The property was beautiful inside and out. Lots of spaces for gathering. Made good use of the kayaks and paddle boards. The lake is so calm and serene. The kitchen works well for a crowd, but could be better stocked and organized. Our family had the best time and would definitely go back!

This property worked out well for our wheelchair bound son-in-law. The owner was very helpful in finding a way he could get over the door threshold in his chair. Property was basically as described. Some of the bicycles were unusable as they were being repaired. We had a large refrigerator for our extended family, and the owner let us use another refrigerator in the breezeway. I wish the kitchen had more food storage bowls for leftovers, plates and silverware to accommodate our group of 10. We had to hand wash dishes after meals, because we had a limited amount of dishwasher detergent. Beds were really comfortable, amount of hot water for showers and other uses was never a problem. Water sports equipment was plentiful for everyone in our group. Owners initial property tour and explanation of the property was great and appreciated. He and his wife checked on us several times for anything we might have needed, and are personable friendly people to deal with. Would consider staying here again in schedules worked out. Beautiful views from back yard and living room. I wish there was a marina nearby that would rent jet skis for the older grandkids. The lake was small for pleasure and power boats.

Summer Vacay 2025

Joe and Nancy are friendly and sweet hospitable hosts that have a beautiful home with a GREAT floor plan layout for both group activities and quiet bedroom retreat areas! Plenty of bathrooms all super clean and a very peaceful beach side area complete with comfy chairs and fire pit area!

Great place!

Our stay was great. The owners, Joe and Nancy, were really helpful! They have a lot of things to do right at the house. It was very clean. The ice cream shop was really good too.

A great place to stay! Joe is very easy to communicate with and met us at check in to show us around. The kids enjoyed ice skating and we can’t wait to come back in the summer!

Bridal Party Lodging

Was a great place to stay and provide space for my bridal party as I got married at Ahavah Cottage 2 min away! I will say that the listing shows the address as the right side of the house but you enter on the left. The check in process was a little delayed and everything was manual/not an electronic checkin, as the owner was out of town and in an area with bad reception, but the nicest people and really glad we stayed here! If anyone is looking for a place to host for a wedding or larger group, I highly recommend!!

Wonderful weekend getaway

My friends and I found this a perfect spot for our Fall ladies weekend. We enjoyed the lake view from the patio, sitting by the fireplace and comfortable rooms. Next time we'll use the kayaks and firepit! Joe was a great and very responsive host!

Extended family for wedding weekend

We had 11 adults one night and 9 the second. 10 adults with 4 couples and 2 singles to shared the bunk room( bottom bunks) would be perfect. We had a lovely time enjoying the lake view outside with our morning coffee and plenty of room inside to hang out watching tv, or playing games at the kitchen table and counter. The host was very receptive to any questions or needs we had. Great stay for our son’s wedding held in Elysian.

Family Get Away

This was a last minute booking due to a hurricane in Florida. Joe was very helpful in the booking process, since there were 18 of us vacationing. The property sits on a beautiful lake, great atmosphere for a family get away!

We had a perfect trip

The place was exactly what we hoped for. Joe and Nancy were very helpful but not nosy or intrusive. Hope to be back again. Lake water level was high because of all the rain in the area. Fishing was good. The kids had a ball.

2024 Vacation

This is the first time we've done a vacation like this. Joe and Nancy made us feel welcome and made the stay great! The house is phenomenal and the lake is great! All 16 of us agreed that we would definitely come back and do this again.

Wonderful location and property!

We were attending a wedding in the area so we’re looking for a VRBO for us and several family members to stay. This is a gem of a place for families to enjoy- inside and out! We loved sitting on the back patio watching the sunset, as well as hanging out on the large sectional in the living room enjoying the view. Would be great for a longer stay- I just wish we had more than a weekend wedding planned. Joe and Nancy are great hosts.

Gorgeous View!

The home was clean, updated, beautiful & had a heck of a view! Each room had plenty of space to spread out for a couple, as well as a ‘kids bunk room’ option if you bring the children. I think I counted 4 bunk beds?! The town of Elysian is 5 min down the road and a great watering hole, bowling alley & more!

Wedding Weekend

Nancy is the Owner/Director of Pediatric Therapy Services in Mankato. PTS provides Physical Therapy, Speech and Occupational Services for children with special needs.
