Celebrity Host Home. Best Derby Location!
Welcome to your luxurious home away from home! This stunning property, nestled in the heart of Louisville’s coveted Cherokee Triangle neighborhood, offers the perfect blend of elegance, comfort, and convenience. Recently renovated while retaining its historic charm, this home has hosted A-list Hollywood celebrities for extended stays and boasts glowing reviews from past guests. Whether you're visiting for the Kentucky Derby (less than 5 miles away) or a relaxing getaway, our home promises the best of everything.
The 4500+ square foot home home has a lavishly appointed kitchen with a Dacor six-burner stove and double-oven, built-in refrigerator, microwave drawer, dishwasher, farmhouse sink, prep sink, custom floor to 10-foot high cabinetry, white marble countertops and 10-foot long island. A casual dining area and built-in desk is located in the kitchen space.
The first floor has a den with a spacious down-filled sectional sofa and 65-inch flat screen television, dining room with seating for ten+ and a gas fireplace, formal office, butler's pantry with 2 beer taps (we'll have them stocked for your use!), mud room, powder room and gracious foyer entry. Lighting throughout the home reflects the character.
The second floor opens to a gorgeous hall with a stunning crystal chandelier. Three bedrooms, including the main suite are located on this floor. The main bedroom has a king bed, exposed brick wall, three large windows and attached master bath with double vanities, heated Toto bidet, heated floor and marble shower. The generous main walk-in closet is connected to the home's second-floor laundry room. The two additional second-floor bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen bed, share a jack and jill bath with tub and shower combination, as well as heated marble floors.
The spacious third floor bedroom has a queen bed, full bathroom with shower, and beautiful window views of the neighborhood.
The basement was recently finished with a 110" movie screen , theatre seating, lounge, wet bar and powder room that features a bourbon barrel vanity.
While updates have been made to reflect a modern lifestyle, the character of the home have been maintained as evidenced by its original floors, woodwork, fireplaces, hardware, pocket doors and entryway.
The back of the home has a deck out the french double doors with a deck and stone patio. The entire yard, both front and back is beautifully landscaped and is fenced in the rear for privacy.

HOME ARCHITECTURE
This home is one of the earliest examples of the Tudor revival architecture style in the city of Louisville. Erected in 1896 by realtor W.C. Priest, with a first floor of yellow stone and a second floor of stucco, it was the first home built on Cherokee Parkway. The home sits just one block from Bardstown Road and one block from Willow and Cherokee Parks.
NEIGHBORHOOD DESCRIPTION
The Highlands is home to Louisville’s original “Restaurant Row” and is also known for local nightlife and shopping.
The Cherokee Triangle Historic District of the Highlands is a vibrant walkable neighborhood located just a couple miles from the center of downtown Louisville. Adjacent to the dynamic commercial district of Bardstown Road, residents are within walking distance of a diversity of coffee shops, restaurants, bars, movie theaters, boutiques, antique stores, and amenities like the hardware store, grocery and book sellers. Mature trees, some one hundred years old, line the streets, providing shade and beauty.
Historic homes reflecting an eclectic mix of architectural styles dot the preservation district. Styles include Italianate, Second Empire, Queen Anne, Richardsonian Romanesque, Neoclassical, Tudor Revival, Beaux Arts, and many more. Nearby, Frederick Law Olmsted’s Cherokee Park and Willow Park serve as an urban oasis for bike riding, walking, sledding and picnics.
Begun as an early suburb of Louisville, the Cherokee Triangle reflects the successful efforts of this neighborhood to preserve its thoughtful historic design while still providing a cosmopolitan and forward-thinking place where Louisvillians can live, work and play.
Cherokee Triangle is a thriving urban neighborhood with a rich heritage. The tree-lined streets, stone fences and brick alleys add to the character of this early city suburb. The historic district looks very much today as it did fifty, seventy-five and even one hundred years ago.

Preguntas frecuentes
Acerca del anfitrión
Anfitrión: Kristin Townsend

I am a wife, mom to two children and an Interior Decorator. While I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, and currently live there, I have also lived in Atlanta, Georgia, and New York City. My family and I have lived in Louisville, Kentucky in the historic Cherokee Triangle neighborhood for 19 years in a home built in 1896. We love being close to Cherokee park and all of the activity on Bardstown Road.
My family and I like to travel year round, but especially in the summer when our children are out of school.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad
I lived in the neighborhood while my husband and I were dating long distance. We moved away for five years to NY city, and when we had the chance to return, I knew I wanted to be back in the Highlands. I love the Cherokee Triangle historic district for it's proximity to everything!
Qué distingue a esta propiedad
Close to restaurants, bars, shopping, parks, and everything we need. We try not to use our car on weekends and stay in the neighborhood.
