Mike, If you had reviewed the information on our vrbo rental website, it clearly states, "No Air Conditioning!" Also, our expectations (rules)ask guests to maintain our home. We have rented our house for quite some time now. When we began hosting, we had no rules. Our rules came about from past experiences, where guests did not clean up after themselves. It is common sense to vacuum up when dirt, or grass is tracked in the house. Or if food & drinks are spilled, we ask guests to wipe them up as they would in their own homes. We do not feel this is asking too much of our guests. As far as having eating restrictions; we have a dinning room table with 6 chairs, a kitchen island with 4 seats, a table in our family room that seats 6, a bar with 4 seats, and a table in the sunroom with 2 chairs. With this many eating areas, we do not understand the need to take food and drinks into the bedrooms. We've had coffee & juice stains on the white bedroom carpets. PBJ & chocolate smeared on furniture, & this is the reason we ask our guests to refrain from eating in those rooms. Lastly, guests remove shoes to minimize tracking grass, dirt, and mud inside. We clean & sanitize to the Covid standards. Most take their shoes off out of common courtesy here in Vermont. Previous guests have said they practice this in their own homes, too. We do not require guests to clean for our next arrivals, we simply ask our guests to maintain the home using common sense. Thanks, Pete & Denise

Thank you for coming. The entire NE unfortunately experienced record setting heat the week you stayed in our home. Based on our past reviews, this is the first time anyone has mentioned being uncomfortable because of warmer temperatures. We cannot control the weather, but we wholeheartedly empathize with you. In the past, we've rented at the Jersey shore and it rained with minor flooding the entire week of our vacation. Our listing does state NO air conditioning. Normally, the south wind breeze coming across the lake keeps our home comfortable throughout the summer months. We are sorry the weather was a drawback for you, so we'd like to offer you a long weekend stay early fall on us.

Ashley, Jim and family were awesome guests! We had an emergency situation arise and we were unable to get back to the house to prepare for our next incoming guests. Ashley and Jim, offered to clean and sanitize our home in our absence. We cannot express our gratitude enough for their kindness helping us in this extenuating circumstance.
