We will definitely be coming back at some point. Nice and roomy, everything was clean and a lot of room to move around. The scenery was breathtaking that was what we said we all loved.I would recommend this cabin for any family get away. Our 2 dogs loved it too.

We loved the location of Trapper Johns, very convenient to Wears Valley Rd, the park and some fun mountain roller coasters. The patio view was beautiful (note: some of the older wooden chairs left a lot of splinters and damaged some clothing) and we enjoyed evenings and mornings watching the scenery. Kids had fun with the arcade games and game room. Our only complaint was about utensils in the kitchen....we constantly ran out of silverware in our party of 6, and we thought there should be more cooking utensils (spatulas, grill tools, etc).

Very nice view and quiet place to stay. Amenities are great for young kids.

Beautiful views, clean home, great layout! We will be back!

We had a fantastic week at Trapper John’s! The views were amazing and the location is great! We were close enough to the national park and all the touristy things, but still in B a peaceful setting! The driveway is super steep, but very doable!

Great place to stay - 2 small families fit very well with lots of space. View was stunning. Be prepared for quite the trek up the mountain to the house. We saw no bears and no wildlife during our stay. My only complaint is the cleanliness. I felt like we walked into dirty/sticky floors. All of the dishes were fairly dirty. (This is obviously a guest problem!) Be aware of nails sticking out on the upper deck - I recommend shoes! We were excited for the pool table, but it should be known the rails are dead! Recommendation for owners: add beach towels for hot tub! It would have been nice to separate shower towels from hot tub use. Overall, I would stay again!

Heaven

There are not words to describe the view from the cabin of the mountains. It was absolutely stunning. The cabin was wonderful and was suited to what we needed. It was easy to get to, but the climb there was a bit difficult. However it was well worth it. The property was well-maintained and furnished to our needs. My family and I would certainly return to this cabin.

4th of July Family Trip

We loved our stay at Trapper John! It was the perfect fit for our family! We saw plenty of wildlife including deer, bear, rabbits, birds & more! I do recommend bringing paper products if you have younger kiddos as the items in the kitchen are glass! It was 5-7 minutes away from the gas station, a cute food truck spot, activities and some little stores. I felt like it was a great spot away from the crazy tourist places, but close enough to make the drive into Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge not bad at all! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great mountain cabin!

Breathtakingly Beautiful

It was perfect! The whole family went for my parents 50th anniversary! Everything was described perfectly and we had no issues at all! The only reason I gave a 4 on the cleanliness was because the kitchen counters and floor were sticky and dirty but other than that it was perfect! They even had a Christmas tree put up which was perfect! I do agree with the other review that you need your big girl pants on for the driveway but once you keep doing it it does get better:) We would definitely stay again!!!

Trapper John cabin

Beautiful big 4 bedroom house! Large deck on back with awesome view! We really enjoyed our stay! Loved the arcade games, especially Ms Pacman! I loved that there were basic supplies in kitchen, great perk! Four couples and a toddler had a great stay! Only con was the shower in master bath was out of commission due to leakage. This should have been repaired before renting or at least disclosed beforehand. But we prob would have stayed anyway, this place checked all the boxes! One thing, if you could put as a gas grill on porch? It rained everyday and I had to hold an umbrella over that tiny grill to cook ☔️ Now, the driveway…. In a word, scary! Def gotta put on your big girl pants!! We would stay again!! Thankyou

A beautiful, secluded view

We spent a few days at this cabin for my mom's 75th birthday, and she loved it! The view from the balcony is second to none -- sunrises and sunsets are beautiful, the patio furniture is comfortable, and the hot tub is soothing! The cabin is situated at the top of 4 steep switchbacks, but the road is paved all the way up -- it's only a surprise if you're not prepared for it, but it gets better after the first time. The only drawbacks we experienced were (1) intermittent communication from the property manager and (2) a lack of cleanliness. Re: communication... the first night we were in the cabin, I messaged the property manager, and they responded right away. Based on their response, I knew that, standing in the cabin, my text messages were leaving my phone and arriving at theirs fine. On subsequent days, however, I would send the property manager additional questions, and their answers would be delayed by a day or more. Re: cleanliness, the kitchen utensils, pot holders, and other surfaces were unclean. The listing explicitly states to "make sure all remote controls are accounted for", but my dad found a remote control and pencil in the cushions of one of the lazy boys -- not exactly cleaned as you'd expect. The listing also states that each bathroom has a hair dryer, but we only found one in the house. Overall, we had a great experience. The cabin is within 20 minutes of the grocery store, Smokey Mountain National Park, and other large tourist trap towns.

Only thing I would add would be a gate at the end of the wrap around gate. We didn't see any bears but with the high activity it would be safe.
