Featuring tree-top views of Lake Travis, this condo is the perfect spot for anyone looking for a weekend-getaway OR those looking for a break from the city (be sure to ask about extended-stay discounts!). With vaulted ceilings and lots of windows, Once Upon A Shore offers an abundance of natural light. Life is better at the lake.

(As of April 2026, The Island HOA has temporarily closed the indoor pool following recent engineering inspections. Out of an abundance of caution, they have drained the pool and restricted access to the area while further evaluations and repairs are underway. Wonderful Getaway

We loved our stay at Once Upon a Shore. The Condo was wonderful and clean. The amenities were amazing, we used the indoor pool often. Everything went smoothly including check in, and check out. Highly recommend!

Beautiful condo

Once Upon a Shore was a gorgeous property with a view of the lake and even better than expected from the pictures. All the small touches and the hospitality of the Host enhanced our stay.

Great Weekend!!!

Girls trip. 3 generations Condo very nice, had every thing you needed!! Beautiful setting. Pool areas very nice Enjoyed seeing all the deer around the area. New opening of restaurant Enjoyed very much. Owner and staff very personable. Food was great !!! All in all a great visit. Hope to come again.

Oasis

Cant say enough great things about this place... its a private island... 2 big out door pools w 2 Jacuzzis... overlooking the beautiful lake. 1 giant indoor pool with jacuzzi aswell... we enjoyed all of them daily!!! .. fitness room has all the state of the art equipment and a bonus Sauna which was awesome after a nice dip in the pool. The condo was immaculate with 2 spacious bedrooms and baths...one of the bathrooms was humongous. With giant shower stall...double sinks and a BIG jet tub...AND a massive walk in closet!! Couldnt ask for anything more...fully equipped kitchen and washer dryer...We enjoyed hanging out on the comfy patio furniture on our private balcony and watching deer running around everywhere. Truly, one of the BEST vacations we have ever had. ❤️

Almost nice

So this is a nice place but inside pool was closed outside pools are so hot due to no shade all afternoon that it’s like swimming in a hot tub. Our unit was nice if you didn’t look too close cob webs on the roof, paint peeling around the bathroom vent AC didn’t work well and took a full day to get cool. The extra AC unit in the Master pops the breaker and and was not attached to the outside vent so hot air was coming in. I fixed that but with a little effort this place could be nicer. Ataman has leather peeling off.

We are sorry to hear that you did not have a better experience. The Island is doing renovations to the indoor pool which is out of our control. The HOA said the renovations should be completed soon to provide an even better indoor pool experience for future guests. We are sorry to hear that the breaker tripped causing the unit to be warmer than usual but glad that you were able to reset the breaker to bring the temperature down. We provide Central AC as well as a portable AC to ensure the unit is cool and comfortable.

Great location

Our stay was pleasant. Steven the host was very kind and accommodating. He even extended our check out time to 12 pm. The unit was clean and well stocked. However there were a couple of things that weren’t awesome. The a/c needs work. It took a very long time to cool. But eventually did. The host tried to arrange repair twice but had cancellations each time. The ceiling fan in the living room wouldn’t move very fast, which was important since the a/c was struggling. But there were box fans in the closets so that helped a lot. The unit needs some updates for sure for the hefty rental price. $750 for two nights! But overall the stay was good.

great Memorial Day stay

Everything went well - issue came up with a pump in the building which caused AC to be out for awhile but was fixed same day and there was a back up AC unit in the condo which I was able to utilize. Well stocked kitchen. WiFi worked well. I didn't realize how low the water was around and in Lake Travis - we had to drive down the road a bit to be able to launch jetskis.

Awesome retreat

What a great place to get away. Base camp to go into Austin for events but able to come back to the island and get away.

Nice condo

We had a pleasant stay at the two bedroom unit on the Island at Lake Travis. It was beautiful and well furnished. The welcome basket of snacks, water and wine were very much appreciated. Everything was very clean and all of the appliances were in working order. Thank you for renting this unit to us, I’d recommend it to friends and family and I’m sure we’ll be back!

Great stay

We recently stayed here for a girl's trip and had a great time! The condo was very clean and was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The pool area was nice and relaxing. The views of the lake were beautiful and we especially enjoyed seeing all of the deer. The location of the condo was near a town with stores and restaurants. We also did the nearby winery. The hosts were very personable and answered any questions before and during our stay. We are already talking about coming back next summer with our husbands and the boat!

Great for families

Everything was beyond amazing. The place lived up to the pictures, exactly! The nature surrounding was beautiful and great atmosphere along with a fishing paradise. Plenty of spots to fish from with an abundant amount of giant fish. Our room was spacious and the jacuzzi tub in the master was a bonus! Our children enjoyed the double beds in their room, the balcony and feeding the deers in the evening time. We walked in with a snack bowl and beverages, which made us feel so welcomed. They also had a binder with useful information, restaurants nearby as well as boat/ski rentals that were in the area. Super host is an understatement, the hosts went above and beyond to ensure the room was clean and ready to go, including pots/pans, coffee, cooking utensils, cups, etc.. Washer/ Dryer in the unit helped with keeping our clothes clean and dry. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a beautiful getaway without traveling too far. We will for sure be coming back. Thank you for having us!

Very pleased overall

The directions were very helpful. Loved the quietness of the complex. Very pretty. Convenience and location of parking space to the elevator and condo was perfect. Was super pleased with the cleanliness of the condo. Ample bedding, towels, pillows, and make up remover clothes!we enjoyed the snacks left for us. Everything we needed was there, we just needed to bring food. Living room furniture was rough, but we had been informed that the new furniture hadn’t come in yet. Just some things we noted that may need some attention soon, a little paint, microwave , sheers needed in living room, and blinds don’t completely close in the master bed room. That being said, we were very pleased with the unit and our stay. Pet peeve: the control box for the front door lock, is super bright at night and strobes! We just tossed a wash cloth over it. Also would be helpful toadd a “Tip Sheet” in your Welcome book, explaining how to use all the remotes and TV.

Nice Condo on Lake Travis

Condo was larger than I expected, and was well stocked with everything we needed to celebrate Thanksgiving! We enjoyed the hot tub, weight room, and the beautiful grounds. This was a great find. The master bathroom is huge, and there was a lot of storage in condo! I would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Weekend

My family had a lovely weekend stay at The Island. The condo was very clean, beds were all very comfortable, and iTrip Vacations was great to work. Check-in was easy (no contact), and we had a very nice welcome gift waiting for us. Wine, sparkling water and snacks. It was a very nice touch and we will be back.

Nice Condo

Cute Condo

My Wife and I took a quick weekend-getaway trip out to The Island and stayed in this condo. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed to recharge after months in of staring at the same walls. The pools and exercise room were open and everyone was practicing social distancing and wearing masks - we felt very safe while there and will definitely be back.
