Fun spot off the beaten track ( but not far!)
John and Deb were really nice and accommodating hosts. The house is cute- not fancy but quite comfortable, and right on the water, and exposed to breezes, which keeps the ambient temperature really cool. If its blowing anywhere on Roatan, its blowing here!
The house is about 100 yards across the water from a cute restaurant and bar, and there are kayaks you can use as well as getting a ride from John. This area on Roatan is quieter, with fewer hotels etc, but its GREAT if you travel at this speed. One of the best places on the entire island, and really unique in my experience of the Caribbean, are these mangrove tunnels where you can kayak or boat- they open onto this idyllic swimming area- never anyone there- crystal clear blue water- tons of fun! Right beyond that is one of the better drop offs for snorkeling on the south shore at Carib Bight. All of this is directly accessible from the house.
Anyway, its a nice place in a cool location with very accommodating hosts. Have fun!
