Tämä mökki sijaitsee yli 200-vuotiaalla maatilalla majesteettisen Otterin huipun juurella, ja se on täydellinen maaseudulle lomalle. Nauti kuistilta, joka heiluttaa vasta räätälöitystä pergolastamme, nauttien panoraamanäkymistä Blue Ridge Parkwaylle ja näkymälle suurelle 3 hehtaarin lampille. Hevosen rakastaja? Rakastat katsomassa hevos laiduntemme yli kohti suurta lampia, jossa kalastus on sallittua! Oletko innokas metsästäjä? Tämä olisi unelmapaikka pysyäksesi. Paikan päällä on saatavissa walk-in-riistan jäähdytin, lihanjalostusalue ja hirvennahat. Minuutin päässä kansallismetsästä.

Olemme kätevällä paikalla 15 minuutin päässä Bedfordin kaupungista, 10 minuutin päässä Otter Lodge and Campgroundsin huipista, 30 minuutin päässä Lynchburgista ja Liberty Universitystä, 45 minuutin päässä Roanokesta, 30 minuutin päässä Smith Mountain Lake -kadulle. Olemme 5 minuutin päässä Otter-viinitilan huipista ja 10 minuutin päässä Grossin hedelmätarhasta - molemmat kannattaa tutustua tämän alueen todelliseen ymmärrykseen. Bedfordin kaupungissa asuu National D-Day Memorial ja se on täynnä paljon laadukasta taidetta ja antiikkia viehättävässä keskustassa. Muita vierailun arvoisia päiväretkiä ovat Appomattox, jossa sisällissota päättyi, Thomas Jeffersonin Poplar Forest, Monticello UVA: lla, VA Natural Bridge, Juna-museo ja Taubmanin taidemuseo Roanokessa sekä Liberty Mountainin Snowflex Center.

Lovely stay. We were pleasantly surprised at the beautiful property and views. We were thrilled with our greeter, Buck, the handsome and friendly horse. The view of the vibrantly colored trees, mountains, pastures and ponds was peaceful and enjoyable. The cottage was clean, warm and cozy and comfortable and quaint. It just felt "right" for being a foothill cottage, on a beauty property. Also, we enjoyed coffee on the pergola - wonderful! The property was conveniently located to Peaks of Otter and the Glass Hill Venue, as well as Lynchburg. The hostess, Sarah, was very responsive and helpful and sweet. We also enjoyed our easy conversation with Tony. We will definitely return for a visit to explore more of the area and to fish. Ha

The home was very comfortable and cozy. The views in the morning were lovely and the sunsets were just gorgeous! They left cookies for us which was a sweet touch and I certainly enjoyed them. There's plenty of space throughout the house. The shower was a bit short for my husband but he's 6'4. He did fine though. Just a note for anyone else. They leave a brush for you on the patio so I got to wake up and brush Buck one morning which was delightful!! I would definitely stay here again.

Back again!! Always our go-to place, Matthew farms is a breath of fresh air. Always calm, always peaceful and it’s always the perfect get away for us whenever we’re in this area. The host are very friendly, easily contactable and even come and chat with you if you happen to be enjoying the patio & gazebo swing! The cottage has everything that you need with a fully stocked kitchen, upgraded towels & linens and the most comfortable king sized bed I have ever slept in!! There’s plenty of entertainment options available, shopping, antiquing and there are of course, mountain hikes close by! If you enjoy peace and tranquility, you’ll this cotrage on Myhew Farm!

This is our go to place whenever we are in the Lynchburg area. We have stayed too many times to count now. This house has a well stocked kitchen with all the items necessary to prepare meals, bake cookies or even a cake! The beds are comfortable and the bedrooms have plenty of blankets. During the summer months, it can be humid when it’s really hot outside but the a/c units do make it comfortable, especially at night. The property is very calm and relaxing and you are free to stroll. The owners are very accommodating and accessible!! Highly recommend this cottage!!

SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE

WE STAYED FOR A LONG WEEKEND AND TO ENJOY A VIRGINIA DARE CRUISE. THIS HOME WAS ABOUT A 40 MINUTE DRIVE FROM THEN LAKE BUT THE COUNTRYSIDE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL THAT IT DIDN'T MATTER. THE RENTAL WAS AS EXPECTED AND WHILE NOT FAR FROM THE MAIN ROAD IT WAS SO QUIET AND PEACEFUL. WOU;D DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN.

Beautiful and Quaint stay

This property is absolutely charming...cute, quaint, and incredibly peaceful. The views are stunning, and the setting is quiet and relaxing. The home was well-equipped with everything we needed and had just the right amount of space for two adults and two young children. We especially enjoyed visiting Noodle the horse and visiting the on the property. We’d love to return for another stay!

Peaceful

The property and location is very peaceful. The cottage is a rather eclectic space but beautifully outfitted. The host was very responsive and there were the extras of flowers on the table and fresh baked cookies upon arrival.It's a little further from liberty Univ than we first thought but it is convenient to hiking at Flattop and the D day memorial...which we did all three.

So serene!

The cottage was cuter than we anticipated! We loved the cozy family / fireplace room. The gas fireplace heats the room up very nicely. The king size bed in the main bedroom was quite large and fairly comfortable, with lots of big pillows. The portable electric heaters available in every room worked fine too. We would have liked to stay longer than two nights, but alas... another couple had already reserved that day. Sarah, the owner, is very responsive to questions during your stay. Thank you for a great getaway!

Beautiful quiet countryside!

This is our second stay at this particular VRBO and it will certainly not be our last. Not only is this place situated in the country, but you have an excellent view of the mountains on all sides. Since it sits on an actual working farm, you have the peace, quiet and tranquility of country life. The place itself has everything that you'll need with a well stocked kitchen, full sized refrigerator, stove and microwave. Ample dishes and utensils make meal prep easy. The king bed in the master bedroom is sooooo comfortable! The second bedroom has a full size and twin bed creating plenty of sleeping space for everyone. The cozy family room has enough couch space and reclining chair to make tv watching enjoyable for all. The hosts are amazing and if there's anything that you need, they are quick to respond to inquiries. Highly recommend this place. It is one of our favorites and we will certainly be back!

My father-in-law purchased this farm in 1978 where he and wife, Margaret raised my husband and his brother. Margaret and Tony still reside in the large farmhouse which is located just a short distance from the property. My husband, myself and our three children live “over the pond and through the woods” from the cottage. As the more tech savvy one between the two of us, I manage the online reservations while Tony typically enjoys being hands-on with anything that’s needed during your stay. Feel free to contact either of us! We always love to get to know our visitors!

The farm was once a full working dairy farm, dating over 200 years old. Up until last year, we have rented this cottage as a long-term rental. We are pleased to now offer the cottage as short-term rental where visitors to the area can enjoy a home such as ours.

The peacefulness that our property brings is something you can't find many other places. As you swing under our pergola or sit around the fire pit and listen to the sounds around you, one can imagine what the farm would have looked like so many years ago. We are a history lover's dream!
