Very nice home just outside Brenham. Very quiet and the home is newer with great amenities. The pool and patio are amazing perfect place to unwind. The hosts were great and easy to work with even suggesting many great places to eat in the area. We plan on coming back soon.

How far this is one of the most immaculate vacation spots that my family has stayed at. It was close enough to the city far enough away till you felt like you could unplugged. You didn’t have to go anywhere because there is plenty to do on the property of the entire time and the host. Make sure you absolutely did not need to go anywhere because anything you possibly could need within the Home was already there waiting for you. We will definitely be booking again when we’re back in Brenham.

The property is beautiful and peaceful. The interior is tasteful and clean. Our college aged boys enjoyed all of the activities from fishing in the catch and release pond, chipping golf balls, ping pong, poker table, etc. Allowing pets is a definite plus. The owner is accommodating & responsive. We’d love to come back!

This house is half House/Half Barn. The back door is 200 years old and will not lock, so you cannot fully secure the house. We found mouse droppings behind pillows on the two downstairs beds. MOUSE DROPPINGS ON BEDS!!!!!! When I complained, the host said, "surly you understand field mice." The hot tub is not Hot, but for an extra 100 they will cut it on for ONE night and it may take hours to heat up (It did cut on, but it never got hot while we were there). The bathroom doors are pocket doors and will not close all the way nor lock so have fun trying to use the restroom. Lastly, we parked in the designated parking spots and check out was at 11am. About 10am, the water sprinklers came on and soaked our vehicles. I asked the host to please cut them off so we could finish loading our vehicles and he said that he cannot control them. OVERALL this was the worst property that I have ever stayed at even though the host was nice and accommodating with check in.

Kevin was under aged and don't know why VRBO allowed his booking and will not support me as a Super Host! I have ordered a special part for back door to lock, I am in the Country isolated from anyone with zero crime. I treated twice last month for mice and there is no more, sorry he found a few dots. He had latch extended and slammed pocket door which damaged hardware. Kevin asked to heat pool spa at 9pm "Hey Mr David Its Kevin here at the barndaminiom Is the pool heated? Does the hot rub work?" I started Spa and also set to run the following night as well. This is an extra fee which I did not charge since his timing was poor. I will reset Sprinklers earlier in morning , jets water yard not the parking court. Complained their was food/ condiments in frig., explained Breakfast is included with stocked kitchen. Group of 4 used 15 towels in a 2 night stay! Kevin asked to drop off luggage early which I said sure, arrived 3 hrs early and stayed. I also gave him a $70 bordeaux wine for a Wedding present. This is a fellow Aggie who needs to growup!

Wonderful Experience

What an Amazing home & property! It was so nice and relaxing & really felt like you were at home! Lots of activities for the kids too including fishing & the Koi pond. We absolutely loved it & will definitely be back!

Excellent Stay

We had an amazing holiday vacation in this beautiful barn home. The whole house well well set up for families with tons of amenities. The kitchen is a chef's dream! The beds were all comfortable and there was plenty or room to either be together or spread out. We loved fishing in the ponds and walking the property. Lots to do and so close to town! We will stay again!

BEAUTIFUL!

The property was beautiful and decorating incredibly. Beds were comfortable as well as the pillows. There is a large fireplace, so it was very calming to sit in front of it in the evenings and relax and visit. It would've been better if there were 2 full baths on the first floor we didn't have to share with our friends but we made it work. Would definitely stay there again.

Nice Home

This was a very nice home in the country. We had adults, 3 infants and a toddler. The stairs were hard to get up and down with suitcases and the loft beds are a challenge to get in without bumping your head. The home has all you need. It was fun to fish in the large lake and my grandson enjoyed seeing the goldfish in the small lake. The owner was very responsive.

great country experience

The house and property were as charming as advertised . Our host David was very accommodating to our request for additional fire wood etc .This house very convenient to Brenham and the sites around this area. .On the slightly negative side the primary bedroom had only a double bed which wasn't clear from the listing and the pantry and fridge were pretty full with the owners stuff .and since we were staying for a week we had to make room for our food and groceries in the coolers we brought and in the adjacent barn/garage. We would definitely consider staying there again

Thanks Ralph, Glad you enjoyed and yes I keep every Condiment, spices and food for Breakfast so people don't have to go out and buy. All bedrooms have queen beds except the kids which has 3 twins. Thanks again and please come back!

Amazing Family Getaway

We had an excellent pre-Christmas country getaway with our family to this property. The home is top quality gorgeous with the perfect set up for our two families with 2 queen bedrooms down and a queen bedroom and another with 3 twins upstairs. There was plenty to do- our favs included fishing and patio sipping. Kitchen was stocked for us to make dinner but there's not too much room for personal food in the fridge. We thought the home was on more land than it looks like in pictures but the other home on property did not have an tenants so it wasn't a huge deal. Loved walking around downtown Brenham one day and visiting Blue Bell. Owner was extremely responsive and helpful when we had a few questions. Loved getting to know sweet Gracey and it was hard to leave her! We would absolutely return to this country retreat!

Exceeded expectations

Everything about this place was top notch! From the moment you walk in, you are impressed with the space and the charming decor. The vibe is fabulous antique finds! The layout is great for families- especially if you have little ones! The kitchen is fully stocked with a bonus of fresh eggs in the fridge for your breakfast. Every bed was comfortable and provided a great night of sleep! The place was extremely clean and well kept. Sitting outside on the porch with a cup of coffee was the perfect start to the day. There are so many interesting birds and wildlife to enjoy. The ponds add so much to the scenery and peacefulness of the outdoors - but they also provide a lot of fun! Our grand baby was delighted with feeding the coi fish, while a few of the adults did the catch and release in the bigger pond. We rented both houses and found this to be the perfect spot for our family to gather for our daughter’s wedding weekend in Brenham. We would definitely book this place again. I’d love to see it on the fall and spring! Highly recommended!

Girls group for RT 2023 spring show

The property is lovely and clean. Overall, we had a great visit. A couple of notes for future guests: The only staircase to the upstairs is a tight spiral. There is only one a/c control which is located on the first floor and the upstairs temp is warmer than the downstairs. When our first guest arrived at the house, she adjusted the thermostat. She noticed the temp cont. to change back after several attempts to adjust it. I received a call from the property owner who told me the thermostat was on a schedule and asked what was wrong and why we were trying to adjust it. Apparently he controls it from afar and it would be helpful if this was listed in the description. This practice on his end continued the duration of our stay. Also, property owner has family that lives on the property. Our girlfriend that was first to arrive by herself was surprised by a gentleman coming into the house and lingering. She said he seemed to be harmless but it was uncomfortable. He insisted on taking her in his vehicle over to the house he and his wife live in and she was trying to be polite and went along. He asked her if we were planning to get naked and run the property. Keep in mind she was there alone trying to unpack and meet up with us but got held up for 2hrs and didn’t get to come. There are very friendly dogs on property. The German Shepard is a sneaky rascal and enjoyed a lovely bag of nuts he grabbed off the porch while our first friend to arrive unpacked.

I asked Margaret to remove this review (which she agreed) as it was 3rd hand info and many untruths. -Her guest drove from Austin to wrong house with trailer and couldn't back out 1/4mi., next door owner was trying to help her. He directed her to Barn and where to enter, asked if she needed help unloading all items brought. -She didn't know how to operate AC, and asked him to check it. -Then she asked to be driven around neighbors property because she said it was so Beautiful. Delay was created by her alone! This guest has a twisted mind about her experience and carried a gun! I heard of issues thru neighbor and called Margaret who new nothing about what was going on.

House was perfect for our stay while enjoying Round Top antique show.

Beautiful setting, a well appointed home with lovely furnishings. Very comfortable for all of us.

A weekend in Brenham

The house is amazing along with the property. There has been phenomenal work done on this house and it is extremely comfortable with all that is there. The kitchen and pantry, the bathrooms, they are all supplied with all the necessary little things that one might think they need to bring. This is an awesome place for two families to enjoy a great weekend in the country. The owners were awesome in their communication and their overall accommodations for some small requests. If there was a way to give an extra star I would certainly give it. Will certainly look to this property again.

Great family fun weekend

Property was perfect for our family to gather for a weekend. We had room to spare and felt at home right away. Dogs on property were so sweet! Was great to be able to bring our dogs as well. Not many upscale homes allow pets so that was a huge bonus for us. Loved the concrete floors and eclectic décor. Only complaints were that the ice maker did not work or at least we couldn't figure out how to turn it on so we just bought a bag of ice (minor issue). A bigger issue was that the internet was not working. We were provided WIFI information prior to check-in but that Network did not seem to exist. We tried connecting to the existing network but it was super slow. Kids just used our hot spots when needed. Unfortunately this meant that none of the TVs worked because they also couldn't seem to connect to the WIFI. The outdoor TV did not have a remote. This was all a bit annoying but we really weren't there to watch TV so it was ok. We were so busy that I never reached out to the Host to try to get resolution so it's really on us. I would happily return but maybe having a little booklet with info on resetting the WIFI or where TV remotes can be found would be super helpful for others. ALL in all we had a fantastic stay and would love to return. Thanks for sharing your place for the weekend!

Great country home for multi-generational family gathering

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is set up well for families or groups. The upstairs is decently separated from the downstairs so it's great for kids or separate families. The property is beautiful and the dogs are sweet. We would definitely stay here again.

60 years of friendship reunion

What an amazing place!! The pictures do not do justice for this amazing home, furnishings and building layout. How fine it was to see both the sunrise and sunset comfortably sitting on the front or back porch. The resident dogs wandering about were an absolute delight. And; the location is perfect! We have decided this amazing abode will be a yearly retreat for our group !!
