Overall a good experience with a few caveats
Negatives: Most of the exterior lighting in the photos is missing or not working which made for a very dark check in. The sliding glass door lock unlocks with the slightest jiggle when manually locked from the inside. Locking it with the key on the exterior does work. Weird. There is a complete downstairs portion to this lodging that is not mentioned in the description and we were not sure if we were supposed to be able to use it. This should be updated or explained in the description. One window in the bedroom with two beds would not close. And you could not run the ceiling fan with the light out as the remote did not work. It was both fan and lights on or neither on. We experienced about a dozen roaches during our five day visit, mostly in the far kitchen corner, and a couple in both bathrooms ranging from ant size to the size of a quarter. They bothered the female in our group a lot. I get bugs come with tropics, but perhaps a bit more pest control.That said, the place was clean. The showers worked fine and were hot. The beds were comfortable, and the a/c worked well in both rooms. Plenty of space in this rental and we loved the wrap around porch. It is within easy walking distance to the ocean although not to beaches as the shoreline is all lava cliffs. We saw whales out in the ocean, although that will be a seasonal thing.There are a lot of accessories in the closets although we didn't use any of it. Overall, our female would not stay here again, but I definitely would!

Beautiful views
This property has the best lanai for watching sunrises and listening to ocean waves. Indoor space is well decorated and comfortable. One thing to note is there is a set of stairs that leads down to storage or an area that is not part of the listed rooms - having brought my 2year old, it was a little nerve wracking having the stairs there and keeping him away from them. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will hopefully stay there again. Aloha!

Nice place to stay
We really enjoyed our stay here. We were a group of 3 couples and it was perfect for us. Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. We loved the deck and the view of the ocean and being able to hear the ocean. A neighbor showed us how to get to the ocean by walking across the street and between a couple of yards. It was a beautiful spot. We saw turtles in the waves one morning. There were plenty of dishes and towels, etc., and it is a very comfortable place. The beds were comfortable, the owner was good to work with. It is in a good location to visit the Volcano National Park. We would stay here again.
