Awesome family vacation!!!
We decided to finally get away for a week's vacation in the NH lakes region. I'm so glad we did, because we loved it! The house was recently renovated and the owners did a wonderful job! Three & a half bedrooms was spacious enough for our extended family of 3 adults and 3 kids (ages 9, 7, & 5). The attention to details made it not just feel rustic & comfortable but like a bit of pampering in the woods, and it was super clean. The tiki torches and built in stone fire pit made roasting s'mores an easy activity enjoyed often by the kids, while we enjoyed sitting by fire with a cocktail :) The stone steps w/accent lighting made getting around outside after dark easy & looked really nice. We grilled out back most nights while the kids played corn hole & took turns in the hammock. And of course everyone loved the outdoor shower! The house is in a great location for lake access and views - beautiful views from the yard, front porch & front room where we ate breakfast every morning. There is a private dock right across the street for easy access to swimming & docking a boat if you have one (we rented a boat for a day). While there is a slight grade to getting into the water from the edge for the little ones, it was a bit rocky, so would recommend water shoes. We ordered a big float with a ladder that we attached to the end of the dock. The kids LOVED jumping into the water from the dock & climbing back up into the raft. There are a few public beaches within a 10 minute drive also. We did have a rainy day but were easily able to entertain the kids with games available at the house (with a cool checkers table & chairs set up in the front of the living room looking out at the water). There is also an arcade and mini golf about 5 min down the road. On the rainy morning we ventured out to Heritage Farm Pancake House, where we had one of the BEST breakfasts ever!!! This place is a MUST - they serve breakfast family style with farm fresh ingredients, including their own maple syrup. And the bacon... words don't do it justice! The restaurant is on a working farm with lots of farm animals to see. The owners were helpful & attentive (checked in on us via email during our stay & sent an info sheet prior to check in), but not overbearing. We hope to stay here again - this winter to check out the local skiing and again next summer! Thanks for sharing your beautiful lake house with us Bobby!
