The Old town of Dubrovnik is the most known and desirable destination in Dubrovnik. In the past, the Old City became an important force in the whole Mediterranean after the 13th century. Although significantly destroyed by the earthquake of 1667, Dubrovnik managed to keep and preserve its Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque churches, monasteries, palaces, and fountains.
Today inside the Walls you have almost everything that you might need: cultural sights, cinemas, galleries theaters, lots of cafes, and restaurants.
During the day it is pretty much crowded with tourists and domestic people, and music from bars and restaurants during the night is not the first option for those who are seeking peace and a quiet place to stay. Despite that, the Old Town of Dubrovnik offers liveliness and charm that you cannot find in other parts of Dubrovnik.
Stradun, the main street in Old City, is only 300 m long but offers the most famous sights as you walk along the way. Onofrio's Fountain, the Franciscan Monastery, the Sponza Palace, Orlando's Column, the Rector's Palace, the Dubrovnik Cathedral and Treasury, the Church of St. Vlaho, Synagogue, Marin Držić House, Ethnographic Museum Rupe, Aquarium...
The most impressive sight is the well preserved City Walls. Only 2 km long and 25 m high used to be protected in the past. The most important and well-preserved 5 fortresses give a unique shape to this Old town. Those are Fort of Minčeta, Revelin, Bokar, St. John, and outside Lovrjenac.
Traffic is forbidden inside the Walls and parking is almost mission impossible in case you decide to stay as much as closer to the Old City...

Admirable and clean accommodation!
We had a wonderful visit and the apartment was just as described. The host was very friendly, responsive, and helpful. The apartment is located right in the centre of the Old City. The only critique would be that although it's two bedrooms, the dividing walls do not go all the way up, so there isn't as much privacy if you had two actual walled bedrooms. Good value for price.

Great location
The stay was wonderful and we enjoyed being within the walls. There are several flights of stairs to get to the apartment and I can't remember if that was called out in the description or not. It would have been nice if the place had and iron and ironing board. I had to go back to the property managers location to pick up and return the iron. I also recommend that they add one or two ice trays for those like me that like ice in their drinks. Side note, there is no glass in the windows between the two bedrooms, so just be aware if you're traveling with someone using the 2nd room, they'll be able to hear anything going on in either room. Also, DO NOT try and use American Express to pay for your stay. Most of Croatia does not take AE and my reservation was cancelled because I used AE and didn't know it was cancelled until about two weeks before I arrived. I was able to rebook it using a Mastercard, but almost missed out because I originally did not see the note from VRBO because I was already traveling.

Admirable and clean accommodation!
Amazing location, literally just on a beautiful alley in the heart of town. Just an FYI - The apartment is a few floors up and you can’t park closer than a few hundred meters from there, so can be difficult with lots of luggage and small kids but I think that applies to anywhere in the old town. We parked in the free parking (just look up free parking online) and caught an Uber down to save on the super expensive parking. Apartment has everything you need to cook basic stuff for the family too. Thank you 🙏
