THE ULTIMATE TX LAKE HOUSE - Enjoy a private view and bath in each room. So much to love!

The great escape with something for everyone! Truly original and beautiful home with rustic lodge feel and amazing waterfront views of Lake Travis from every room. Four bedrooms each with a private bathroom and balcony. The master bedroom, large master bathroom, powder room and additional bedroom are on the main level. The living area has a cathedral ceiling with floor to ceiling windows and big screen TV. The big deck off the dining area on the main level opens to the kitchen and is ideal for your morning coffee or sunset drinks. The most beautiful sunset is seen here! The upper level has another bedroom with bunk beds and loft area with pool table. The lower basement level has a quiet bedroom and large patio with gas grill.

From here, you can venture out to the expansive lot. Explore around, find crystal rocks, throw a frisbee, sit at the fire pit and roast marshmallows, swim, skip rocks, read a book, watch the deer; the sky is the limit! During your stay, take a walk down the street to the wonderful park with big playground for the kids, basketball, frisbee golf, swimming and floating in a beach-like area when the water is low, exercise by walking around the park, and launch your boat at the conveniently located boat ramps located here. Most important to note, this home is ALWAYS waterfront even with low water levels due to the flat Lot unlike many Lake Travis homes.

The Point Venture neighborhood has many amenities to offer. A mile from the home you can go to the large recently renovated pool. The gym is located here as well and the entertaining floating restaurant Captain Petes Boathouse with live music and Liquid Thrillz boat rental is here at the marina. Nearby is the golf course with Caddy Shack sports bar and tennis courts.

Wonderful stay on the lake

We had a great time in our stay. The space is beautiful with lots of outdoor space and a wonderful view of the lake. I will recommend this house to all friends who visit the area. Also, the host was wonderful to work with.

Great for groups!

Beautiful lake views with several decks! Does not get much better than this! Loved the deer outside and the homeowners were very inviting, will definitely stay again!

We booked this beautiful lake front house for my mom's 60th birthday. Upon arriving it was 84 degrees inside the house. We contacted the host immediately. She told us it took some time for the air to kick in. We decided to grab some lunch while it "cooled down". We are from TX - we understand the heat. This was not normal. The host continued to put us off after several hours of communication back and forth until we finally told her we had to find somewhere else to stay because the temperature had risen to 88 degrees at 6:30pm. The host finally called an A/C guy who was able to get the living area down to 74. The upstairs bedroom and bedroom with two full beds never got below 78 the 4 nights we were there. They never checked in with us or offered to reimburse us for that first day / night of sweating inside. Our pool / gym card didn't work on Wednesday or Thursday when we tried to use it. Again, we had to contact the host. She didn't get it fixed until Friday. So there went 2 days of amenities - again, no offer to compensate for that. The house has wonderful bones, however, it is very outdated. The knob on the shower fell off the first night, there were no cushions on the outdoor furniture, and the yard was not manicured, The two neighbors had beautifully mowed lawns while this one was overgrown with weeds. It's a beautiful property with a lot of potential. We will rent in this neighborhood again, just not this house.

River Home

There were only two of us that stayed there. It was spacious, tranquil and quiet. Well worth the money.

We stayed Friday to Monday with family and friends. Check in was a breeze, the home was ready and nice and cool when we walked in. Which was really nice because we were hitting the 90s at check in. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. We cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. They did have a nice clean grill but we brought our Blackstone and grilled down on the large stone patio downstairs. It was really nice to grill with the lake view and in the shade. The upstairs game room was a hit! It was nice that it wasnt tucked away in some other part of the house because we were all able to stay together and watch the basketball games on the large flat-screen TV in the living room. The view was amazing, we sat out on the deck and watched the deer, the bats and even a few coyotes one night. The rooms were great and everyone enjoyed the space in each room. The beds were comfy and the sheets were so soft and helped me get a great night sleep. We would totally recommend the large lake house for family and friends to share.

Great House

My family and I had a great time staying in this home. The kids loved the pool table and dart board. The view was amazing and plenty of room outside. The owner was very assessable and helpful for things to do in the area. Thank you for your help. One day we hope to make it back for the Austin Rodeo and would love to stay her again.

Perfect for our group

We had a great time. Plenty of room in the house as well as outside. The kids had room to throw the football and play baseball. We enjoyed the deer so much. We took advantage of the neighborhood pool The only thing I would suggest is having teflon friendly cooking utensils. It would have saved your pots and pans

Loved the deer and sunsets!

Deck is in need of maintenance. Very splintery. The sunsets were great and the abundance of deer was amazing. Lake water was so low it interfered with lake plans. Bummer. Overall, a good family gathering.

Fun time but needs TLC

Functionality, it was everything we needed. Outstanding view and hanging out on the deck was great. We saw deer several times a day. Darts and pool table was fun. Plenty of bathrooms and space to handle a lot of people.The cons are mainly about the age and lack of updating of most things. Lighting was not good for darts or playing games at kitchen table. The deck stairs need land stone walkways need work. Based on water level the pictures are from a long time ago. They are accurate but do a good job of hiding th and quirks. Priced about right and it’s possible we might rent again.

Poorly managed

The house is large and comfortable with great views. We were able to enjoy the weekend despite the following problems. 4 days prior to arrival I asked for check-in information. On our day of arrival Britney forgot about us and left us out in the weather. An unrealistic offer was made to make amends. Housekeeping is lacking- Paper and hair on floor at entry Hair on rugs Abundance of spider webs Dirty dishes in kitchen cabinets Excrement in kitchen drawers Maintenance is lacking- Hand railings are rough Decks are rough Televisions not working Dryer broken Bath fixtures falling off Vertical blinds not working and falling apart Window AC freezes up Cabinets don't close Master does not have a jetted tub Broken chair at dining table Dangerous step to ground bedroom Master AC dripping woke us up and was reported early to the owner. No one responded for over 4 hours. The wrong repair person arrived about 9.5 hours after report and couldn't make repairs. The scenario interfered with our plans. Rather than acting defensively with we writers, you should appreciate that we take time to let you know. Efforts should be made to rectify the continued problems.

Fun places with some issues though

Check in was not good at all. We arrived 20 minutes after check in and still hadn’t received a code or instructions to get it. We waited outside for a good bit while trying to get in touch with the owner with no luck. We then had to call VRBO and ask them what to do. But thankfully my husband found that almost all the doors were unlocked so we then let ourselves in. The cabin is definitely older and could use a remodel on each of the bathrooms, but it was perfect for our group. There were several levels and decks which we loved, as well as plenty of tables and seating.The basement definitely felt like a basement with water damage on the ceiling, but was still cozy.The beach is not within walking distance. You could probably walk to the entrance but getting down to the water is probably another couple of miles. We were only given one key to get in and each vehicle needs a key. So that was difficult for our group of 11 to get down to the beach. We either had to walk (not happening), cram all in one car (not possible) or someone had to shuttle a group back and forth from the cabin (best option). The guy checking people in wouldn’t even let us park by the park area. So that process was a bit more inconvienant than we’d hoped. A cabin fit for a large group should definitely come with more keys to get into the amenities. The cabin definitely wasn’t fully stocked. Towels, rags, foil, ziploc etc. Loved the views and game room!!

Hello, thank you for your feedback. It appeared you had difficulty with your VRBO app when accessing the property and I was immediately available when you called. As described, the lakehouse is original and not newly remodeled although well maintained. It is ideal for a family lake trip vacation. The neighborhood does not like outsiders accessing the park and only provides one keycard per household. Most guests shuttle over to the park if needed. Currently the water is low so it makes for a longer distance to the beach but no more than 1 mile from the home. Housekeeping tries to keep everything fully stocked and guests usually notify if anything is missing. Glad to hear you enjoyed the home otherwise!!!

Same Issues as Previous Renter

The issues we had staying at this house in March 2024 are the same as Lisa's when she stayed at the house in Oct 2023 (her review was posted in Dec 2023). Similar to Lisa S., we couldn't get into the house on the 1st day of our arrival. In our case we were given the wrong door code and couldn't get a hold of the host for ~40 mins. We contacted VRBO and they couldn't get hold of the host (Brittany) either. VRBO was apologetic and was about to cancel the booking and refund us when the host texted back and gave us the correct code. The house was wasn't cleaned or properly stocked with toilet paper and papers towels. We had the same issues with dust, cobwebs, and mouse droppings/feces in the kitchen. The host told us that no one had been at the house for six weeks and blamed their cleaning company for not doing their job properly. The host offered to send a cleaning person, but we declined her offer. We weren't comfortable with someone cleaning the house while we were staying there on vacation. The host did have paper towels and napkins delivered the next day, but didn't deliver any toilet paper. We also asked for a refund for 1 night, which the host/owner partially fulfilled. I experienced the same defensiveness that Lisa S. described when I asked the host/owner to follow through on the refund. In hindsight, we should have paid more attention to the previous reviews. The issues Lisa documented were not resolved in the 5 months between her stay and ours.

Relaxing Locale, Beautiful Views

Britney is responsive and helpful, and followed up on the handful of requests we made. The home is situated right on Lake Travis, with direct shoreline access. Great neighbors and the neighborhood is quiet and lovely – quintessential Texas Hill Country. Abundant wildlife – white-tailed deer, squirrels, and all kinds of birds. We had a terrific time fishing off the shore and caught a total of two crappies, eight small bass, one large bass (16”), and one large freshwater drum (17”). But FYI that the lake is extremely low, adding to the long walk from the house. Those with mobility issues may have problems getting to the shore because the lakebed is exposed -- very rough and loose footing. The marina and the restaurants are WAY down at the bottom of a very steep series of steps, ramps, and connecting walkways. This is one of the original places on Lake Travis and it feels like a beloved home filled with many wonderful memories over multiple generations. But there is a LOT of deferred maintenance. A few examples include: the ceilings have cracks and peeling, the dishwasher is moldy and its rack is loose, there are a lot of cobwebs, blinds with bent slats, wobbly deck rails, some split deck boards with raised strips that could cause a trip and fall, outside light fixtures have missing grate covers and no lightbulbs, a chaise lounge has broken slats, and much of the indoor furniture is either similarly damaged or has stains. Bottomline: over the years and in all the Vrbos we’ve stayed, we’re never looking for perfection – we understand that successful Vrbos are consistently occupied and see regular use. But it doesn't feel unreasonable to expect everything to be in good repair. That said, if the details described in this review – which merely represent OUR experience and personal observations – aren’t high on your priority list, this lakehouse is a wonderful, relaxing place to stay if you have a lot of people who want to spend most of their time outdoors, enjoying the lovely views.

This review was a huge surprise as the guest communicated to me how much they loved it! You can also see that this is one opinion and almost all other reviews we have received have been outstanding. The home as described is original so some things like light fixtures outside may not be used anymore. The home is huge with many incredible features you won't find in a new cookie cutter home. The home has many (awesome) decks and we have them checked on periodically to insure safety. There has never been any issues. A home that consistently houses 13 guests does have regular wear and tear and we address any broken items as needed. All lake homes are on a septic system but guests still put items down disposal and toilets that should not go (despite notices) which was causing dishwasher to backup at times. We have resolved this issue and have a new dishwasher on order. Cobwebs are cleaned at every cleaning. They can appear the next day being on the lake. We have a frequent pest control service and no issues there. Despite this persons review, please refer to the over 100 other 5* reviews! You will love it here!!!

It was an awesome home and built with true craftsmanship. A true classic lake home. They could enhance it a bit by upgrading a few small things like the blinds in the Master Bedroom and ensuring that the windows are cleaned better . These are little “nits” , but to some could make the home a wow! Thx for sharing the home with our family . We would love to come back. Paula C

Nice Roomey place, many attributes.Driveyway access is difficult for any boats, kr trailer.

Overall experience was very good. Nice to have access to Boat Ramp nearby.

Perfect get away

Beautiful older property with stunning views of lake Travis from every room. My family had a great time and really enjoyed the spacious property. Brittney was great the entire process.
