There is a creek close by with a tobogganing hill next to it. The Winston Pub and the Copper Horse Steak House are on the street below, just a stroll on a forested trail. In Golden you can visit many of the local shops on the Main Street, great local restaurants and then stop in at the local Whitetooth Brewery for a flight of beers or some growlers to take back up the hill.

In the summer there are many options for biking from the exhilarating downhill mountain biking from the chairlift and gondola at Kicking Horse to the CBT, Moonraker and Mountain Shadow trails for mountain biking as well as many place to take your road bike. The Golden Golf Club has a great restaurant and mini-golf and is just down the hill. For those hot summer days, Cedar Lake is just 10 minutes away or you can head to the beach at the confluence of the Kicking Horse and Columbia rivers. Additionally, there are many hiking trails in and around Golden and you are close to the wonders of Yoho National Park to the East. The Kicking Horse and Columbia rivers have white water rafting and canoeing for all levels. And recently opened is the Golden Skybridge – Canada’s highest suspension bridge.
