400 feet to a great launch..luxury bungalow
This brand new duplex is located 400 feet from one of the best launches in La Ventana (in front of Playa Central Kiting School and restaurant/bar.) , situated second row from the beach,. These two beautiful suites are available for your enjoyment, comfort, and well-being while you are on your vacation.
The building was designed by Medina Architectos in La Paz, and was built in 2015. The building design incorporated the natural landscapes of the area; wind, sun, sea, wood, iron, stone and sand, that resulted in a flow of living that is beautiful and luxurious while embracing the original Mexican fishing village known as La Ventana. Regional and local builders, artisans, and craftsmen helped create beauty and functionality. There are no other rental accommodations that compare to the thoughtful workmanship, design, and attention to detail that is Casa De Alma.
Both unites are 900 sq ft, and is a large open floor plan combining the kitchen, living room and dining room. Enjoy creating menus in fully equipped kitchens with an attached patio for BBQ-I got and dining. We invite people of both units to ascend the Talavera staircases to the rooftop. Sip your morning coffee there and watch the colorful lights of the morning sky, while the sun seemingly rises out of the depths of the Sea of Cortes. The views include Cerralvo Island and the Bay of La Ventana. At the end of the day, enjoy a margarita on the rooftop while feeling the heat of the setting sun sinking behind the mountains of the Cardon Desert. There is a special dusk-time, and then the sky changes star by star into the dark and brilliant Baja winter sky. From the unobstructed roof top of the building it feels like you can touch the stars.
We have air conditioning for your comfort, if needed. There is a 55" flat screen TV with satellite reception with all major networks, sports, AMC and HBO. We also have a diverse library of books and DVD's that are there for your enjoyment. We are please to now offer fast Internet, which is a new amenity in the village.
All of the cabinets, doors and closets were hand built by Gonzolo Pastrona, a local craftsman, using natural Baja hardwood called 'parota'. The kitchen hardware was forged in La Paz b Francisco Sanchez, a ‘soldador’ (welder), who is a master at his work. The special front door hardware came from San Cristobal de las Casas, a renowned magical mountain village on the southern mainland of Mexico. The nine-foot pantry in the downstairs unit was designed by the owners and is made from hard white oak of the Great Northwest. For your peace of mind, both units have safes.
TOP FLOOR SPECIALTIES:
After a long day, feel the comfort of a large King size bed with top-of-the-line linen. The bathroom is an eclectic mix of handcrafted work. The stone vanity came from Portland, Oregon. The sconces are stained glass stitched together by pewter and rescued from an old mansion in a town by the Columbia River Gorge. We discovered the vessel sink in a pottery shop while treasure hunting.New this year we offer our guest the use of two paddle boards there stored on the beach just ask us if interested.
BOTTOM FLOOR SPECIALTIES:
You can choose to enjoy showering in a private outdoor or in-door shower. The outdoor shower has sombre (shade) from a Morenga tree canopy overhead. When you step into the in-door shower, you will be stepping on little chicas (small stones) lovingly selected from the playa of The Bay of Dreams. The vanity was designed by the owners; the base made of iron, a Mesa of cement for the countertop, and a ceramic vessel sink that was carried across the border from Southern California. For additional guests, Gonzolo made a beautiful Mexican armoire, which hides a comfortable Queen Murphy Bed in the living room. For your convenience, each unit is provided with a secure bodega (locker) for your gear, extra luggage, and toys. We have an additional private outdoor shower between the two bodegas so you can rinse the sun and beach off your wet suit. We also provide secure parking for one car for each apartment.
Casa de Alma is located within easy walking distance to restaurants, bars, mini supers, entertainment and the local Thursday Organic Market, where many families gather to sell their produce, art and crafts. You can walk a short distance to a rental shop where you can rent kayaks, bikes, paddle boards, windsurfing and kiting gear, as well as enjoy Austin lessons of your sport of choice. A wonderful fishing guide lives a couple of blocks down the street. We provide a list of carefully selected and vetted businesses and services for our guests.
In our experience, the Baja is the land of enchantment, beauty and good people. Please come see for yourselves. Be our guest.
