the far left is a large master with a king size bed & a large bathroom. The second rectangular space is about 4 feet lower. It consists of two areas: the sun porch - a large room with 5 twin beds & plenty of floor space - and a large dining & living area. These two areas are joined with a doorway & each area has a set of stairs leading to the upper part of the house. The kitchen has just about everything you could want: plenty of dishes, glasses, & silverware for a crowd. There is a Kuerig, which is a treat. The owner, Lori, keeps the kitchen stocked with spices, oil, S&P, ketchup, mustard, salad dressing, & other staples that are nice to have but annoying to pack. The dishwasher works well. There were ample towels, washcloths, & kitchen cloths. She even left a basket of beach towels, bubbles, & flip flops, plus a gift of wine, cheese, and crackers. Lori & her husband live in Kerrville and keeping guests happy is clearly a priority. There is a shed with every type of float you can imagine plus two kayaks, a blow up canoe, & paddles. We really enjoyed feeding the fish off the dock. My 13 year old had a great time fishing because those greedy fish would grab hold of anything. Right around the dock, the water is probably 5 feet. The water is SO CLEAR. You can literally see to the bottom like it's a glass of water from the tap. Snorkeling stuff would be fun if you have it. WiFi works great. Cell reception was sketchy. I think there was a TV in every room, but we only watched a couple of DVDs in the living room. The nearest grocery store is HEB in Kerrville about 20 minutes away. We thought the tap water tasted bad & stocked up on jugs of water from the store. There is a washer & dryer in the shed plus laundry soap. We didn't have young kids with us but there is a high chair & a baby gate that can block off the steps to the living room. There is no bathtub.

Riverfront perfection

This sweet home was perfect for our family's spring break. It's quiet location (zero road traffic but not too far from town), backing right up to clear water on the Upper Turtle Creek, made for the best relaxation. Despite the cold weather this weekend, we enjoyed some fishing, kayak/paddle boarding (boards at the house), and bird watching. Our favorite parts about the property was the sleeping porch with 5 twins bed (so each of our children could have their own) and the big cozy chair situated in the corner along the back wall of windows. We will definitely plan to visit this property in the summer.

Great Fall Experience

We enjoyed everything about this property!! Super close to the water and had plenty of yard for us to play with the games provided. Weather was a bit cold, but it did not keep us off the kayak and paddle boards. So peaceful, relaxing and beautiful fall colors in the trees. We will definitely stay here again in the summer.

Beautiful getaway!

Cypress flats was a great location to get away from the hassle of the city. The direct creek access provides for very convenient experience on the water which is absolutely lovely. Brought my family in for a hunting trip and this place was very convenient to the locations we were visiting. Highly recommend!
