Historical 1902 house with off-street parking. We are three blocks from the beach. Two beach chairs are provided. Features include a private back patio with a tropical setting, Wi-Fi, Smart 32" TV with DVD and Google Chromecast, washer/dryer, central air and electric heat. 1 BR with an additional pull out couch in the LR. It is located in the historic San Jacinto district of Galveston and within walking distance of many of the island's feature attractions. A beautiful place for couples.

The Mermaid House was perfect for our couples getaway. The house was clean, close to the beach and restaurants. The outside lights weren’t working the 1st night but Rhonda was very quick to get them fixed. The kitchen has everything you need. We were so thankful for the off the street parking because out front you may have issues finding parking close to the house. The house was beautiful and comfortable, I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Thank you!

Well, when you say you would stay here again that tells you a lot! Great additional parking pad in alley with safe fence access( parked there a lot because street parking usually taken. Wonderful patio to relax on. Rhonda’s husband was walking their dog when we arrived and he helped us park and gave us tips. Clean comfortable cottage perfect for my granddaughter and me. Had anything you would need for a stay(very thoughtful) Great-great location for everything, easy to beach, shops and restaurants. So in summary- loved it and would stay again! BIG PLUS- I left over 1000 dollars worth of jewelry in a velvet pouch on bed….they were so honest and kind, they let me know and mailed to me fedx…..thank God for honest folks still out there who truly care about those who stay with them….if I could give them 10 stars I would!!!

We had an amazing stay at this beach house! The home was clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The bedroom was cozy and comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked, and the outdoor space was perfect for morning coffee. Communication with the host was easy and friendly throughout our stay. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a relaxing beach vacation.

Communications with the host, Ms. Rhonda, was top-notch. She responded right away with answers to our concerns/questions about the amenities on the property. It's an older house built in the 1900's and it kinda reminds me of the type of house I grew up in. :)The living room/kitchen area is very cool/cold (needed a blanket while watching TV), but the bedroom, which is located in the rear of the house, was not as cool. It was sort of warm and stuffy. The ceiling fan helped a bit to keep the bedroom comfortable at night. I also brought a desk fan that helped tremendously. The property did fit the need for our short 3-night getaway for our anniversary. The beach was about 3-4 blocks from the property (was too far for me to walk, it was too hot - July) LOL Rhonda had a bottle of wine in the refrigerator for us, which I thought was a nice gesture. The house is suffice, in my opinion, for a short stay.

I absolutely loved the little beach house. Rhonda was very tentative. The home was very cozy. Enjoyed reading a little about the history in the house.The fresh paint looked fabulous and I loved loved the plants in the backyard. I can’t wait to return to see the lemon tree. I highly recommend staying at the little beach House in Galveston.

We enjoyed our stay so much! It was the perfect getaway for us. The cottage was so cozy and welcoming. You could feel the history in the home in a way that that just isn't possible in a cookie cutter condo or hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at this beach cottage. It was very clean and quaint, and the quiet neighborhood made it especially relaxing. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evenings. The cottage is also an easy walk to the beach and several restaurants. The host was great, and we would definitely come back again.

The host was very easy to engage with. The home is very cute. The location was nice and easy to access the beach. Unfortunately it was very quite dirty. I believe there was black mold in the home and I became ill with a sinus infection shortly after our stay. Again, it’s a cute home, but needs some rehab and deep cleaning.

This is a great place if you like to get out of the action at the end of the day- or anytime. It is quiet and private. The front porch and back patio are great places for morning coffee and evening relaxing.

San Jacinto was exactly what we needed, cutest little house and close to the beach! Rhonda was amazing and promptly answered all of my questions! Would definitely stay here again!

Baby moon trip

We had a wonderful time staying at the cute little house Rhonda provided! The house was just as pictured and located in a perfect spot right near the main seawall. The free beach access with chairs/umbrella was also such a huge bonus for us. We’d love to come back again!

This house was perfect for a romantic getaway with my husband! Poretto beach was literally a 2 minute drive and was very nice and not over crowded. The strand is a 5 minute drive. Check in was easy. House is super cute and set up nicely. Would definitely reccomned this rental.

My Husband and I came down to Houston in 2005. We are originally from Kentucky. We fell in love with Galveston many years ago, while visiting. Of course, as soon as we moved to Houston, we made a "bee-line" to Galveston! We first became week-enders; and now live in Galveston!

We became week-enders down from Houston in 2006. We fell in love with this little house for it's 1900 charm. We went into the back yard and saw the beautiful sitting area under the giant oak trees and were SOLD….we have had many wonderful times here, with family and friends! Our Little House is in the quiet San Jacinto neighborhood on the desirable East End of Galveston. We are 3 blocks from the beach, and close to private Paretto Beach.
