We had a great time. We really enjoyed the outdoor bathroom once we got there but felt surprised by the lack of 2 bathrooms indoors. This was in a real neighborhood and reasonably priced. We traveled with our children and they honestly had a great time.

We really enjoyed our stay. It’s an older home in a very quiet neighborhood. It was clean and very comfortable. The property management company iTrip was very quick to respond to all messages. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we extended our stay which iTrip made easy to do. We traveled with our 4 little dogs. The pet fees were a little high at 300 plus fees per dog. At least it was a one time fee and not any kind of daily fee. It was totally worth it to have our fur babies with us. The property does have a fenced yard that would be great for medium to large dogs but had a lot of gaps small dogs can get out. Overall we loved our stay and are looking forward to staying at the Happy Gecko again.

The overall home condition was okay but I feel it was a 3 star stay due to the dog hair found everywhere, from the stove top to my kids bed (the trundle), it does not appear the house was thoroughly cleaned. The property management was very responsive on the AC issue we had a day into the stay but we did not hear back on the dog hair comment. I washed all the sheets we used and we were mostly at the beach which helped, but a vacation rental should feel clean above everything else.

Our host was very helpful. But unfortunately we did have some issues per stay. The grass was only mowed twice in 35 days. The kitchen sink backed up and plugged every day. The ice maker in fridge only worked about every 3 days. The pots and pans to prepare meals were very old and worn out. We did bring some of the items addressed to the host

Another Great Stay in Sarasota

We, my wife and two dogs, had a second (2023 and 2024) month long vacation in Sarasota, FL. The house location and the house itself, is perfect with for us with a beautiful pool and plenty of room for our guests. We are definitely going back next year!

Olive Ave Sarasota

The house was effect for us. It was spacious enough for us and our dogs and company. There was a new gas grill that we put to use and the pool was clean and warm! You must access the second bathroom by going out side the house but it was clean and the shower was great. We hope to return next year!

Dirty and Run Down

I was looking forward to my 2-week stay at this property especially after reading reviews on both websites. When I checked in, I noticed the floor was gross. While walking bare feet you were picking up crumbs with every step. I swept the floor within minutes (wish I could attach the photo!) After that, I found the dishwasher was not run and had dirty dishes. The washer had wet towels. The dryer had towels. The roadside trash cans were completely full and couldn’t be taken out for seven more days (so I couldn’t put my own trash or recycling out), the outside trash cans had trash on the ground. The pool guy came my first day (without being notified) and about an hour he left, we got in and found the pools surface covered in dead bugs. The whole 2-week stay the pool had LOTS of bugs floating. Without notice, my first morning someone let themselves in after I didn’t answer the knock (it qas early morning and I’d just had a 22-hour international travel day). I was in bed and not appropriately dressed. On two other occasions outdoor workers came (pool/yard) without notice and i May have been walking around thinking it was private :/. Beyond the cleanliness and communication, the house is run down. There’s tape covering a step because it’s so cracked. The toilet paper holder doesn’t hold paper, the floor has cracks. I was offered slightly over 100$ for the cleanliness issues, but with the price of this rental that didn’t make a dent in the issues. Wouldn’t reCommen

Dear Kara, we are sorry about the cleanliness issues. The cleaners for this home are usually good but it seems like they missed a couple of things. We typically would have sent them back to correct their mistakes. Since you have already cleaned, we hoped you would take our compensation as our apology for the trouble. The city picks up the trash weekly. The pool is serviced weekly to make sure its in good shape for guests. This is noted in the welcome book. Landscaping is also done every other week or so. They work outside and do not need to go inside the home. For the gentleman that went inside, we did inform you that someone will be stopping by to drop off an item for you. It was his misunderstanding. This was a one time mistake and is not part of our normal business practice. For that, we are very sorry. -Anh, iTrip Sarasota and Venice

It doesn’t get any better than their customer service. I was able to text with our personal contact and she instantly responded to all of my questions pre-trip and during our stay. I can’t recommend them highly enough and will 100% use them again!

Nice house with heated pool(extra fee) and nice fenced uard

The house was great for our needs and was pet friendly The few small issues were addressed quickly. The pool cage needs some work. The pool was very nice and kept sparkling clean. It was nice having two tv areas. One bathroom was fine for the 2 of us. The 2nd bathroom being outside may be an issue for a larger group
