LAKE House with Private Heated Pool, Great for Family Gatherings. Best View!

Hi, thank you for viewing this amazing home. This is the most relaxing place to be. It’s located in Slidell, LA on Lake Pontchartrain. It’s 5 miles across the Hwy 11 bridge to New Orleans and is less than 30 minutes to the French Quarter, Super Dome, Jazz Fest and Essence Fest. If traveling East, the House is 35 miles to the Casinos along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Enjoy breathtaking sunsets into the lake while sitting poolside or from the upstairs balcony. The porch which wraps around the whole house that will give you shade and a pleasant breeze anytime of the day.

If you love fishing and crabbing, this is the place. Fish and crabs can be caught off the pier without a boat. Fish all day and night. There is a boat launch 1 mile away. Bring your own boat and jet skis. Fishing charters are available through local fishing Captains. As of this posting the boat launch was renting boats.

There is no problem finding a spot to sunbath. The grounds spaciously accommodate outdoor activities like volley ball, football and cabbage baseball. The pool is a saltwater pool.

On the ground floor is 3800 sq. ft. of paved covered area for bar-b-q, parking cars or hanging out.

There are a total of 12 beds which are 5 king beds, 2 queen beds and 5 full beds. The house has four full baths and two ½ baths. The house has a complete kitchen, and a laundry room on each floor with a washer and dryer. We have high-speed wifi.

Towels, linens, soap, hair dryers, iron and ironing board are provided.

This large lot has parking for several cars. This is a great Home for Family Vacations and Getaways.

The house is close to many restaurants, groceries, shopping malls and more.

No Smoking. No Pets, No wild parties. This is a family venue!
Early check-ins are available at $100 per each hour prior to 3:00 p.m.
Late check-outs are free if available.

It is recommended that you purchase a vacation/trip insurance policy if some unforeseen reason you have to cancel. There are many vacation/trip insurance companies that can be found online. It is easy to do. It is required that you make all payments on time. Once a payment is 7 days late, the reservation will be canceled and no refund given.

Awesome property. Celebrated a friend's 55th bday. There 15 of us and no one felt like their personal spaces were being invaded. The pool was heated and water felt great in the 70 degree weather. Property is about 25 minutes from New Orleans. Great views with available fishing.

Great Extended Family Space

Great location. Essentials are available in Slidell, but you can easily access New Orleans. House was perfect for a crowd of over 20 people. There was great crabbing off the pier.

Great place for a large family to stay

We wanted to take the whole family to Jazz Fest. We had a total of 10 adults and 9 grandchildren 12 and under. They all loved the pool and fishing was excellent. Larry the owner was wonderful to work with through the entire process. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Great vacation

Went to celebrate a family members milestone birthday. Plenty of room for all of us and the pier was terrific. A/C worked great which was a huge plus in sweltering heat. No hot water first day but owner was quick to respond and it was back up and running on day 2. There were tvs in most of the rooms but couldn't find remote controls. Lots of restaurants and groceries nearby. Very close to train tracks so bring earplugs.

This listing has it all! Clean, close proximity to NOLA, wharf, perfect pool, large and well distributed rooms/baths. Did I say clean! Can't wait to go back next year. Larry was great to work with, you will not be disappointed.

Summer Vacation to New Orleans!

Our family spent the week at this gorgeous home during our Summer Vacation to New Orleans. This was a wonderful stay with plenty of room and many amenities! We spent many hours at the pool and enjoying the views on the deck of this lakefront house! We also enjoyed the nearby restaurants (GilliGil's Island and The Blue Crab Restaurant and Oyster Bar). This was a fantastic way to relax on the lake and be close to New Orleans. Larry was a wonderful host, and we hope to return. Definitely recommend!

Overall Great experience

Overall the experience was very nice. Eight military brothers of a special group we reunion every year with a different host. The ability to fish and crab from the pier was absolutely wonderful. Close to golf course satisfied the group that golfed. There was not a need for space, very spacious accommodations. More than enough beds and bathrooms. Some very minor aesthetics and I was looking forward to a heated pool, but did not feel heated. But I would definitely do it again. Actually considering it for next year.

More Than We Expected

We had a group of 20 adults (ages 29+) that stayed at this lake house paradise. Everything was as pictured however the pictures doesn't do this property justice. We so fell in love with this home and scenery. Waking up every morning was so peaceful and serene. The home was spacious enough for 20 adults with no problem. We used the pool everyday and even figured out how to get it heated, it was perfection. Location was 30 mins from French Quarters and 18 mins from Nola Pedal Barge so it was perfect for us. Larry was very accommodating and easy to get in touch with. I'd def stay here again and recommend it to others. You can't go wrong booking this home.

Great group house

The house is pretty much as advertised with the exception of true bedrooms. Upstairs there are two private doored bedrooms plus a large common area with two beds at each end. This worked out fine with our group since it was a 16 fathers, sons and friends. A very comfortable set up with plenty of room. The only thing we would recommend is adding a bon fire pit. It was unseasonable cold for late October so half the time it was too cold to enjoy sitting out at night.

Experience NOLA

Everything is as the description on VBRO with exception of heated pool. 56 degrees is not usable except as ice pack for tired feet after walking so much in NOLA. Family time together after Christmas. This is third house in three years. The bedrooms and baths were exceptional and the porch and outside spaces were great. Nine of my grands 18-26 were very content with space and adults were very comfortable. We came in behind another rental and things were done well except soap for washing instructions. Parking for six cars and a Bay boat and Slidell is a wonderful town with good eating places. We enjoyed the smoker for grilled oysters and bouidan as we made our own cajon delight meal.

COVID replacement wedding location

We had our plan B 2020 COVID conscience wedding in the backyard of this beautiful property and it was better than expected. While in my experience Larry is a man of few words and wouldn’t give us some of the details we asked for however it all worked out in the end. In other words Larry is NO wedding planner/Corrdinator but for the DIY bride this place is beautiful for a small backyard wedding. One thing I wanted to know before the weekend was the rooms and now they were laid out for our guests, so here goes my attempt and explaining for future guests. There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor with 1 queen bed each and there own private en-suite bathrooms. 1 bedroom on the first floor has 2 queen beds and a bathroom right outside of the door so convenient but not private, this is right near the spacious laundry room. The second floor has 4 bedrooms each has 2 beds, so 8 beds total in 4 rooms. None of these has a private en-suite but there is 1 full bath and 1 half bath upstairs. All the ladies got ready upstairs with 2 makeup and hair people using the common room upstairs to get everyone ready. There was plenty room for everyone. Hope this helps some future bride.

Gulfcoast Getaway

We had a group of four families with a total of 17 adults/young adults. Everyone had a comfortable bed (solo or a couple) and there were enough showers and sinks to keep everyone happy. The upstairs lounging area is quite nice and comfortable. The house is bright and airy with a wonderful view of the lake. Overall, it is clean and well kept but there are some specific areas of improvement that are addressed below. Access to the freeway and into the city is simple and an easy 40 minutes in off peak hours. Groceries and other daily needs are close by and easy to reach. Larry was quite responsive to checking in and was apologetic for the 90 minute delay in getting into the house while the cleaners finished up. While this was disappointing and no compensation was offered, we were able to stretch our checkout a bit without penalty🙄We had no specific needs during the rest of the stay that required his assistance. There were some downsides that caught our attention: 1) there isn’t enough comfortable seating in the main living room for the number of people the house accommodates. We pulled sitting chairs from other rooms but they were neither cozy nor comfortable. 2) the kitchen was not adequately equipped. There’s plenty of stuff but not necessarily enough of what you need (properly sized pots, cutting boards, sufficient coffee mugs, storage containers .... generally there was too much crap that had just accumulated from other guests and the kitchen just lacked any coherence. 3) there was no soap in the showers so be prepared 4) the grill looked unfit and we chose to fry our fish in the kitchen. Overall, we give it 4 stars. This is the fifth house our group has shared during the holidays in a variety of locations and while it met our needs it is probably 5th out of five in professional decor and comfort. It was also the most economical of the five, so there’s that. Still a fine house and location, just that it could use a few upgrades to truly make it the best it could be.

We had such a wonderful time at this location. We truly enjoyed all of the amenities, including the heated pool. Words can not describe the view of the sunrise and sunset each morning and evening. So calming. Breathtaking beauty. The property was clean, comfortable and beautiful just as advertised. The property owner/manager was super professional, kind, accommodating, and very responsive. when we travel this week again, it will be the same property if it’s available. Can’t wait to come back .

A perfect group house on the water

We adored our stay at the Lake House and highly recommend it! Out of all the houses we've stayed in the NOLA area this is hands-down our favorite. Larry was very responsive and check in was a breeze. We found the house very clean and well-stocked. We appreciated that the dock and pool were gated for extra safety. This spot is a bird watchers dream, it's really magical watching the herons over the lake in the morning with a coffee on the deck. Besides the scenery, the house has an ideal layout for our family gathering. There are large, open communal spaces for gathering on every level (even under the house!) but the bedrooms are private and tucked away so older folks had no problem sleeping early while others stayed up. Having two laundry rooms was a very convenient plus for our crew. The location of the house sets it apart from the neighbors and makes it feel very secluded and private, especially in the lakeside area with the pool. A perfect choice for a family reunion!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The Host was very good about responding to any questions or concerns, always responded within 30 minutes or so. The only two things we were not happy about was that every bedroom does not have a TV and, the towels, wash cloths and dish towels have a very heavy sour smell, recommend bringing them with you.
