Some of the positives of this stay were the prime location, fair pricing, and allowance to bring our dog. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and we enjoyed the outdoor patio space. We did have to communicate with the owner on day 1 to report damage. The owner has a very direct, no-nonsense approach to hosting and is quick to offer an immediate exit with a refund if there is an issue reported. Although the property has a few pending repairs that are inconveniences, it’s a solid, affordable base for exploring the area.

Lori was wonderful to work with and the house is newly renovated and gorgeous! The bedrooms are spacious too! We really enjoyed the location - being walking distance to the beach was great. Highly recommend this home!!

Great spot!

We really enjoyed our time at Lori's home. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Scarborough was only a quick 10 minute walk.

Perfect for any occasion!

I couldn’t have asked for a better host or property! The rooms were spacious, clean, and the backyard was great for hanging outside in the beautiful weather. An added bonus was the short walk to the beach!

Week in Narragansett

Check-in and out process simple. Property clean with nice backyard. Short drive to closest beach and ferry to Block Island. Would recommend!

Beautiful Beach House

Great location near the Beach in a very quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our daily walks to Scarborough Beach. The house was wonderfully furnished with a beautiful backyard that we thoroughly enjoyed . Lori was very quick in responding to the questions we had. I highly recommend her place.

Vacation at the beach

The house was conveniently located within walking solstice to the beach. It was furnished with comfortable beds, chairs and couches. We asked to have linens available. Beach chairs etc were available as were outside tables and chairs.

Gorgeous beach proximity

Lovely house in pretty neighborhood.. Very short drive to beautiful ocean beach. Walk to beach is possible as well. The beach has concession stands and rest rooms. Beach clean, easy to park, and beautiful. House comfortable, kitchen well equipped. Host very responsive. Wish we didn’t have to bring our own linens.

Close to everything

We had 4 adults and 2 children. We loved sitting and eating outside in the yard. The house is spacious and bright. Having a bedroom and very large bathroom on the first floor was very convenient. The owner was extremely nice and responded quickly to my questions. Would definitely go again!

Good location near Scarborough beach

Our group of four adults enjoyed our stay in this quiet neighborhood within walking distance of Scarborough Beach. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and the bathrooms are updated with great showers. The washer and dryer are conveniently located in a room off the dining/living area. The host Lori responded very quickly to the questions we had during our time there. We used a company called LinenDrops for our sheets and towels which worked out well for us.

I am so sorry about the ants. I know youy had your grandchildren and dog there and did not want ant spray but I would have send my exterminator--- to be clear, the ants were near the slider, my cleaner complained about it to me because there was sugar cereal left all over the floor as this is where folks eat as well. The couch is not torn, but I will say there are some stains on it. These concerns should be brought to the owners attention on arrival so they can be rectified. Your emails suggested there were no worries. FYI , I was charged a surcharge for your 'things' left in the shower and trash as well as for the ants however it is not in my nature to report these things. Perhaps review the folks that stayed after you but I suppose after the additional clean up we did the ants were not a problem. You also indicated you did not want spray due to your grandchildren and dogs. The sofa remains and the house has brand new everything, bath, flooring,carpets and furniture. Imperfections are to be expected I only wish I could post the photos of the squallor left for the poor cleaning folks and the sofa so others could see.......Thanks so much

Walk to the beach from a quiet neighborhood

Spent a week here with my wife. The house is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It is a .7mi walk to the North end of Scarborough state beach. This is the more secluded end of the beach about 1500ft from the beach pavilion. It's nice not to have to drive and pay for parking. Check in and interaction with the host was fine. There were some maintenance issues that weren't disclosed ahead of time. One of the indoor shower doors was broken, so we only had one indoor and the outdoor shower to use. Since it was just 2 of us, this didn't pose a problem, but could be an issue if you have a full house. The sliding glass and screen doors to the backyard were very sticky and hard to open/close. This kind of hindered our enjoyment of the backyard. Again, not a huge deal for us, but if you're the kind of group that is buzzing from indoors to outdoors it could be a problem. Digital lock on laundry room door wasn't working, so we used a key the whole time. If you have a big group that needs in/out access, this could be an issue with only 2 keys.I'm sure the host will have these issues fixed soon.

The property was nice the host was not !

The host gave us a full refund but was very rude to us . The Propane tank was empty when we arrived and when questioned the host screamed “that in Narragansett it’s the norm not to have propane tanks provided “ I’m not sure how we were supposed to grill without this . Ultimately , they did come and replace the tank after being so argumentative. I then asked if there was wood for the firepit and again the host screamed we don’t provide the wood & and your crazy if you think I’m going to get you any . The bath rooms were recently remodeled but had no towel racks. When I told the host basically just so she would know she screamed again that I was nitpicking and that she would give a refund and provide a motel and we were to leave at once At this point we asked her for three rooms at a motel since we were renting a three room house with my 80 year old mother in law for her Birthday. The host said she would only do two rooms for one night and wouldn’t tell us we’re the motel would be . . The situation upset my mother in law and she was getting stressed about going to another place since we were unpacked already . We finally got the host to calm down and agreed to stay if the propane tank was filled. Next morning no hot water ! We decided to take the refund and leave ! Thankfully we found a lovely Property in Narragansett to stay at on such short notice which had had a full propane tank , a bundle of wood for a fire and even a bottle of champagne welcome gift !

Hi Maureen I am so sorry the home did not meet your expectations. When this happens I do offer a full refund and because you came from far I went above and beyond to offer you a place to stay for the night because I felt so badly that you were so upset. I did work very hard to make the house as perfect as it could be for your family and we had nice email exchanges in the months leading up to your visit. I honestly thought the new bathrooms, carpets, grill and landscaping would have surprised you and made you happy. The house you rented on line was very different. I was so excited for you to see it. I felt so disappointed by the reaction about the towel rack and was defininately hoping to hear positive feedback about the upgrades. However, I did not say the things you said I did. I do not feel as if I screamed at you. I did not speak to your mother in law as there were only two of you in the house so I am not sure how I frightened her. Your husband was delightful to speak with. 1- The propane tank was only half full, you are correct. I did not think it necessary for a full one for such a short stay but was happy to bring a new one 2- I do not supply firewood- I don't think my listing says I do but I will check and add that so people are aware. Thank you for the feedback. Most helpful - I have never had anyone be so angry with me because of this before. Even after 10 years with 3 homes I still have new experiences. 3- I had emailed to let you before your arrival to let know that the bathroom was renovated and while I thought you would be a nice surprise that you could enjoy the renovations there were imperfections (no towel holder - on backorder so I could not hang it-- in the downstairs bath, the upstairs had one) and the floor molding had not been placed yet. I do apologize for that. I would have explained how to use the new thermostatic shower system but you left prior to my being able to call you back. I also contacted the gas company to make sure there was no outage (happens sometimes) - So sorry you did not get to use the new shower system. It is very cool. I am incredibly sorry that your special weekend started like this and so happy you found a nice place to stay and enjoy your weekend with your family. Best Lori

While the location and the home's features were great, the claim that it was "newly renovated" is misleading. Most things were poorly constructed.Some of the issues : the outside shower door is uneven and locks you in or out unless you use two hands and a foot to lift the door and unlatch it (unsafe for kids). The main-floor glass shower door washanging open unsafely when we arrived- and owner knew- and said “use the other 2”. There were no keys for the home. The back sliding door was difficult to open and close and could not be locked. There was mold in the bathroom. The outdoor grill would not heat above 250 degrees. The toilet paper holder was loose and nonfunctional. The faucet in themain bathroom did not work. Keys were left on the table without any note, but they didn't seem to fitanything, keypad didn’t work. There was no warmth—no personal touches—and there was little communication. My texts went unanswered except after I called a couple of times. I received only two replies (one by text, so I know thatfeature worked), and the last response came on Friday, even though we were leaving on Sat.We won't stay here again. We've been renting in RI for about 25 years, and even though this was physically one of the prettiest and newest places we've stayed, it was disappointing.The positives were the laundry, comfortable beds, pet-friendly, and air conditioning.I've never given a poor review before, nor have I ever received a poor review from a homeowner.

Best vacation rental yet!

Great experience throughout...cottage is even better than the photos. The interior is lovely and comfortable. Washer and dryer is a plus. The backyard set up with fire pit completes the vacation feel.

RI Vacation

Lori's house was great! My family lives in RI but we wanted a vacation at the beach. The house was comfortable, in an excellent location for families, beaches, and yummy restaurants. The house has everything you need, we particularly enjoyed the outdoor shower and the backyard. We look forward to staying there again!

Quaint Eastward Look Abode

We had a very nice stay at this nicely appointed 3BR home with all amenities we desired. The neighborhood is very quiet. Its a short walk to Scarborough beach. We were cool, comfortable and well fed for the week. Who could ask for more!

Eastward Look 8/7/21-8/14/21

We had a lovely time. House was well appointed and fairly well stocked with the basics. Keypad entry was very convenient. We brought our own, but the beach wagon and boogie boards were all broken when we got there. One small note, there should be small waste paper baskets in both bathrooms and each bedroom. We would stay here again next summer.
