Located on East Gordon Street, this smartly renovated cottage is the perfect retreat for a couple or family looking to stay in style in the historic district. A private parking space is located directly behind the property, and there is plenty of non-metered parking in the front.

Gordon Cottage features a spacious living room with large, inviting sofas perfect for lounging. The adjoining dining room can comfortably sit four, and is conveniently connected both to the bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen has all the conveniences you could need, including plenty of counter space, a breakfast nook, and a washer and dryer tucked away in the back corner.

Up the stairs you’ll discover two large bedrooms. The primary bedroom features a king size bed and flat screen television. The second bedroom offers two, comfy twins, perfect for friends, family or kids! Making your way to the back of the home, you will locate the beautiful, serene, private courtyard.

Good Place to Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Gordon Cottage was a great place to stay for my friends’ trip. Great location, comfortable accommodations, and cute backyard patio. The only drawback was the house did not have hand soap, hand towels or soap/shampoo/conditioner for the shower, which I trust will be corrected for future stays.

Great location

The location is very walkable ( just not in the summer, too hot). The property is very clean and the shower is wonderful with great water pressure. Like some reviews mentioned the staircase is very steep and slippery. The kids fell several times. Out of the 3 beds one was great the king bed andbone of the twin beds were very lumpy and uncomfortable. Overall a great place to stay especially withkids.

In town for Natl Beta Club Convention

Would definitely stay here again. Suited our needs just perfectly. Location was wonderful. Parking was a plus. I had read all of the reviews so I knew what things were not in the kitchen and brought them myself , such as a cookie sheet.

Excellent location, very clean and modern

We loved this accommodation! Very roomy for two people, great location near Clary's and several squares. It was quiet. It was clean & comfy. One tip: the bedroom facing the street has a LOT of natural light, so bring an eye mask and you'll be golden. Decorations are great and there are several good photo opp areas in the house. A family of four could easily stay here.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Four adults stayed at Gordon Cottage. The rental was clean and was adequately appointed for us. Location was just under a mile from the riverfront, so very walkable.The townhouse could use a coat of paint throughout, and as others have mentioned, the stairs are not easy, so anyone with mobility concerns should not stay here.The attached townhouse was playing music from about 9:30pm-7:30am very loudly. We asked him to turn it down for the third night and he gladly did so.

It was well maintained except for the tub that didn't drain properly. As other reviewers have commented, having the only bathroom on the first floor was a little inconvenient but we were able to manage. The bottom of the stairs are a bit awkward and you need to be cautious. We enjoyed the patio in the back.

Great location but…

We loved the location of this property and nearly walked everywhere. The place was charming and the parking spot was a great added bonus…however, given that we only really used the place for sleeping, the biggest disappointment was the beds. All three of the beds were so incredibly uncomfortable and noisy. An investment needs to be made in the mattress department.

Great trip to Savannah

This property is approximately 25 minutes from the airport (our Uber rides were $65 there and $40 back). Thankfully the house was ready a couple of hours early and we were able to check in. It was easy to get in with a code and the property managers were very kind and easy to work with. The house smelled a little musty when we first got there, but it had been closed up. It was clean, but could definitely use a good deep clean. The outside of the refrigerator was dirty as were the rugs upstairs and the bathroom floor. It didn't ruin our trip by any means, but could use a good scrub. Other than that, some of the things that other reviews mentioned we noticed as well. Yes, the stairs are steep. Not a reason to leave a bad review, but good for people to be aware of. Also, the tub drained very slow which made it slippery. Again, just a potential safety thing. As far as everything else, you could just tell that it was a business that owned it and not a person. Only one extra blanket, no salt/pepper (although a stocked kitchen), no cushions on the chairs out back etc. As far as the location, you're about a mile from River St. Easily walkable, seemed safe after dark. We enjoyed our stay.

Lovely area of Savannah

The home is located in the historic district of Savannah, and we could walk to many places of interest. It is located very close to a Kroger’s grocery store as well. If I could make some suggestions, they would mostly have to do with the kitchen. There’s a large fridge, oven/stove, and microwave, but there are no potholders, no baking sheet, and only one dish towel, which made using the oven challenging. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but little things (like tissues and hand soap in the kitchen, as well as the suggestions mentioned) would be welcome improvements.

Location is excellent, everything you need, but a few problems

For the most part the apartment was great but one of the twin beds was broken and so my daughter had to sleep on the couch downstairs. We reported it to the property manager and I feel confident they will send someone to fix it so this is not likely to be an issue for the next renter, but for us it was a minor inconvenience. On the upside, she said the couch was fairly comfy. We also did not expect the bathroom to be downstairs so near to the common space and not upstairs near the rooms. But we liked the location and the place is perfectly equipped with everything you could need and was very clean.

A few areas that you should be aware of...#1 the parking space is in the rear of the house but only the front door can be used to enter. There is an alley but someone put a recycle bin against the gate. #2 the only bathroom is on the first floor. Normally wouldn't be an issue but if you are upstairs you need to come down the very steep steps with the bottom being varied heights and almost spiral. There should be illumination of the bottom stairs. Would not recommend to anyone with children or anyone with balance/mobility issues.The kitchen is equipped w pots and pans but no oils, spices etc. Most Airbnb and Vrbo properties do have basics. Which brings me to the paper products...Cheap cheap and minimal! Guess this is the difference between a Corporate rental and owners taking care of guests.

Charming Cottage

Cottage location is perfect and accessible to downtown and riverfront. Quiet street and walkable to parks and market. It's perfect for a short stay. Bedding was a little uncomfortable. (need upgrading)

So happy we stayed here.

We loved the Gordon Cottage. It was so much better than staying at a hotel and cheaper while our daughter was as SCAD. The place is decorated so cute, extremely clean, fairly quiet neighborhood, and having a parking spot was such a bonus. Loved how close it was to Kroger too! While we only cooked once, having a fridge and microwave and ability to do laundry was also a huge plus. Very pleased with our stay here and will likely stay again if our daughter ends up going to SCAD.

Gordon Cottage

Lovely residential neighborhood, very walkable to everything. Easy street parking plus designated spot. Very comfortable space. Lucky Savannah was terrific to deal with, extremely responsive and always pleasant. On the negative side, bathroom downstairs while bedrooms are upstairs is very inconvenient. The steps are steep but at least an exterior handrail was installed. Also lighting is an issue in two places. The bathroom sink is poorly lit and the laundry area has no overhead lighting. Overall, a very good place.

Great for Family

The house was great for my family of 4. The check in process was amazing. The only con is the home has 1 bathroom which is difficult with teenage girls. The drain for the bath tub/shower was very slow. The location is great and offers free parking in the front of the home if you get there early. There is parking around the back that unfortunately has poison ivy/oak around the fence so be careful opening the fence. Overall great stay the house has everything you need for a great stay. The owners utilize an app which is great. The app allows information from the house to the things in the area right at your fingertips.

Gordon Cottage Stay

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Gordon Cottage was beautiful, well furnished and very clean. It had a nice, private backyard. It was in a good, quiet neighborhood, close to what we needed. I had a few concerns. We arrived on Thursday afternoon. The television in the living room did not work. I sent two emails and called the service. I was on hold for 20 minutes and hung up. I sent text messages the next day and was assured the problem would be fixed. It wasn't. Every day I received promises and excuses. After 5 days, the evening before we left, I was told that they didn't guarantee that the cable would work anyway. Also, the bedrooms are upstairs and the only bathroom is downstairs. To get ready you have to cart everything down very steep, narrow stairs. The stairs are also an adventure when you want to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. You need to have mountain goat DNA. I would not recommend this place for older adults or young children. Finally, the kitchen had pots, pans and dishes, but nothing else. If you want to cook something, you have to supply everything or eat out, which we did. The good news, downtown Savannah is only 5 minutes away.

Pretty Good

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the place was clean and had a great kitchen. My only feedback would be the front living room had a terrible smell. We tried Febreeze and it just kept coming back, it was so bad we would not even sit in there which was disappointing as that is the main sitting area in this rental. Next thing, for any future guests the stairs are extremely steep and slippery. DO NOT WEAR SOCKS TO WALK DOWN. Also due to the stairs I would say this unit is not small child friendly. Lastly, the bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs, so this can be aggravating having to go down the steep stairs every time you need to use or get to the bathroom.
