Perfect little cottage by the river. Cottage was stocked with everything you would need and more. Very quiet and relaxing. The cottage was very clean and set up wonderfully. The host was very easy to communicate with and was a very gracious host. She even left fresh homemade muffins that we enjoyed upon check-in. We will highly recommend this cottage to others and we look forward to our next stay.

Clean. Great host! Cute small house-perfect for a couple or couple with 1 child. very close to train that comes through all night.

Loved this home! So cute and comfortable. Short hike to Appalachian Trail. The restaurant next door is amazing. I hope to visit again.

Wonderful getaway

We loved our stay in Eggleston. Shaena's properties are charming and the location is perfect, close to the Palisades restaurant, Blacksburg and the Cascades waterfall. Thank you for such a wonderful trip. We look forward to coming back!

2nd weekend in a row. Host found a couple personal item left previous weekend and made sure to leave them out for me. Great host! Charming cottage. Thanks again for a great stay.

A charming cottage. Definitely close to the train track but we read the reviews so we were prepared. It does get loud but after a great dinner and bottle of wine at the Palisades restaurant next door you don’t mind so much. A great alternative to the overpriced hotels in Blacksburg during football season. Host was amazing!

Gorgeous Starlit Cottage

The cottage is as described, comfortable and big. The train is a bit noisy but earplugs do the trick - shower hot, excellent pressure, and extraordinary stars on a clear night. Absolutely would stay again. Thank you, Shaena!

A nice getaway

A beautiful setting for a charming cottage nestled in the mountains. Located next to the train tracks we enjoyed watching the trains go by.

Great stay next to the best restaurant!

This was definitely a fun stay in a cool old house! The Palisades restaurant next door was outstanding. This Florida girl had a rough time with the curvy roads going up the mountain, but well worth it. We loved watching the trains go by and I slept through the night without a problem!

The house was adorable and very clean. The trains did wake us up but it added to the charm of the cute cottage. You have to eat at the Palisades restaurant next door.

Hidden Gem

We had the best time staying here. The house was so cute. Lots of room and we loved the porch! The scenery and proximity to nearby towns is so convenient. The restaurant next door was awesome. A definite return for us!! ♥️♥️♥️

Over night stop

Overall a good experience. The hostess was very nice and quickly addressed our questions. No hot tub to be found but the neighbooring resturant was excellent!

Weekend rondeau with our son

The house is warm, spacious and has all the amenities. The area is rich in history, beautiful scenery and hiking. Of course the Palisades is top notch dining and next door! And I like the train!!

Cousins Reunite

Met with cousins and spouses on Saturday with a pot luck lunch. Great to connect as we are living apart. Had a terrific visit: especially the friendly engineers on the trains.

Host was very responsive to any inquiries. Cottage needs a lot of work we assume it is a work in progress.loved to see the frequent trains

Rooms were clean. Beds are very squeaky. TRAIN NOISE ALL NIGHT. Couch beds are very old and worn out. Light switches should be labeled in such an old house.
