the home was absolutely fantastic and the property owner was extremely responsive and accessible. we hosted about 35 people at the house for an afternoon wedding. we could not have been happier; there was plenty of room for the caterer and everyone to spread out comfortably. Additionally there are tons of games in the lower part of the home to keep everyone entertained in the evenings.

While incredibly spacious with a variety of spaces to relax, the home has a very welcoming, cozy vibe. Our favorite time was relaxing in the great room after a day of hiking, followed by movie night in the theater room. My brother in law and sister loved the karaoke, whereas I wanted to burn the machine down! Everyone reported very comfortable beds - essential after active days. Just wonderful in all respects.

We arranged a bachelorette trip to the Lazy Bear Lodge and had an incredible time. The owners were very easy to communicate with and accommodating, on top of having such a wonderful property. I am already planning another trip with my family for next fall! I highly recommend the Lazy Bear Lodge for whatever event you may have in the area.

Fantastic Vacation!

Our family summer vacation with you could not have been any more perfect! There were 15 of us, ranging in age from 7 to 77, and the property was so spacious that we could all have our own space and privacy. The amenities are unbelievable and the pool just made the stay for the kids! The house was so very clean, and was stocked better than any other property we have ever rented for our family summer vacation. My wife took some of the grandkids for a hike up the mountain, and found such beautiful waterfalls and the absolute beauty of God’s creation! We even got visited by a deer one morning! We will be back! Thanks for everything!

Family vacation

Our family consists of 18 people of all ages. This house was perfect. The hot tub and pool were great. This is our second time staying here and we were not disappointed. We'll definitely come again.

Great trip with friends!!

We stayed at Lazy Bear with 2 other families, 8 kids total and had a wonderful time. The house is perfect for multiple families. The kids had a blast in the pool, the game room, the swingset, and the big yard. The house was clean and well-equipped. Robert was communicative, flexible, and attentive. Great weekend away!

Fantastic 13th Birthday Party

I [bravely] took 13 tweens to Lazy Bear Lodge to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. The house was absolutely perfect for the trip—huge (!) with tons to keep a bunch of kids busy. They didn’t even get around to enjoying all the available games, spaces, activities to be honest. The pool was fantastic—we brought our own outdoor screen and showed a nighttime movie. There were plenty of spaces to sleep for everyone. The kitchen was very well appointed. 10/10 would recommend!

Team building

We thoroughly enjoyed this spacious cabin. It was perfect for our team building event. There was plenty of room for all 19 of us. The game/theater room was so much fun. We loved all the outdoor seating on the patio! It was clean and the owners were very accommodating, Not one single complaint! We will be back in the near future.

Awesome Mountain Cabin

We had a great stay at Lazy Bear Lodge! This is our second time here and won’t be our last! Our kids never want to leave and neither do the adults. From the large outdoor spaces, playground, fire pit, and back porch to the theater room and game room, the home exceeds expectations in all areas. The pool is awesome with a water slide for all ages and the hot tub is great too. We had such a memorable time enjoying family and friends for five days. We will be back!

House was excellent with plenty of room for our entire family. There was aplenty of kitchen utensils and dishes as well as linens. The pool and hot tub were a big hit. The house was close to a wide variety of activities but yet private for family time. We had no problems during our stay everything worked perfectly. Would highly recommend.

What a marvelous family vacation. The house was quality with the very responsive host providing unexpected amenities. Plenty of space for large & small group interaction. Great Thanksgiving trip!

We rented the Lazy Bear lodge for Thanksgiving. We had a group of 19 with ages ranging from 6 to 72 and the home accommodated everyone with room to spare. There was plenty of room for cooking for everyone and places to sit and eat inside and outside. There’s an awesome game room that the kids enjoyed a lot with foosball, air hockey, and pool. During our stay the owner brought a karaoke machine which we thoroughly enjoyed. Both the property manager and owner were very helpful with any questions or concerns that we had and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Mr Sloane was awesome and even told us about his other home nearby which we will definitely be staying at in the future.

Great Place for a Retreat

The lodge was a great place to stay! We held a ladies retreat for our church there, and it had everything we needed! The location was beautiful, and the lodge had plenty of room for us. We were worried about having enough seating, but it was never a concern. The lodge itself was stunning and well maintained. We would stay there again!

Wedding Weekend at Lazy Bear

My family of 20 and I stayed at Lazy Bear for a wedding that was held at Yonah Mountain winery. We arrived on Thursday night, and everything was beyond perfect. The house had so many amenities and extras that we didn’t even need to bring all that we did. There were large TV’s in each room. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessary items to include coffee, condiments, and spices, and all of the Kitchen tools you can think of. There were game rooms and sound speakers, and plenty of rooms for all of us to spread out. This house is the perfect place for a large group to sta. There was even 1 room we missed that had a ping pong table and foose-ball table..we’ll have to catch it on our next visit. The other part of our family, who was the actual wedding party stayed at the host’s, other VRBO called Country Farm Estate, #2366040. We were able to visit them on Saturday and saw how wonderful their location was as well. It had two houses that were fully stocked, beautifully decorated, and a pool and hot tub in between them. They had so much space to spread out as well and even ended up staying an extra day because it was so perfect and they couldn’t pass it up. They had out of town guests in and were able to celebrate the bride and groom, and visit as a family in the perfect location. Each of these houses owned and operated by the host are fantastic. I would absolutely stay there again, and I would totally recommend them to anyone looking to host a large party.

Weekend Stay

Lazy Bear is great. The house itself is spacious and well appointed. We had a group of 18 people which included teenagers. More than enough room for everyone to spread out and not feel cramped. The location is perfect, with Helen only a few miles away. We look forward to our next stay.

Family Vacation

One of our younger grandchildren said, “This is the best house and best vacation yet.” I just might have to agree. This property was perfect for our 22 family members. Sleeping arrangements were very good, the kitchen worked so well as we prepared and served meals, and the front porch was perfect for visiting while some played in the pool or played hide and seek on the four acres. Our teenagers enjoyed the media room and adults and children alike loved playing shuffleboard, air hockey, badminton, and more in the game room. We went tubing and hiking and then relaxed back in this beautiful home nestled in a quiet neighborhood in the northeast Georgia mountains. We give this a five star recommendation.

The White’s Family Vacation

Lazy Bear Lodge is a vacation location everyone enjoyed. The amenities are exceptional and there is everything provided for an excellent experience. We were in close proximity to everything we wanted to do in Helen and the surrounding area from trout fishing, tubing, zip lining and the roller coaster. It is an easy drive to Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia, You can’t go wrong staying at Lazy Bear Lodge.

Family reunion

This home is outstanding and could easily be the main feature of vacation home magazines. The decorator earned an A++, even to the lightswitch covers!! EVERYTHING is available on site as far as entertainment for all ages. Would love to return in the future.

The house was perfectly designed to accommodate a large group. There was something for everyone (of all ages) and everyone had a fabulous time!

We had a small family reunion here - we had about 13 people staying here and another 8 staying nearby - but this house was the base of operations for whole thing. Our group ranged from multiple kids under 10, 3 teenagers, and the rest adults. Where to start
.there are so many great spaces to just hang out - we’d start with breakfast in the great room, move to drinks and lunch around the pool (which can be heated!!!) dinner on the back deck, and then s’mores around the amazing fire pit. A ton of firewood was provided, and I claimed the giant swing each night. I haven’t event mentioned the media room (kids zonked out here each night) and the *multiple* game rooms. I prefer bar shuffleboard, and got my hat handed to me in ping play pong, fooseball, and air hockey (hint - it’s in a hidden room). I’m underselling the pool (slide!!!) and the front porch. Plus the whole house in a super chill neighborhood. Host was responsive - but honestly didn’t need him for much. We cooked all but one of our meals here and moved between the two kitchens (downstairs was reserved for cocktails, beer and wine) and the outdoor grill. Bottom line - I was responsible for picking the house for this weekend - and I came out looking good. Great, great house. Huge. It’s fun.

In 2013, Rob and I fell in love with the North Georgia Mountains and purchased Cameron House Retreat, (VRBO #243669).
Now we have teamed up with good friends Susan and Fred Peritz to acquire Lazy Bear Lodge.
We all live and work in South Florida, and thought this would be a great project to work on together, and also have a wonderful house to vacation in. We are all enjoying the hard work, and are happy you will get to enjoy the fruits of our labor!
