The host, Irene, was friendly and humorous on arrival. Speaking clearly in English which helped.I was shown how to remove the pool cover before entering the property while my partner and children went inside with our bags.After Irene left i went into the property to look about more thoroughly and found my family in total shock at the state and total lack of cleanliness and safety of our next 7 nights accommodation.Firstly it smelt of dirty dish cloths, the sink and draining board were disgusting. Food crumbs over the worktop, food in the dishwasher. Rotten apples left for us in the fruit bowl. Limescale stains in the toilets, on the bathroom taps and mould on the tiles. Weeks of dust on some of the small furnishings. It was like walking into a really stuffy dirty unloved house. The pool had green algae stains all around above the roll deck and grass growing out of the tiles, a girl recently died from an unclean pool. The Tv wouldn't load, WiFi was useless, Irene told us to open the cupboard door of the fridge if the sun was out so it would not overheat, so food hygiene was to be an issue and, as it started to turn dusk several light switches didnt work. We panicked, we spent 2 hours trying to decide what to do, should just clean it all ourselves or get our bags and leave, we left! This was about 930pm, we'd left uk 12 hours prior! We drove for an hour and a half and booked into a hotel. We didn't return to the not so charming cottage.We notified Irene of our leaving,
