MCM lovers will be blown away by this house!! It’s like a living museum of awesomeness. Very spacious and full of light, peaceful, and full of things to discover. Great communication from host and property manager. No problem ordering groceries from Walmart or food from Grubhub. The whole property is gorgeous. Will go back every chance I get.

This is my second time running this property in Lakeland and I’m very pleased with it once again it meant my needs to visit family and spending family time together around the pool. I would I would rent it again if it was available my visit to Lakeland

We had an excellent stay in the Mid-century modern home. We were in town to visit family and it gave us an oasis away from the hustle and bustle. Communication with the host and his in-town representative was easy and both were immediately responsive to our needs. The well-landscaped backyard, with its mature trees shading the pool, allowed us to enjoy outdoor activities even in the peak heat of summer. It was a delight to stay in this historic house— it reminded me of my aunt’s home and let us reminisce and share memories with children and grandchildren.

Whether you are looking for a quiet relaxing space or more specifically a totally period authentic mid century modern experience this home is awesome on both counts. We highly recommend.

This property is fascinating. It’s definitely a window into life in the 50’s. Every detail is here. Lakeland area is like old Florida. There is a Frank Lloyd Wright museum and a number of FLW buildings on the campus of FSU you can tour.Also, The Barnett museum of Art is incredible and free.We very much enjoyed the property’s spaciousness.The property owner was available for all of our needs. We are looking forward to returning next year.

Uncovered this house years ago researching modernist buildings in Florida. Imagine my delight when I discovered it was a few miles away from me and I could stay for a couple of nights. This was the ideal location for my creative retreat. You pass through the door and you, whether instinctually or consciously, grasp it is a thoughtfully-designed space. This spirit is contagious. Leaving, I was confident I made leaps in my own creative process. Waking up to work in a space with honest materials and well-made furniture was a delight. The fact I could plop into the pool or sit next to the pond during breaks was perfect relaxation.There are idiosyncrasies you have to make peace with. Short showers, firm beds. If you enjoy modernism or staying in unique places, though, you will comprehend the value of this house and how it was designed back in the day. The owner and property manager have done well to keep this design throughout the years. I hope to be back in the near future.

This house is the nicest vacation rental in Lakeland's historic district! (I go to Lakeland regularly) It has an open floor plan with many floor to ceiling windows. The 36' pool is possible for laps and is beautifully lit at night. There are large side yards with massive ancient live oak trees. Best of all was the convenient carport, offering coverage from tree debris and rain. Mattresses were suportive and comfortable. The spacious kitchen & dining areas were well equipped. It is just a quick walk to gorgeous Lake Hollingsworth. I loved the very muted but still audible train whistles-very romantic! I would definitely stay here again, if possible!

I have family in Lakeland and this property was close and meet all our needs. The amenities with games and a pool made our visit with our grandkids a great experience. I would recommend this place to anyone who has a need to stay in Lakeland.. It is a great location close to stores in for us. It was close to my family that I was visiting. Great experience would rent it again.

An Oasis in a Time Capsule

We came to Lakeland for a wedding and once we walked inside this amazing home we really didn’t want to leave. From the historic artifacts to the meditation pond to the beautiful backyard and pool this was perfect for us. As runners, it was also great to be steps from a 5k loop around a peaceful pond. We would definitely stay here again.
