Relaxing at the pedernales river

Nice and quiet, plenty to do in Fredericksburg, but after the crowds, we got to come back and relax at a great place

Wonderful property in great location

Two couples spent a two nights at this great riverside property. Both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, plus there's another half bath external to the bedrooms. Well appointed kitchen and living area. This is located within 10 minutes of all the wineries and distilleries in the Johnson City, Hye, Stonewall, and east

A Perfect Getaway

We had a wonderful time at Riverside Retreat. During a very hectic season of our life, it was a gift to be able to relax and unwind both inside the cabin and out by the river. We spent an afternoon at Narrow Path Vineyards and it was absolutely divine!! We've already shared the cabin info with several friends and hope to be back ourselves one day.

Awesome family friendly cabin on a beautiful part of the river

Fantastic decorations, cozy accommodations and a perfect little hideaway on the river. Kids enjoyed fishing and playing on the hammock. We loved the quaintness of the decor mixing vintage with new. Loved this!

Absolutely Amazing

Best way to spend my birthday get away. Close enough to Fredericksburg to enjoy all the wineries, good food and night life. Just far enough away to be blow away by the stunning property on the river. Great fishing, beautiful outdoors, and spectacular home! Every attention to detail is covered! We will make this a annual trip!

Friends Weekend

We are 2 couples in our late 50's that came for a weekend of fun and wine tasting. This is a gorgeous and relaxing location. It is wonderful to sit on the screened in porch and look out over the river. Very peaceful. The decorations in the house are great and we loved every minute. One note - you do need to bring a fire log and charcoal, but, they do sell both at the little grocery store about a half mile away.

The house was fantastic. It was decorated perfectly with some of the coolest touches, especially the table/bar in the kitchen area. Everything was very clean and worked as expected. Outside was peaceful, scenic, well-kept and enjoyable. We didn’t get to enjoy the hot tub and porch as much as we would have liked due to 95* August temps but we loved it nonetheless! The kitchen comes stocked with a Keurig machine plus an assortment of K-Cups and creamers in the cabinet. There is also a traditional coffee pot in the pantry should you prefer that style. WiFi worked great. Living room furniture was comfortable and all the TVs were smart TV which made it nice to be able to login to our streaming services. The master bath is stocked with towels and plentiful supply of toiletries should you forget anything.We really enjoyed the house overall. If you are looking to stay outside of town to enjoy the peace and quiet, this is a prime spot. It’s about 15 min from town. We highly recommend visiting Burgs Corner just 2 min away for fresh produce, a wide variety of preserves, sauces, etc. and most importantly their FRESH “Peach Crisp” ice cream! Make sure you have it topped with fresh peach purĂ©e as well! Amazing!

Beautiful Retreat

We had an amazing time in this beautiful house on the river. All the amenities made it so relaxing. We enjoyed the river, wildlife, the screened porch, hot tub, & fire pit. The kitchen was stocked with cookware and dishes and made it great to have our own meals. Everything was very clean except for the dishes. There was food residue on many of the plates and silverware but we were provided with dish soap and sponges so we just washed things before use. We are hoping to visit again. Overall, a wonderful place.

Good getaway with qualifiers

I did like this cabin- a good overall experience. It is well designed and modern. I love the decorations too. That said, there were a few items of concern: 1) The security code on the door is obvious and has never been changed. I won't state what it is, but if you've ever stayed there, you know the code. And, if safety and security is a concern, you may want to consider this point. While it is remote, the cabin does have neighbors on both sides. 2) The chlorine in the hot tub is excessive and caused both my and my girlfriend's eyes to burn for hours after we left the hot tub. 3) While most things are well stocked, things like dishwashing detergent were not stocked, and that was obviously why dirty pans were found in the cabinets. Gross. 4) AT&T has terrible coverage around the cabin. However, the WiFi is good, but if you want to search for a restaurant on your cell phone, do it inside the cabin rather than in the car.

This cabin is the perfect location for relaxation next to the river! It was very cozy and beautifully decorated. The kitchen had everything you would need even a beautiful fresh flower arrangement! The screened in porch, fire pit and hot tub were a bonus! Kayaks and fishing poles were also provided.

The house was amazing and very well put together and the view from the back porch was very pretty with the river in the background. We loved how close it was to the town and all the wineries. Would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful Home and Setting

The Riverside Retreat is so comfortable, accommodating, and beautiful. It was completely refurbished inside, and everything was beautiful, easy to use, clean, and comfortable. The screened porch was the best, and we enjoyed quality time sitting by the river (which was running at the time) in a peaceful, refreshing setting. Our only (slight) challenge was finding the location in the dark.

Beautiful house and property, terrific views to the river and neighborhood was quite. We used the hot tub and screened in deck daily. Wonderful host!

Lovely house

This house has such charm in addition to the water with fishing and kayaks. Close to great wineries and restaurants. We went for a wedding at Featherstone ranch and it was a quick 9 min drive.

Relaxing and Inviting

We absolutely loved staying here. The location is perfect, the area is super quiet and peaceful. The amenities of the home are awesome, and the king bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept in. LOOOOVVVEEED this place!!!
