It was due to the brewery that "hop picking" became the family holiday for many families living in London, right up until the 1950s. During the summer, thousands of people would descend on the fields around Faversham, put up their tents and spend the days "hop picking", thus making this one of the best places to enjoy a pint or two! Faversham is proud of its history and the town is even named in the Domesday Book and with its cobbled streets and medieval houses, tiny quaint pubs and many listed buildings, this town enjoys remembering its fascinating history.
