We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Rarotonga. The house is beautifully designed, spacious and ideal for a large family or group. The beach is stunning, although not suitable for swimming. We loved exploring the coral rocks and watching locals fish on the reef at low tide, the roosters & chickens and the visiting dogs.Waking each morning to the ocean views was magical. We saw whales, beautiful sunrises and enjoyed the incredible natural beauty surrounding us.There were, however, a few negatives. The house is starting to feel a little unloved. There are no fly screens on any windows and, despite having fans, the bedrooms became quite hot and stuffy at night, even in September when temperatures were only in the mid-20s.While there were a few pantry staples (bread, milk, butter, loo paper), provisions were limited - no sponge and a decent broom would have been appreciated to sweep the sandy floors. The TV was not working during our stay and, despite reporting it, nothing was done to fix it. Families with young children should also note there are no games or PlayStation in the media room. Most concerning were the back steps, which are in poor condition and need urgent attention and care should be taken when using them!Overall, we liked the location, space and spectacular views. With some maintenance and improvements, this could be an exceptional property.
