We had a wonderful time at The Bird’s Nest! The property was beautiful and the perfect ‘Up North’ Michigan get away experience. We especially enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat on the lake, as well as the fire pit. We would definitely stay here again!

The cabin was quaint, clean, and comfortable for our group of five adults. We didn’t spend a lot of time at the house during our stay, but it had everything we needed and we were comfortable while we were there. The lake views were beautiful and the setting was quiet and peaceful. The management company also called to check in on us during our stay, which was a thoughtful touch and very much appreciated.

Vacation house on High Lake

The lake is lovely and the location is convenient for visits to Traverse City as well as local attractions and other lakes in the area. We would stay there again!

The water was high but we were able to enjoy a campfire. Kitchen is very small but has what you need. Shower is small. We had a great time living was great place to gather when it rained. The,deck was ,nice to sit. So very quiet!!! Lots of trees and felt very private!

Wonderful stay!

We had a great time at our quiet getaway to Traverse City. Our young children loved splashing in the shallow water and playing on the small beach. We enjoyed s'mores in the evening and watched all the wildlife nearby. Thanks for a great stay!

Peaceful Setting

Had a conference at the Grand Traverse Resort so our daily drive was very short however you'd never think you were so close to the city life given how peaceful this place was for all of us.

Late Summer Stay

We would like to stay here again if the property is available next year. We have previously stayed on the west side of TC but the location just east of town was more convenient.

Property is very buggy and moldy inside. We found mouse droppings. The beds were really comfy and the beachside area is nice. It’s really not a good value and we don’t plan to be back.

Property setting is wooded and located on a lovey inland lake. We do get bugs in the summertime.

Peaceful Fall Getaway And Easy Access to Traverse City, MI

The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the beds were very comfortable. The vibrant fall colors surrounding the home were absolutely stunning and added to the relaxing atmosphere. Although the driveway was steep, it was easy to navigate and didn’t pose any problems. The location was also ideal, making it easy to explore the charming coastal areas around Traverse City. Highly recommend for a serene and scenic escape!

comfy stay for young family

The house was just as listed and described. You can tell the paint was new in and out, the deck furniture was in great shape, the windows looked new and even the gas grill was in great shape! The water is clean and deep enough but not too quickly. The kids swam and the lake was calm enough for our kids to kayak and peddle boat on their own which they don't do much. The only real thing to be aware of is the walk down and up from the car. I would not stay here if you have someone with mobility issues. Steep driveway and long, and even though the driveway goes down to cottage, I would strongly advise against (there is a sign that warns drivers). The park nearby is amazing and we went there with the kids daily! Overall great place to get away and15- 20 minutes from downtown Traverse City.

Not clean

The place was dirty. Bugs and dirt all over the bathroom and on the extra rolls of toilet paper. Mouse droppings and a dead mouse in the main bedroom. Couldn't get a hold of the owner and the front office did their best to help but could only do so much. When moving the chest in the living room to open the pull out bed there was a dirty plate (not ours) and food stuck to the carpet. And the middle bedroom was very musty smelling. The fridge also kept going out. Contacted the office about the mouse/mice problem and they left it at needing to get a hold of the owner (never did) then I contacted vrbo customer service and they left it the same way and I haven't heard anything back.

Property was in a great location! Quiet, relaxing, a beautiful view! We had so much fun kayaking on the lake. The swim up platform in the photos belongs to the neighbor, who was super nice, but would prefer people not use it. The dock was also unusable which wasn’t clear in the photos. Communication with the company was easy and quick. We would stay again!
