Close but no cigar
This cottage is a nice, relaxing vaccation only 1 hour away from Toronto. However, the place is not exactly as advertised. That is the reason for the 3-3.5 star rating.
Pros:
-Backyard : great for kids and pets! The big backyard had a small slope or two but largely flat around the huge camp fire.
-Amenities : big fridge, lots of pots and pans, bidets, lots of utensils, and a cozy living room area on main floor. Marks deducted for having dull big knives, no dishwasher tabs for the dishwasher, and the coffee machine worked but also leaked water.
-Bunk beds: good in terms matress hardness, came with warm blankets, and pillows. You can fit your travel cribs in the rooms with you but it will be a slight tight fit.
Fyi, the bathroom downstairs is shared - jack and jill style.
We didnt attempt to sleep two people on a bunk.
Cons:
-The public "beach" : the photos of it are deceiving. It's a boat launch area, not a beach. There is no sand to place your beach towel on. Merely the gravel/dirt pathway that vehicles would use to get to the water. It is also not a two minute walk. MAYBE five if you jog. Going to take far longer if you attempt to bring the kayaks. The kayaks were stored in a wooden structure on wheels and you are expected to push it from the backyard to the boat launch area. We didnt even attempt it as we noticed the previous users left water in the kayak and the structure looked heavy and cumbersome.
-House water: it is well water so bring enough water to drink and brus
