This guesthouse studio has charming 1920s Spanish architecture and a lovely tropical private courtyard. The guesthouse includes hardwood floors, a kitchenette with marble countertop, plenty of street parking in front of the house, HD flat screen TV, queen bed, marble bathroom flooring. The courtyard has two lounge chairs plus a table where four can dine. Bikes give you quick access to the beach and bay, both about six blocks away. There is also a shared BBQ in the main yard.

This absolutely beautiful studio guest house is in a quiet residential section of Coronado. Check-in and communication was streamlined and efficient. Though it's technically in someone's back yard, we had plenty of privacy, and never had any trouble finding parking right in front of the home. Our only issue was the home does NOT have a hot tub - an error in the listing - and we were disappointed by that - a very tiny issue! Wonderful stay overall.

George and his son are such welcoming hosts! They did everything they possibly could to make our stay peaceful and relaxing. George does so much work with the flowers and grounds that it looks like you are in a botanical garden, and the view from every window is lovely. We loved staying here with our small pups and so appreciate the warm welcome we received. Thank you for a relaxing vacation!

Perfect spot for a couple. George was always responsive. Walk to everything and short drive to everything over the bridge in San Diego.

We had an amazing stay at this property. The location is fabulous! Easy to access everything in Coronado and San Diego. Highlights for us were: our casual morning bike rides through the beautiful and quiet neighborhoods (the bikes worked great and really added a fun element in getting around!), sunset walks at the beach (host had great towels and chairs which made packing easy), and we rode the ferry over to the Midway museum (super close by and a great starting point for our other SD exploration). The room and courtyard were just as pictured, and worked well for our needs. It was a little dusty and could maybe use a good deep clean, but it was overall tidy (I’m from an OCD home without indoor animals, so I knew “pet-friendly” might have some fur, but it was nothing out of the ordinary vacation stay usual level of upkeep.) It is such a peaceful spot to wind down after our city adventures, or spend a day at the beach which is just down the street. George responded extremely quickly to any questions and was very friendly. Check-in/out was a breeze too. Would definitely stay again. Perfect fit for what we wanted and overall a great experience!

Lovely location just a five minute walk from NAS. As described and a peaceful and charming classic Home in CoronadoEspecially nice was the beautiful walled garden with private sitting area.Easy free on street parking. Overall could not have found a better property for our stay in Coronado. George is also an excellent host.

Nice quaint property. No extra blankets if you want to sit on couch and cuddle. I advise to use alley and park on either side street. Easy driven all around island. Ned was comfortable.

One of our worst vacation experiences

There was major yard work that included chopping down trees, jack hammering out cement, and grinding out tree stumps. All of this occurred directly outside our window. The work lasted 6 days and went from between 7 & 8 am until 5 or 6pm. My husband was working and had to deal with all the noise. He had to adjust his work schedule to accomplish his job. This work was not disclosed to us at any point. The work just started one day without warning. Also, the back part of the yard where our dog was supposed to play/do his business was covered in chopped down trees for 10+ days. The laundry facilities, which were presented in the original pictures as part of our unit, was shared laundry in the main house. This was not disclosed in the listing but has since been changed to say “shared”. In addition, the laundry facilities were unavailable at the start of our stay, and I ended up at the local laundry mat. Thus, we incurred the cost to clean our clothes, sheets, and towels. Not to mention the inconvenience of spending a couple hours at a laundry mat while on vacation. The original VBRO pictures showed a full-size refrigerator that was also presented as part of our unit. The picture is now removed from the owner’s pictures. We had a small dormitory refrigerator inside our unit. We ended up buying our own pans for cooking, as the pans provided were old and unusable. We tried them for two days and gave up. The unit had many spiders, roaches, and ants. There was ant spray under the sink which we used several times. There are two other rooms being rented at the main house. One off the garden and one off the shared laundry facilities. Three different renters stayed in the room off the laundry area in the 3.5 weeks we were there. We were not aware there would be other renters at the property. We had no issues with any of the 3 renters off the laundry area. However, we had several encounters with the renter of the garden room. She was verbally abusive to us on several occasions all unprovoked, while we used the common area to sit or grill our dinner. She came out and screamed at us, as she wanted us to stay on the patio by our unit which we a most of the time. She never spoke to us in a normal tone of voice. She just yelled. For anyone renting in the future, please be aware the owner has plans on building an additional building in the back part of the property. The construction will affect your stay.

Great getaway studio

My husband and I loved the location. George is super helpful. The studio is charming and comfortable. The location is great for walking to restaurants, shops, and the beach. We will likely try to stay again.
