You won't find anything better if you want the natural solitude of the Keweenaw Peninsula combined with the beauty of Lac La Belle and the coastal atmosphere of Lake Superior. Nicolas North Lodge offers all of this and more! You'll love this rustic yet tastefully modern cabin on one of the most beautiful inland lakes in Michigan with its commanding views of Mount Bohemia situated directly across the lake.

Inside this charming log cabin you will find a gorgeous rock fireplace where you can curl up with a good book on the comfortable sectional sofa. The kitchen has a gas stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher and all the amenities for good cooking and eating, including staples and spices. Flat screen TV/DVD player and WiFi are available for your use.

The main floor bedroom has a queen bed; a second bedroom is equipped with two twin beds (trundle bed); the main floor bedrooms share an adjacent bathroom with a new walk in shower.

The third bedroom is an upstairs loft with a hickory queen bed, sitting area, and a small bathroom with toilet and sink/vanity.

There is a 3-season porch that offers outstanding views of the lake and Mount Bohemia, with access to the deck overlooking the lake. It is equipped as a 'sleeping porch' with a hickory day bed/trundle bed, and a queen air bed sleeper sofa.

In the basement level there is a full bath with toilet, shower, and vanity/sink. The cabin also comes equipped with a highchair and a porta-crib.

All linens (sheets/towels) are provided.

Enjoy the sunny deck with a table, chairs and barbecue that overlooks Lac La Belle and a panoramic view of Mount Bohemia. Enjoy the nights on the campfire patio by the waters edge.
Fishing on Lac La Belle can be done on the dock or with your own boat. Lac La Belle is known for its walleye fishery, along with bass and pan fish. Within 5 minutes you can be Great Lakes fishing in beautiful Bete Grise Bay via the natural waterway from Lac La Belle to Lake Superior. Fishing is superb for Lake Trout, Salmon, and Splake. Local charters are available for your Great Lakes fishing pleasure.

You are 5 minutes away, by boat or by land, from Bete Grise Beach which has miles of white sand shoreline for your walking, swimming or other water activities with views of one of the most scenic and pristine beaches and shoreline of the entire Great Lakes

Great Weekend Getaway

Hosts were great, gave me a call ahead of time to warn me about Google attempting to send me to the wrong address. The house was warm and inviting with plenty of space for our group. The views out the back were great, even in winter.

Perfect Log Cabin for A Winter Getaway!

We had never travelled to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan before and this VRBO was the perfect spot for what we were looking for. We are ski family that wanted to check out Mount Bohemia and Mont Ripley. This home was perfect for what our family of six needed for a winter getaway. The home was fully stocked and ready for us when we arrived. The Nicolas’s were great hosts as the provided clear directions and were always quick to respond if we had any questions. This won’t be our last visit to this magical place!

Great house on a beautiful lake!

This was our 2nd time staying at the property and I would recommend it highly. We comfortably slept 7 adults (3 couples). The house is beautiful and Lac La Belle is stunning. Quick drive into Copper Harbor and all the Keweenaw has to offer.

Best Lodge in the Copper Country!!!

My father-in-law mother and aunt stayed at the lodge for a month and absolutely loved everything about it. My family and I had a chance to visit for about a week and it was pure Michigan to its fullest. Our communication with the owners was awesome. They were very attentive, but not too attentive lol. Just absolutely wonderful thank you so much for letting us letting us enjoy your lodge!

An escape

This “cabin” is a dream property in a dream location. We explored the beautiful area but also enjoyed just relaxing on the private beach or drinking coffee on the porch that was so peaceful you could listen to the hummingbirds buzz by. I put quotes around cabin because when we showed pictures to our friends and family they said “that’s no cabin that’s a chalet”. Jim gave us many helpful tips on the area which helped us plan out our days. He even had good age appropriate suggestions for our four and six year old children. We hope to be back.

Beautiful cabin on lovely lake

This home worked perfectly for our family of five. We really enjoyed the lake access and privacy, and loved the sunsets from the fire pit. The home and kitchen were well stocked and everything was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed fishing from the dock and swimming in the lake. The cabin had close proximity to mountain biking in Copper Harbor, the Delaware mine, and other sights. The hosts were incredibly helpful and easy to work with. Highly recommend for a peaceful UP adventure!

Northern Michigan stay

We had a great time at this beautiful cabin. Impeccable!! Incredibly soft comfy beds, close to Copper Harbor (my daughter and I took the ferry to Isle Royale - enchanting!), lovely lake, fire pit! Anyway, a beautiful place. And we even saw fireworks from the dock. Highly recommend!

Excellent Cabin

Cabin is very close to Mount Bohemia and snowmobile trails. Our group had a excellent trip and enjoyed the cabin. The cabin is fully stocked with everything you need and was very clean.

Winter Ski Trip

Jim and Mary Jeans cabin is the perfect getaway in a beautiful and remote area. They are wonderful hosts and I will definitely recommend their cabin to friends and family.

Amazing Location

The location is amazing for the proximity to Mt Bohemia in the winter and right on Lac La Belle for the summer. The cabin is also bigger than the pictures led us to believe, so that was a big plus.

Ski Vacation Fun

We had an absolute blast staying at this cabin. It is a very beautiful property with an amazing view, and having 3 bathrooms to three sleeping spaces was a definite plus as well. We will definitely book this place again!!

Beautiful views and great location for skiing

Our group of five guys enjoyed this property. The 5 minute drive to Mount Bohemia couldn’t be beat and we enjoyed the views of the hill from the house. The kitchen is well stocked, and the beds and furniture are all comfortable. The owners provided good recommendations and communication with them was easy.
