Welcome to your perfect home-away-from-home in the Ironwood area! Minutes from 5 Downhill and 3+ great Nordic ski areas. One mile from the ATV/Snowmobile trail with access from the house. Close to countless waterfalls, The Gile flowage, and Lake Superior.

Relax and unwind in the two-person indoor HOT TUB or enjoy a movie night on the 50" flat-screen TV. Sleep soundly on a luxurious memory foam king bed in the master bedroom or a cozy queen bed in the guest room, which also features a washer and dryer tucked into the spacious closet.

Pristine clean and quiet location

This property was probably the cleanest one we’ve ever been to. I don’t think there’s a single thing that they’ve forgotten to provide. The property manager was very quick to respond to any of my messages. The neighborhood was very quiet. We felt very much at home here.

Great place to stay

House was cozy and clean. The host was accommodating and response was very prompt. House was close to restaurants, shops and ski resorts.

Wonderful house and location

My husband and our son joined me and we absolutely loved the bear den. It was exactly what we needed. We brought our clothing and groceries and just enjoyed the house. Very cozy close to everything a beautiful location. We had the best of both worlds Michigan and Wisconsin. The house is extremely clean and the beds comfy as can be. After a day of hiking at Porcupine Mountain the jacuzzi was the best. We grilled all of our dinners and for lunch the wonderful people at “ Bread Superior “ made our sandwiches their bread us the best!!! It’s eight minutes from the house. Our first night after driving all day the “ Iron Nugget” was very welcoming wonderful staff as well as great service and large portion dinner. My family thoroughly enjoyed all the games too as we had one rainy day and we ventured out to the Cranberry bogs and enjoyed the games and tv. On our last day we went to Bayvisw, Wi and did the “ Fruit Loop “ tour of orchards which were beautiful some with wild flower fields and all the welcoming people. We also sampled some wine and listened to music. The “ Bear Den” is the perfect vacation home and Tracey is the best hostess. We will definitely return one day.

Anniversary getaway recharge

The Bear Den was so cozy and well appointed. We enjoyed kicking back, relaxing, recharging and getting away from our normal hectic work schedules. Perfect location for hiking, waterfalling, and seeing the sights. Our hosts were wonderful, communication was excellent, and we had everything we needed to make our stay so enjoyable. Would highly recommend staying here and hope to again in the future!

Best Ever Property

The Bear Den was stocked with everything (and more) that one would need in staying away from home for an extended stay. Tracy was very responsive to our communications. Highly recommend to (this) couple who have traveled and stayed in many VRBOs.

Clean and cozy

Property was very clean and cozy. Owner communication was above par. Entertainment systems were a plus for the down times. Good jumping off point for lots of sight seeing! Only moot point was we would have liked hotter water for bathing. Will definitely recommend this VRBO to others.

Cozy Bear Den

We enjoyed our stay at the Bear Den. It had absolutely everything you could need and more and it was super clean. We were very comfortable there and enjoyed our trip up to the UP Michigan. We will definitely be back.

Starting point for Porcupine Mtns

This property is perfect for a couple or small family. Calling it the "Bear's Den" hardly describes the wonderful interior decor. Very good wi-fi. Host's dining recommendations were spot on.

Excellent!!!

The property is maintained extremely well. The house is wells stocked and everything is perfect! The snowmobile trails are 1/2 mile from the house so it is easy to ride to and from the trails. I can say enough how great this was!!

The Bear Den is a Winner

What a wonderful place to stay for our ski/snowshoe long weekend! The house was conveniently located close to the trails, and it is as cute as it is cozy. The full kitchen has everything you need, and the beds are especially comfortable. The hot tub was also a nice treat after a day of skiing and snowshoeing. The place is very clean and really felt like home away from home. Tracy is a wonderful host. We’d absolutely recommend the Bear Den to others and hope to return soon!

Family Wedding

The Bear's Den worked out great for our stay. We were in town for a family wedding and found the home cozy, clean and very comfortable. My husband and adult son especially loved the hot tub!

Great place!

This was a great place for a weekend stay! We we're snowboarding on the near mountains and enjoyed the hot tub for some relaxation at night. We would recommend this place to others looking to get close to the slopes or looking to get out on the trails.

Clean &Cozy

We were very pleased with our stay at The Bear Den! You can certainly tell that Tracy & Lee truly care about their home & guests! They have everything you would need and more during your stay! I found Tracy very easy to communicate with (never spoke with Lee, but I imagine it’d be the same)!!! The home is in an excellent location to be able to go many different adventures! We look forward to staying here again! 😊

Affordable stay in UP

We'd been to Ironwood many years ago and returned with our family to explore the UP. Ironwood was our home base and the house was nice to return to each evening! We had the option of moving from town to town but hotels were a little more expensive in other places and some other rental homes wanted longer stays. This home fit our needs, was close to stores for supplies and was a great price. Owner was supper helpful with answers to questions leading up to the trip and the few we had during our stay.
