We understand that not having heat for two days was frustrating, and we're working diligently with our maintenance team to ensure this doesn't happen again. Since heat is rarely turned on in sunny Florida, it can be easy to miss when it's not working properly, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Regarding the construction, we apologize if the extent of the work was unexpected. Please note that our property description clearly indicates that ongoing construction is still in progress as part of our recovery from Hurricane Ian. We do our best to keep guests informed. Thank you for your review. We are truly sorry that your vacation was impacted by an unexpected air conditioning failure, especially given your husband's medical condition. We certainly understand how stressful that situation was. However, we do want to clarify several important facts for future guests. As soon as you notified us that the air conditioning was not working that evening, we immediately offered to relocate you to another unit in the same building with the exact same floor plan and fully functioning air conditioning. Unfortunately, you declined that option. We then arranged for an HVAC technician to come out the very next morning. During the summer in Florida, when temperatures regularly reach the upper 90s, HVAC companies experience an extremely high volume of emergency service calls, and same-day repairs are often impossible. Having a technician diagnose and repair the system the following morning was an exceptionally prompt response under the circumstances. Once the unit was repaired, we again offered for you to return, but that option was also declined. Although mechanical failures are completely unexpected and beyond our control, we still refunded you for two nights of your stay despite having resolved the issue quickly. While we understand you chose to remain at a hotel, that was your decision after declining both a comparable replacement unit and the repaired condo. We sympathize with the inconvenience this caused and always strive to resolve unforeseen maintenance issues as quickly as possible, which is exactly what we did in this situation.
