Serene California Ranch

Stayed here with family during the week while our brother received some medical treatments. It is a gorgeous home which felt calm and peaceful to return home to every day. The setting, the pool, the comfy couches and the many private spaces to retreat to made us all feel like we were at a resort! Thank you for letting us stay in your home. It is truly a special place!

Amazing Home

This house is absolutely gorgeous and has everything for a complete vacation. My 6 year old grandson “ didn’t want to leave this cool house”. There were 10 of us and the house was perfect for us. And the pool! Awesome with beautiful scenery! We will be back!

Gorgeous Hillside Property

I rented this house for a special family gathering and chose it based on the description and photos in the VRBO listing. When we arrived, it was clear that the listing did not do the property justice. It is extremely beautiful, very spacious, luxurious (but in a comfortable way) and peaceful. The owners were very helpful, check in was easy and the property manager was attentive and helpful as well. We could not have asked for a better experience at double the price. We are a large family who wanted a place to gather and relax for Christmas, this house could not have been more perfect! Elise and Lars had it beautifully decorated for Christmas, the home is spacious and well appointed, the grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the southern exposure filled the house with beautiful San Diego sunshine all day long. And the location in the Ranch is perfect, we walked the golf course trails every day! You can rent this home with the confidence that your group or family will have the best week ever, guaranteed.

Perfect weather

This is a beautiful home. The furnishings and style are nice. The negative comments are meant as constructive. The entry gate is very inconvenient. Upon opening the gate to leave I had to literally leave the car running after the gate, run to the home to open and leave the gate opener and fin back to my running car. The home needs updates and would benefit from a makeover. Communication with the owners were not easy as they live in Europe as well. Last, we left several items in the home which were not returned to us even after emailing the owners. Making these issues easier woukd go a long way.

Where to begin. A wonderful home. Loved everything about it. The pool was great for me, I swim laps and this pool was long enough to do it. We were supposed to be a party of 9 or 10 but 1/2 of them caught Covid and had to stay home. thought it was going to be a bummer, but the property is so wonderful that missing them was not that bad! this house has EVERYTHING that you could possible need. So very thoughtful ! Will stay again next year...hopefully with the whole family!

FANTASTIC PROPERTY

My extended family and I had a WONDERFUL vacation at this FABULOUS house. We were a group of six adults and six children ranging in age from 5 to 12. The property has a great location and the amenities were unsurpassed. We have been using VRBO for over 10 years and this has to be the best property that we have used. The location is near Del Mar beach which had adequate parking and restroom facilities for our gang. Beach chairs and boogie boards are provided. The house is spacious, clean, well maintained, and well stocked with just about any appliance you could need. The host even provided half and half cream and biscuits for our morning coffee The grandkids especially enjoyed playing in the swimming pool and hot tub and the adults enjoyed the outdoor bar while on “lifeguard” duty! With the outdoor rose garden, the property is gorgeous! We were especially pleased with the responsiveness of the property manager. Every question was addressed quickly and in a professional manner. If we ever return to the San Diego area this is where we would want to stay. This is a 5 star property in every respect!

Fantastic Christmas stay at our own private retreat in Rancho Santa Fe

This beautiful home is truly one of our best private rentals ever and was a perfect retreat for our family over the holiday break. The interior has a spacious layout and is very well appointed with a comfortable, welcoming feel. It was great to be able to have multiple areas to visit with friends and family across the kitchen/family room, dining room, gorgeous formal living room and bar/billiards room. The additional family room on the second floor was also great for the kids. Overall, the bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious with comfortable bedding and towels. A highlight was the incredible master bedroom suite with sitting area and fireplace. The home office and separate guest cottage also worked great for spreading out when duty called for the infrequent zoom calls during the break. Lastly, the back patio, fire pits and and pool/hot tub provided plenty of entertainment outside both day and night during the mild San Diego winter weather. We hope to be able to stay here again during a future visit!

Perfect Luxury Getaway big enough for The whole family

This house was so well equipped with EVERYTHING you will need. Check in and out are easy. We inquired about a rice cooker in the kitchen and there was one at the front door within the hour. The pool is heaven and location is amazing with so many towns and attractions within 30 minutes away. This home was worth every penny we spent on it. A big thanks to Elise and Lars from our whole family for making their home available for us to rent.

Better than the pictures

Hard to believe, but this place is better and bigger than the photos. It worked great for 9 adults and 5 kids for our post-covid family reunion. Very private, quiet - tons of space. And very responsive owners and property manager. There was a blip with the Peloton on our second say and it was fixed the same morning. Would definitely stay there again.

Loved it!

Would not hesitate to book here again. It is in a beautiful area and the house was lovely. If I were to change anything it would be to have a bed included in one of the ensuites that was designated for an office space with just a desk on the ground floor. However, that would not deter me from renting again just would be an added bonus. Thanks again, for having us.

Simply wonderful

We’ve stayed in several VRBOs and this is by far the best one yet. The only bad thing was we had to leave! The house is spacious and beautifully decorated. The owners have exquisite taste. The pictures don’t even do it justice. The house had everything we needed from electronics to kitchenware to sporting equipment. Everyone had plenty of personal space as well as space to be together, both indoors and out. It was also great to have the full separate casita with a desk for work and a Peloton bike for workouts. Watching sunsets from the hot tub was one of many highlights from our trip. The owners provided all the details and instructions we needed and were extremely accessible but there was nothing we had to reach out to them for. Everything was perfect! If you’ve landed on this page and are considering booking this property, DO IT! You will be so happy there.

Family Togetherness

This very elegant and functional home, with its pool and grounds, was perfect for the nine-day gathering of our 12 immediate family members. It provided areas where we could enjoy coming together — meals, swimming, fire pit talks — as well as plenty of space when a little alone time was needed. Upscale but comfortable....private and secure....great kitchen for the family to cook together. The property managers/owners could not have been more gracious or hospitable. The fact is we had nine “perfect” days in Rancho Santa Fe. We would highly recommend this estate home to anyone.

Amazing home to relax and enjoy family time

We just returned from a relaxing week enjoying some family time. My children and I loved the pool and playing sports in the large backyard. There was so much to do and enjoy that we never wanted to leave! This house has it all- amazing pool and hot tub, a beautiful garden, and gorgeous views. Plenty of space for a large family (including work space for anyone needing to work). The owners/property manager handled a small issue very quickly and they were very easy to communicate with. We would love to return!

Wonderful home for a large family gathering. Fantastic home for large family gathering. Spacious, well appointed, comfortable and fun for entertaining (great kitchen and adjoining family room). Gorgeous backyard and outdoor set-up with pool/spa, lounges / sitting areas, multiple fire-pits, TVs, grill and bar gazebo within a peaceful and private setting. Elise and her staff were responsive and accommodating - wonderful hosts. Direct access to scenic Rancho Santa Fe walking trails (25 min walk to the village). Would definitely rent the house again.

We love the area and has lived her part time since our youngest daughter was born 2002. It is friendly, peaceful, close to the beaches. Perfect weather, most of the time - not too hot and not too cold year round. We spend all summers in Stockholm Sweden so we are looking forward to share this gem with you.
