More over the whole area of Mani reveals a historic heritage from the Byzantine Era, with stone-built towers and castles dating to the 10th century, and traditional heritage of the local life dating up the 18th century.
Worth visiting sightseeings are, the castle of Mystras with the old Byzantine churches, the Enetian castle in Monemvasia Peninsula, the old chapels all around, the temple of Poseidon In Tainaro, the edge peninsula of Peloponnese and many more. More over there is the Dyros Caves with stalagmites explored by a boat and a touring guide.
Small villages like Vathi, Kamares, Skoutari and Kalyvia, offer sandy beautiful beaches and traditional tavernas with local food.
Gythio and Areopoli towns are beautiful and picturesque too. Gythio looks like a greek island and Areopoli built of stone like the old times.
In summer time tradional music festivals are organized by the local Community offering too good food and wine.
