Beautifully Restored Historic Mountain Cabin-A Tree House in the Woods

Wiley Mountain Lodge is a century old Inn that welcomed north Georgia's 1st visitors off the Tallulah Falls Locomotive Trains at Wiley Station. Horse and buggy brought guests to the front steps of, what was then, Mountain Laurel Inn. Guests were greeted by the Inn's owner, Mrs Blanche Court, and the luggage boy took the leather suitcases up the winding stone steps to the broad front porch.
100 years later we have transformed Wiley Mountain Lodge into a cozy mountain retreat where you can quickly escape from the city to be surrounded by nature. The Lakemont style batten-board lodge is totally private, perfectly located and completely outfitted with all the details. We imagine that our pioneer ancestors would get a kick out of how fashionable Wiley looks today. When you walk through the screen doors you immediately have a sense of connection to the past that's hard to resist! Wiley feels honest and unpretentious. It evokes a simpler time with natural warmth, organic textures, tree top views and clean mountain air.
Wiley Mountain Lodge is located in the midst of the Appalachian mountain range, off 441 just South of Clayton Georgia. The Lodge Property backs up to the Chattahoochee National Forest. The lodge is minutes away from Lake Rabun Marina, Lakemont Village, vineyards, shops, restaurants, rafting, trails, waterfalls and Parks. Wiley Mountain Lodge is the perfect Home base to all that the North Georgia Mountains have to offer! Here you can get away from it all, keep it simple and enjoy the mountain life.

Because we celebrate the art of repurposing, Wiley provides a wonderful showcase for our ingenuity and use of the land. We are Georgia made, every pressed tin tile, cedar beam, quartz stone, squeaky pine board, wavy glass and soft quilt.
In a world where there is so much virtual, we invite you to come enjoy blatantly real & rustic. We call it Glamping!! Wiley is not a house for those who can not make a fire, do not like to shower outdoors or can not unplug.

We love this rental!

Our second stay here and we will Be back. It’s clean, has so much character, is wonderfully supplied with decor and thoughtful touches, and the setting is simply gorgeous.

Labor Day Weekend Get Away

We enjoyed a lovely weekend in this charming cabin. Beautiful porches provided the perfect places to catch up with family over morning coffee, and evening dinners. We enjoyed hiking in Tallulah Gorge & browsing the shops in Clayton. We plan on returning!

Great character!

Our family had a great time at this restored home! We loved the hot tub and the ambiance surrounding the house. The attention to detail on the decorations were phenomenal. Many fun surrounding outdoor activities!

Rustic Elegance

Very comfortable stay for our three families for a wedding in Clayton. Accommodations were clean and the setting was a peaceful respite from the outside world. Would make cozy retreat for Thanksgiving or other family gatherings. We’ll be back again!

Super Relaxing Weekend

We had a really nice weekend away at Wiley. The multiple outdoor spaces to relax and hang out were great for both the kids and the adults. We especially enjoyed being out to sleep on the porch and wake up to a view of the tree canopies outside. The house has a lot of unique character while still being very comfortable. We'll be back for another stay!

Charming Cabin/Cottage

Rustic but very charming home with lots of very nice touches. Owners have done a nice job updating the property but definitely still has a turn of the century feel that takes you back to a more simple time. Easy drive to Clayton and local wineries. Very much enjoyed our visit. Owner even made us an anniversary floral arrangement.

Beware of this property

THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH BLACK MOLD IN THIS PLACE! There is only one working bathroom in the whole house... and it has black mold growing on the ceiling. I send pictures of it to the owner and nothing was done about the problem. Now the owner will not respond. There are huge cracks in the outside walls with just can spray foam filling the holes. Also they fail to note the "sleeping porch" has screen wire only. No one can sleep there when it's cold or hot out there. Cracks in the walls where you can see from room to room.... this place is a "rustic" nightmare!

Mountain Getaway

We were looking for a remote, social distance vacation and Wiley definitely met those expectations. It is nestled in the trees in a remote location that offers close access to Tallulah Falls and the city of Clayton. It was a bit more rugged than we anticipated based on the pictures. The linens on the beds were still wet from cleaning so the first night we were sleeping on wet sheets. We were traveling with two tweens who are super afraid of bugs which left the sleeping porches useless for us. The sleeping porches are not well protected from the elements as we saw holes in the walls and screens that allow bugs in. There is so much detail and thought put into the decor of the cabin. You definitely feel transformed to another time while staying there. The middle deck of the home was our favorite spot. We spent much of our time playing the tiki toss game, listening to the rain, and enjoying the views. Checking out on a Sunday was a bit complicated as checkout time is 11am but the recycling center doesn't open until 12 pm. By the time we packed up we had a full car and nowhere to store our trash. We recommend better planning on behalf or the guests when it comes to trash disposal for check out. Wiley didn't quite meet our original expectations however we really enjoyed our stay and saw it as an adventure.

Rustic perfection

Our group of 5 ladies age 45-76 had an amazing stay. Thoughtful details in every inch of the property made this an exceptional experience. We logged many evening hours on the covered front porch. The porch was well appointed and large but a cozy feel and the djning table was awesome. Loved having the ceiling fans on the porch on warm evenings. The bedrooms were great and a couple of us stayed on the screen sleeping porches. Definitely my favorite part. The fans kept it cool enough. The bedding was nice and the porch beds were sooooo comfortable. Going to sleep with the nighttime noises was a real treat. We all enjoyed the outdoor bathrooms and showers and the indoor bathroom was sufficient with plenty of towels. Kitchen had everything we needed. Owner provisioned the house prior to my arrival at my request and the charcuterie board we ordered was a 10 out of 10. Appreciated this offering after a long day of travel. Definitely one of the greatest pla es I’ve stayed. Didn’t use a new porch area that is absolutely gorgeous….and not shown on the VRbO listing. Sooooo much space and it’s dripping with character. If you like quality with a rustic flair you must stay here. Impressive all around. Lots to do in the area. Great waterfall hikes, wineries, reservoir lakes (stunning) and cute towns with shopping and dining nearby. Plenty of activities to fill many days but you could also choose to lay low at the house because it’s so great it’s hard to leave. Pure Magic.

Great place for bridal ready photos or honeymoon

This cabin was extremely unique and incredible. We loved all the vintage items and flare. The outside was the biggest hit. One thing to plan for is the gravel drive up and parking. It was difficult to have more than 4 vehicles up there but we worked it out. That won’t be an issue for the typical guest :) just for future bridal/wedding things with vendors coming up. Other than that it was amazing! Scotty was there when I had any questions. The space heaters were nice to pull out when it got chilly at night.

Unique & Memorable

This home was really something! It felt like we had stepped back in time, and it was enchanting. It was really nice to be able to experience such a gem - especially while having all the amenities the Wiley Mountain Lodge has to offer. I will say that you do need a sense of adventure to fully appreciate it. Those who like the outdoors or enjoy experiencing new things will love it. There is a HUGE deck that we absolutely loved. One day we sat out on it from morning until sundown just reminiscing and catching up! One suggestion to guests is to try to arrive before dark. It can be tough to navigate the roads/driveway if it's your first time and it's after dark. My kids will never remember the Holiday Inn they've stayed in, but they will always remember the Wiley Mountain Lodge. This place will live on in our memories for years to come!

Get away from it all!

We love this place so much! If you want a home filled with character tucked in the woods for quiet time, this is it! Yes, there is plenty to do in the area, but I never really wanted to leave the house. All these sleeping porches, a loft, hammock... where to nap next? If you love a rustic, cozy, mountain home, you've got to stay here.

I can’t wait to return!!!

I cannot scream loud enough how amazing this gem of a house is. I honestly want to keep it a secret, but that’s not fair! While hurricane Ian wrecked plans for some of our group and I struggled with whether to cancel our plans or not, Scotty was patient and kind through the decision making up to the day of check in. I am so glad we did not cancel our plans. Celebrating my 50th at Wiley Lodge will forever be one of my favorite memories. The house is so nostalgic with each room prompting conversation. It was hard to break away for our planned activities as we just got caught up in the relaxation it had to offer. I’m already plotting out my next visit. Must things to do is visit Tiger Mountain Vineyard, Moonrise Distillery, 1883 Coffee Shop, and Ladybug Landing gift shop. We had such unique experiences everywhere we went, and I’m not sure if another girls’ trip can top this one. The stay was absolutely amazing. The only glitches we had were knowing what the WiFi password was (several of us had zero service) and the cleanup procedures for checkout. Minor glitches that don’t compare to the blessing we received from Wiley Mountain Lodge. Thank you so much, Scotty!!!❤️❤️❤️

Great weekend getaway

Thank you for creating such a unique experience in the mountains! We recommend checking that all lights have working light bulbs, as it gets dark at night and some of the fixtures didn' t have working bulbs and we couldn't get to them to change them, light the porch ceiling fan and the area by the hot tub. Otherwise, it was relaxing.

We had a great trip staying in this cool, unique cabin in the Nort GA Mountains. It is comfortable and spotless in a beautiful setting. A great place for our family spring break getaway!

The cabin was beautifully decorated . It was very quaint and had everything we needed.

Best birthday ever!

We had an amazing experience at the lodge. You can feel the history all around you, and the natural setting is absolutely beautiful. The place was stocked with tons of movies as well as firewood and a kitchen-worth of dishes, pots and pans. During our stay, the power was shut off twice due to utility maintenance, which was a little annoying but not the land lords fault! Loved this place! Def recommended

Wonderful stay

We had a great time hiking and "unplugging" we immediately erased the wifi password and told our kids there was no service. we brought a ton of board games but there are some here too. We loved everything and would come back again! We chose to keep it to just my husband and our children (9,7,& 4) but it could accommodate two families. Admittedly this was a bit over our usual budget but worth it to get away from the hustle and craziness of our day to day. Scotty was helpful, accommodating, and thought of almost everything for our stay! She has a wonderful eye for decor. We would recommend and would definitely stay here again!
