Our family had an amazing stay at Matilde’s and Juan Carlos’s home. They were the most welcoming hosts and made us feel comfortable right away with their great communication! We felt well informed about the house and important details like where to get groceries and tasty treats. All of our questions were answered promptly and with great detail. The property was just as described and more. The home was thoroughly clean and comfortable, the beds were comfortable, and the pool was refreshing! I highly recommend relaxing and enjoying Málaga from this beautiful location.

Lovely peaceful stay

Tucked away in mountains North of Malaga. Nice and quiet. Good facilities, and the pool was great. the hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Finca Santa Matilde

It was a wonderful place to stay and the hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. We feel as if we've made good friends with the family and very much look forward to our second stay with them from 17-31 March. 5 star people and 5 star venue.

The best find!

This villa truly exceeded our expectations. Beautiful views and surrounded by nature's finest. extremely clean and very well equipped villa. The hosts of the villa were all very helpful with their recommendations, and above all made us feel very welcome. I look forward to returning very soon to this magnificent place.

Great property, Great Hosts, Great Stay

This property is as described. Clean and well equipped. The hospitality and helpfulness of the hosts make the stay even better. Unless you are very fit “hikers” you will need a car as the property is on the outskirts of a village up a very steep track. This does make it all the more tranquil. Would recommend

Peaceful retreat with views

Wonderfully peaceful location with mountain behind and yet not far by car or bus to Malaga if you can tear yourself away from the pool, tennis court, and basketball. There is plenty of seating areas, outside dining, and sun loungers in a choice of sun or shade. Whilst the pool was a little too cold for us to use during our stay, in the height of summer this would not doubt be a haven in the heat of the day. Very friendly and helpful owner.

Even better than expected

In the midst of nature with the nicest views possible. With owners that go the extra mile for you. With all facilities you can imagine who could wish for more. On top of that only a 5 min drive to shops and tens of incredibly cheap restaurants for fishlovers and terrific beaches with no loud tourism. And even those can be found in real spanish Malaga itself 10 minutes further drive. In short the ideal holidayspot,

Rural paradise close to the city

We loved our stay in the gardener's cottage on this country estate. The setting is superb, offering a large private terrace just steps from the swimming pool (for summer stays) and hiking paths around the base of St Anton mountain. Yet the city is just a short drive away, and there is a bus stop a mere 50 metres from the property's gate that will take you to Malaga city centre in 20 minutes, avoiding parking hassles. For day tripping, there is easy access to the highway. The cottage is comfortable, and the owners are a delight, helpful and prompt to assist in any way.

A good place for relaxing and enjoying

We spent a week in this house in March, a short but intense holiday. A clean and comfortable house with a nice terrace and garden where we used to spend most of our time: we had breakfast and lunch under the tropical fruit trees!! It is a very quiet place, and we really enjoyed our “siestas” lying on loungers under the Andalusian sun. It is very easy to go to the beaches and downtown Malaga is close. There are lots to see and do in Malaga and surroundings. Malaga is a nice city, Frigiliana, Nerja, el Torcal, all very nice to see. Juan Carlos and Matilde are very welcoming and friendly people. I would recommend this place to everyone!!

Cosy wee cottage on the edge of Malaga

Gardener's Cottage is just as it appears on the website, a small, well-appointed, two-bedroom cottage in its own garden grounds that are full of sub-tropical plants. The owners live in the nearby farm-house and are very helpful and friendly. Good internet access if, like me, you want or need to stay connected. It's in the country but on the edge of Malaga, with a good bus service into the centre of town (route 34) if you don't want the expense of driving in and paying for parking. El Palo, five minutes by car, is the local and non-touristy shopping centre with supermarkets, shops and cafes.

A beautiful place to stay

The house was in a wonderful location in the countryside yet not far from the city, surrounded by mango and avocado trees. It is very quiet and peaceful. We had a lovely stay in the house and were made very welcome by Matilde, Juan Carlos and Maria Dolores. I was on a Spanish intensive course in Malaga, and Matilde and Maria Dolores kindly offered to give me extra Spanish speaking practice in the evenings, which was very helpful. They were also very generous, bringing gifts of mangoes and avocados, which were lovely. They also gave us advice about where to visit and which restaurants are good. We can thoroughly recommend a stay in this property.

We enjoyed this cottage. It is very comfortable for two people. It rained during our stay so we did not use the pool or tennis court but they looked great. The house is separate from the main house and very quiet and private. We are here during November and the heating worked well. We have stayed at many vrbo units and I have to say that our hosts were the best we have encountered. They were very easy to contact, they answered very quickly and even gave us rides when needed because we were unable to rent a vehicle. Uber is also very responsive to this location, and will meet you just outside of the gate. The driveway is very long but a pleasant walk (and we are in our 70s). It was very quick to the central city. The grounds are attractive and there are multiple spots to hang out and enjoy the quiet rural atmosphere of this very relaxing location.

Kleine, maar prima woning vlakbij Malaga.

We had a very good stay at this place nearby Malaga. There is a nice terrace, the people from the home are very kindly. Only one thing we didn't like: there were people from France in the house above us. They talk loudly by skype at the terrace and watched television with windows open and with the sound of the television very very loud. But that was (I hope for everyone) a incident. For the rest everything was perfect for us!!

An ideal location for a relaxing holiday

I really enjoyed my stay here. Matilde and Juan Carlos were so helpful and kind. They went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was enjoyable. The location is ideal. You feel in the country - surrounded by nature - and are very close to Málaga. I didn't even hire a car - it is possible to get the 34 bus, which goes from the city centre, to el Palo (the closest beach and nice reasonably priced restaurants) to La Mosca (the house) It is possible to walk to el Palo from the house also. (although I usually got the bus back home to avoid walking up the hill! 😉) I look forward to returning again soon.

Wonderful Stay

My husband and I and one of our sons stayed at Finca Santa Matilde in early October. The house was exactly as advertised, private and separate from the family house, and very clean with everything we needed. Best of all was the warm welcome and helpfulness of our hosts, Juan Carlos, who greeted us, and Matilde, who was so knowledgeable and generous with suggestions. Juan Carlos met us near Pedregalejo Beach to lead the way. My husband was clearly a little rusty driving a standard and Juan Carlos was kind enough to direct us to the grocery via the easiest route and wait for us to pick up a few things. The beach, highway, Malaga, and nearby villages were all easily accessible with our car, but there’s also a reliable bus from Malaga that stops within walking distance, partly uphill. We slept well and every morning we had breakfast outside with a beautiful postcard view of the small valley and surrounding hills. We had the pool to ourselves every day. Every evening we parked at nearby Pedregalejo Beach to look at the sunset and have dinner. There are many beachside restaurants and chiringuitos from which to choose. The first night we were tired, so we just had camperos and drinks at Mafalda. Simple, very reasonable and fast. We took every one of Matilde’s suggestions for restaurants and day trips and were never disappointed. We were pretty sure upon arrival that we’d have a great stay, and we did. Thank you, Matilde and Juan Carlos!

Agradecemos a los propietarios los días que hemos pasado alojados en la casa. Todo estaba perfectamente preparado. La casa muy limpia. Una estancia de ensueño

La estancia en esta casa rural no ha podido ser mas placentera. Une la paz y la relajación de la montaña y sus zonas verdes, al estar ubicada en plenos montes de Málaga, y el sol y la belleza de sus playas de arena fina y aguas tranquilas puesto que se encuentra a tan solo 3 km de éstas. De este modo disfrutas de lo mejor de ambos mundos durante las mismas vacaciones. La familia que regenta estas casas rurales es maravillosa, muy acogedora, y haciendo tu estancia lo mas fácil y prospera posible. En cuanto a la vivienda y a los servicios que en ella se ofrecen, se ajustan perfectamente tanto a las imágenes como a las descripciones que de ellas se hacen en la página web, pero lo mejor llega cuando lo ves por tus propios ojos, encontrándote un paraje de ensueño, lleno de posibilidades disfrutando tanto del propio entorno, lleno de paz y de tranquilidad, como de sus múltiples servicios, piscina, pista de tenis, canasta de baloncesto, comidas y barbacoas en sus diferentes cenadores al aire libre y un largo etc al que sólo le pondrá freno tu imaginación. Y a todo esto hay que unir que estamos en plena ciudad de Málaga con todo lo que eso conlleva, playas, chiringuitos, pescaito, vida nocturna... y lo que se te ocurra. En fin, un regalo para el disfrute de nuestras vacaciones.
